  • Thank you for making this.

  • woahh....

  • youtube keep wathing videos lolololool

  • @TheEctomorph markkuwerkko's an ass with a stupid username. He's really not worth our time, as I doubt he holds any kind of legitimate qualification to speak on matters of health and well-being. He's simply an elaborate troll with no purpose in life that gets his kicks by attacking autistics. His restricted mind cannot comprehend our difficulties, nor help us to overcome them. Don't hate the man, pity him. He's a wretch.

  • @Protocultist Very sensible and pertinent comments, sir. Good on you.

Let me take this opportunity to wish you a happy and prosperous 2012.

  • @markkuwerkko

"Well that is really none of your business."

WHAT exactly is none of my business, you mouthy c u next tuesday? I do not recall asking you any questions about your personal life.

  • @markkuwerkko [continuing on from my previous 'post'.]

this Autistic Spectrum Disorder - are definitely NOT shared by the vast majority of doctors or psychiatrists.

Why don't you just STFU, you c*** ... and refrain from 'posting' any more provocative, pointed and unsympathetic comments (on this You Tube discussion board) about people with Asperger's Syndrome. Frankly, some of your recent comments are highly insulting (to "Aspies" and their relations) and are in very bad taste indeed.

  • @markkuwerkko Mister, you are an asshole. At a rough guess, I would say that your capacity for empathy is (approximately) on a par with that of the average gorilla.

Personallly, I do not believe, for one moment, that you are a qualified medical doctor. I think that, in all probability, you are a lying c u next tuesday. But, even if I am mistaken, and you really ARE a member of the medical profession, the fact remains that your views on Asperger's Syndrome - and those who suffer from

  • @markkuwerkko I smell bullshit.

  • @Protocultist Me too, sir. That dude who uses the pseudonyn "markkuwerkko" is an asshole - and his views on Asperger's Syndrome, which are outrageous, are definitely NOT shared by the vast majority of health care professionals - i.e. doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists - in the United Kingdom. In fact, to be perfectly honest, I would be astonished if more than 2% of health care professionals in this country have the same views (on Asperger's Syndrome) as he does.

  • @AspergersGirl

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy and prosperous 2012.

    Take Care.

  • @AspergersGirl [continuing on from my previous 'post' about "markkuwerto".]

a health care worker. (If he was, then I have every sympathy for the patients/service users who were unfortunate enough to find themselves in his "care".)

It is patently clear to me that insensitive t***s like "markkuwerto" - who have very little, if any, empathy - are totally unsuitable to work with vulnerable/disabled people (and that includes those with Asperger's Syndrome).

  • @TheEctomorph Well that really is not none of your business. Let this girl answer himself would ya? His severity isn't THAT severe. We have had this discussion with her, and i have apologized some of my irresponsible remarks. But if you haven't got anything else to do, keep ranting shit about people you don't know about, be my guest. As for my education, i am a Licenciate of Medicine, which corresponds to grade before M.D. My thesis regarded psychological neurotic functions. Including Asperger.

  • @AspergersGirl Compassion is a dirty word to people like that guy who calls himself "markkuwerto". Tbh, I have come across quite a few people like him (on Internet forums, such as this one) over the past couple of years.

Obnoxious, unempathic bastards like "markkuwerto" - who seem to think that the vast majority of Aspies are gutless, attention-seeking malingerers - make me feel pig-sick, to tell the truth.

I, for one, find it very difficult to believe that, that toe rag was ever

  • i have ADHD and Aspergers Syndrome

  • I have that sneeze at bright lights thing. I rather like sneezing !

  • Please stop. It is hard for me to see a jerk disrupt the good work that you do for all of us. Asperger's is by definition a subtle difference from the NT "norm" and that is how I lived in my own little world for 53 yrs. before finding out why I felt so misunderstood. My family and those around me saw a fairly "normal looking" man but couldn't understand why I had such a hard time dealing with "normal" people and their expectations of me. My mild autism also explains my best qualities.

  • I do have a hypothesis as to why those with AS have average to above average IQ and rarely below average: Both classically autistic and those with AS both have trouble understanding social situations. Imagine someone with an autistic brain with a high IQ. That person could use this intelligence to mimic the social interactions around them and then learn to fit in somewhat, much as what is described by Michael John Carley's book title "Pretending to be Normal". Autism+High IQ = AS

  • yeah me too i can't go 10 hrs without bathing where in the helll did that stereotype come from??? BTW What about Aspergers and atheism are you an atheist.. geographically speaking the NZ is like 70% secular beliefs what u think AS girl???

  • @drakegod84 It's pretty common for Aspergers people to be atheists, but no, I'm not.

  • @AspergersGirl Interesting....I actually lived a stout religious life for 4 years or so- post diagnosis. It was very difficult trying to be religious and not being aware of my Aspergers. Wondering why I never fitted in or why my peers abstain from my presence. So another question for ya, how does your social handicaps effect your spiritual lifes? Oddly enough- I'm not trying to persuade you or anything- but after I became secular I lost a great deal of depression.

  • @drakegod84 I suppose i had this depression because i had so much hope built into the faith. after i let go of it and lost what Christian friends I did have the depression went away...Ironic isn't it, I suppose if I were N type I would've actually grown a great deal more depressed. Almost paradoxical isn't it.

  • @drakegod84 I'm not religious, either.

  • @AspergersGirl So your an agnostic?

  • @Genin99 No. I follow mysticism.

  • @AspergersGirl any specific form?

    I'm a Wiccan

  • @drakegod84 TheAnMish explains the topic of Religion and Aspergers very well in on of her videos

  • Comment removed

  • @claireste No. Not everyone is the same. Just because YOU would do those does not mean others would.

  • Nothing Is Wrong With Loving Cats Alot

  • I have Asperges and I have no idea with Maths

  • @danilovely93 No, but it bothers me when people say others "contract" it. You can't. It's not possible.

  • Love the vid. One thing that wasn't covered though was empathy. Most aspies I have seen (myself included) have issues with empathy... Moreso understanding the emotions of others. I find it fascinating to study people at heightened states of emotion. I also have a strange inability to cry (not sure if related, haven't asked therapist).... Btw, I LOVE zelda! Link to the past ftw!

  • I don't care if Aspergers actually exists or not, all I know is that it shouldn't be allowed as a legal diagnosis. I was diagnosed when I was 7, and the diagnosis absolutely ruined my life. I honestly believe the world would be a far far better place if Hans Asperger had been executed after the war for complicity in crimes against humanity.

  • @TashkentFox i agree. but hows it been bad? is it on your record and how does that affect you?

  • i didn't get it because i didn't pay attention enough

  • Asperger's doesn't even exist. If you are socially uncomfortable and are unsure if someone means something else than you'd think, dont classify it as an disease FFS. There are truly sick people in world, shame on you...

  • @markkuwerkko Asperger's Syndrome does exist. It's not a disease. Diseases are acquired. People with Asperger's Syndrome are just neurologically different and have struggles and gifts that others often don't.

  • @SepherStar Yeah that might be true. But especially here on YouTube i've seen loads of fake cases of Asperger, that are just craving for attention.

  • @markkuwerkko God you really are an idiot, aren't you?

  • @AspergersGirl I'll refute your insult, since your disease prevents you from having an civilized conversation. Try to hang on.

  • @markkuwerkko How can you tell from a youtube video whether someone has it or not?

  • @SepherStar Why now it is quite easy. As an former healthcare worker i have noticed that most assburgers cannot for example raise their voice when talking to the camera. Plus looking straight to the lens is an difficult motion, since it represents the human eye, which assburgers also avoid. I'm sure you have also seen some yourself.

  • @markkuwerkko Ok, so arse burgers can't raise their voice. What planet are you living on? Are you only dealing people with very severe aspergers?

Also how is looking at an inanimate object anything close to being like eye contact? I can speak from experience that it isn't.

  • @AspergersGirl The volume of severity varies, but my list of symptoms is based upon years of hypothesis and calculations. And i live on planet called Earth.

  • @markkuwerkko calculating? bahahahaha

    calculating nigger. fucking ex-slave

  • @zionistslut Yeah go aheas, be a racist. That is all you moralfags who have perverse relationship to mental retards can be.

  • @markkuwerkko As a person with Asperger's Syndrome, I've noticed that most health care workers don't know what they are talking about when it comes to Asperger's Syndrome.

  • @SepherStar Or perhaps due to your disease, you are unable the see that.

  • @markkuwerkko Asperger's Syndrome is not a disease. Diseases are acquired. As for your suggestion, it is incorrect and likely based on your apparently broad misconceptions of those with Asperger's Syndrome. Perhaps the majority of individuals you worked with had the issues you claim, however that certainly doesn't mean they represented all, or even the majority of those with Asperger's Syndrome. I imagine since they were receiving medical treatment, they were struggling severely or were ill.

  • @SepherStar Of course they were. Why would they otherwise be institutionalized?

  • @markkuwerkko A former healthcare worker? I can totally see why FORMER! You base your diagnoses on your morning poo and tend to know it all better than the people who experience it day to day. Then you have the nerve to call it a disease......please step into your time machine and go back to the days when blood letting was seen as the ultimate cure for everything! The way you talk about Asperger's Syndrome really disgusts me!

  • @gyqz Yeah keep spewing shit you moralfag. You don't know shit about Assburger or anything else, in matter of fact.

  • @markkuwerkko If you say so.....you know everything!

  • @markkuwerkko dont make me wipe you out from existence

  • @zionistslut I'd like to see you try that, moralfag asswipe.

  • @markkuwerkko you make me laugh pollack

  • @zionistslut It's "polack" you ignorant white trash hillbilly.

  • @markkuwerkko

I said pollack... as "in lacking" intelligence you fucktard

so much for your ignorant remark.

    who is ignorant now?

  • @zionistslut

Such term doesn't even exist, you Kike fuck.

  • @markkuwerkko

    no shit fuctard

  • @markkuwerkko Oh, PURRR- LEAZE ! Stop acting the hard man, for crying out loud. It is patently clear - to myself and dozens of other You Tube viewers who have read your outrageous comments on this You Tube board - that you are a sad, inadequate wimp of a man who is hiding behind the shield of Internet anonymity.

I suggest that you go to getalife.com.

  • @markkuwerkko "You don't know shit about Assburger or anything else, in matter of fact."

That's rich ... coming from a manifestly ignorant, bigoted twat like you. Tell me something, you c u next tuesday: Do the words "pot", "kettle" and "black" mean anything to you? They f*****g well should do.

  • @markkuwerkko [continuing on from my previous 'post' about ignorant people who think that most "Aspies" are

    malingerers.]

past. Frankly, I have my doubts as to whether you are telling the truth about that. But even if you were a health care worker of some sort, I do not believe, for one moment, that you are - or ever have been - a doctor, psychiatrist or psychologist. If I am correct in this assumption, then your opinion as to whether or not Asperger's Syndrome exists

  • @markkuwerkko [continuing on from my previous 'post' about ignorant people who think that most "Aspies" are malingers.]

    is WORTHLESS ... sir.

Oh, and just one more thing: IF you really are a former health care worker, then you should know better than to refer to people with Asperger's Syndrome as "assburgers". That term is distinctly derogatory and disrespectful, and it is patently obvious that people who use it - such as your good self - have NO EMPATHY for people who

  • @markkuwerkko [continuing on from my previous 'post' about ignorant people who think that most "Aspies" are malingerers.]

suffer from this pervasive Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

As far as I am concerned, you are TOTALLY unsuitable to work as a health care worker in any capacity WHATSOEVER, however menial. You are quite clearly a uncaring, insensitive human being, with little or no regard for the feelings or psychological suffering or others.

Mister, I suggest that you STFU ... and stop

  • @markkuwerkko [continuing on from my previous 'post' about ignornant people who think that most "Aspies" are malingerers.]

'posting' ignorant and pointed remarks (on this You Tube board) about people who have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. It is not for the likes of YOU to pass judgement on whether or not this Autistic Disorder exists. Furthermore, you do NOT have the expertise - or the right - to dismiss a high proportion of people who have been disagnosed with this

  • @markkuwerkko [continuing on from my previous 'post' about ignorant people who think that most "Aspies" are malingerers.]

disability, as "fakers" or "malingerers". In fact, you are not qualified to dismiss ANYONE who has been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome as a "faker" or "malingerer".

Mister, you are an ignorant, judgemental and self-righteous t***. Moreover, it seems to me that your capacity for empathy is roughly on a par with that of the average gorilla.

  • @markkuwerkko ... in your humble opinion.

Who the f*****g Hell are you to judge whether or not people who have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome are malingerers/fakers? Are you a qualified doctor, psychiatrist or psychologist? I have to say that I very much doubt it, given the ignorance - and hostility towards people with this autistic spectrum disorder - that you have displayed in some of your 'posts' on this You Tube board.

You claim to have been a "health care worker" in the

  • @SepherStar So are the psychopaths.

  • @WarmongerWW3 No one ever said psychopathy wasn't real. What's your point?

  • @markkuwerkko asperger's syndrome is real, believe me.

  • @markkuwerkko Mister, you are a major pain in the rectum area. Who the f******g hell are YOU to say that Asperger's Syndrome (an autistic spectrum disorder) doesn't exist. Are you a qualified doctor, psychiatrist or psychologist? If not, then your own personal view - as to whether or not Asperger's Syndrome exists - is WORTHLESS.

Moreover, even if you ARE a qualified doctor, psychiatrist or psychologist (which I very much doubt), the fact of the matter - whether you like it or not -

  • @markkuwerkko [continuing on from my previous 'post' about Asperger's Syndrome.]

is that the overwhelming MAJORITY of health professionals believe strongly that Asperger's Syndrome DOES exist, and that it is a genuine and pervasive disability.

To claim that Asperger's Syndrome is an "imaginary" disability, and that all people who have been given this diagnosis are "malingerers" who are too gutless or weak to face up to the responsibilites and pressures of adult life, is an outrageous

  • @markkuwerkko [continuing on from my previous 'post' about Asperger's Syndrome.]

thing to say. Shame on you. As far as I am concerned, you are an stupid ignorant c u next tuesday, who is totally lacking in empathy (and, probably, in common sense too).

I hope that 2012 turns out to be a particularly unpleasant year for you.

  • @markkuwerkko F*** off, you stupid c u next tuesday. OF COURSE Asperger's Syndrome exists.

Fyi, health professionals who are knowledgeable about Asperger's Syndrome do NOT classify it as a disease/mental health illness; it is classified as an Autistic Spectrum disorder, and also as a social developmental disability.

I'll bet that you are one of those ignorant, unempathetic people that thinks that clinical depression is not a genuine mental health illness. People who claim to be suffering

  • @TheEctomorph [continuing on from my previous 'post' about Asperger's Syndrome and clinical depression.]

from depression are basically just weak, gutless malingerers, lacking in moral fibre, who need to stop whingeing and pull themselves together ...... right?

Mister, it is patently clear that you are unsympathetic, insensitive sod. People with your harsh and out-dated attitudes and values are soooo not suitable to work in the health care system (IMHO, at any rate).

  • @theindiekidable It's just Asperger's, it's not like you're a leper, or something. If people can't accept that you're an aspie, maybe they were never really friends to begin with? Anyway, your "obsession" with fashion is a good thing. Well, kinda. Think about it: you could be the next John Galiano. Only without the racism ;P

  • I've possibly got mild Aspergers, would fashion count as an extreme obsession? I spend a lot of time during the day thinking about it, looking at websites, undressing and dressing, matching outfits observing what other people wear, etc. etc. I'm a guy, I'm afraid my mates my think of less of me if I tell them.

  • what severity where you diagnosed with?

  • @Insurgent999 Unmedicated: Moderate

    Medicated: High functioning.

  • I hate having it. It makes me feel less than human, not even being able to "chit chat" or feel anywhere near comfortable in ANY social situation. :( I get tired mentally when around people and need to take a lot of meds because of anxiety. Plus I am now warped to act like a neurotypical and feeling like a fake...

  • @Kenjitsuka i know exactly what you mean. trying to fit in and act "normal" feels very fake. it isn't me. sometimes i feel robbed because i'll never experience most of what people consider the pinnacle of the human experience. being social. but you have to find value in yourself. me? i can sit and contemplate how the universe works, and picture atoms and their interactions (i LOVE physics). the reason we have obsessions is because they're comforting, so use them for that.

  • @chris11sholtz Indeed, obsessions are the core of anxiety relief that comes natural to our brains I guess. Since I didn't get diagnosed untill recently I am in therapy still, and there I learned that things like obsessive thinking are a method to not think about "worse" things, stuff that'll make you anxious or depressed. Knowing this is helping me tolerate lying awake at night thinking in circles. The tolerance in turn makes it less nescesary to keep on thinking :)

  • I have aspergers, but I had some different diagnoses before it was confirmed that I have aspergers. It's my most recent diagnoses.

  • @ColombianaXO7 so what has it been like you having Asperger's

  • @ColombianaXO7 thats interesting i had a similar kind of on obsession with the lion king when i was 11 i watched it 3 times a day in the week mon-fri and 7 times on sat-sunday.whiche came to about 54hours a week so as you can imagine i had no life i just wached the lion king all the time and during my obsessed i too had the film taken away from me. i was very upset when this happend i simply lay under my bed in floods of tears wanting that film and coulden,t understand why i felt the way i did

  • I am 21 and have Asperger Syndrome since I was 3. I like Eurovision Song Contest, Olympics, flags, sport, art and geography. I used to be obsessed with lining up toys and shoes when I was a toddler.

  • What gets me is that its a neurological disorder in other words part of the brain isnt working properly. But if you get diagnosed later in life you will have it milder , and if you got diagnosed younger you would of had it more severe.... To me you either have it or you dont.

  • It only makes sense that I find this video suggested on an INTP video..

  • get obsessed with me :)

  • @gazskull haha, she is pretty charming

  • Comment removed

  • Babe im obsessed with Zelda too and have all my life and i have bad ANxitery too do you think i am the same as you ???

  • Sneezing because of bright light is not sensory overloading. It's called a Photic Sneeze reflex, and about a third of all people have this syndrome. A specific wavelength of light causes a sneeze reflex. Yes, it's weird. However, it has absolutely nothing to do with aspergers. This is not criticism, I am merely informing and correcting.

  • I'm glad you made this explaining a little a bit what Asperger's is. I told a friend of mine I had it and he told me I didn't. He had heard of it but he said it had nothing to do with Autism. He said it was like a combination of Bipolar disorder, OCD, and Tourettes. Of course that was contrary to EVERYTHING I had heard and read. I didn't argue with him though because he's one of those people that always has to be right.

  • @TheJordant83 Ye, those people are annoying. It's possible that you have asperger's, but no one cal tell you. It takes a lot of testing. I know, I've done the tests. IQ tests, cognitive, executive function tests, and lots more.

  • @antiHUMANDesigns Yeah I had heard about the tests. I would like to get tested but can't afford it. But from what I read I'm 99.9% sure I have it. It just fits to well with what I've experienced my entire life.

  • @TheJordant83 It's sad that it should cost you money to take the tests. :/ You're in USA? Here in swede, it's all free. In any case, if you believe it, you should do it.

  • @antiHUMANDesigns There's not a lot that's free over here. All people are worried about over here is money. That's one reason this country is going down the drain. All people care about is making money, not about other people. And people are so much more important.

  • @TheJordant83 Socialism doesn't sound too bad, does it? Yes, capitalism is an effective way of making sure you don't have to mind people.

  • @antiHUMANDesigns Honestly I'd rather live in a society without money. It just complicates things.

  • @TheJordant83 Oh, you've heard of the Venus Project? Yes, money is a corrupter and a way of distributing resources unevenly, so I agree.

  • my brother and best friend has aspergers syndrome, my brother is obsessed with dogs and old godzilla films

  • So apparently everyone on the planet has Aspergers Syndrome. Interesting.

  • nz?

  • Im Asparagus and have problems explaining to people why I am different. Quite of these people freak and avoid me or contest my career. You explained it well.

  • I don't have Asperger's,but I fucking hate that ''Ass-burgers'' joke. It makes me pissed.

  • Yeah thats a good kiwi accent ! Now everyone this is a girl from a place called new Zealand . Do you know where that is?

  • Different people are just that ..different. Some are more violent, some more mellow, some more narcissistic, some like train spotting, some are alcoholics and some are religious.

IMO, the thing that really singles out people with mild ASD isn't obvious through testing or analysis. It is to do with the choices we make, and the things we find of interest to us.

  • I had/have obsessive compulsive disorder =( I hate it. Also, I am obsessed with Zelda, =D but I am not asperger's

  • I had/have obsessive compulsive disorder =( I hate it. Also, I am obsessed with Zelda, =D but I am not asperger's =D

  • Hey great videos! its so nice to see you spreading the word on the truth about aspergers. Though i dont have it, ive recently read a book called "House Rules" by Jodi Picoult which covers aspergers quite thoroughly so it made me aware of how much it affects everyday life for 'aspies' but then again how normal it is. I am curious to know how it differs from autism?

  • Correct answer is a gift.

  • Hello.

In term of socialising (spelling?) with other people simultaneously is that something you can do? I personally have really difficulties with that, I can however socialize with one person at the time, even though it's very hard and it takes a lot of energy.

Is that something you can releate to?

Also, I agree with you on the hygiene thing, It's really short-sighted to think that all people don't clean themself or take care of their appearance just because they have AS.

  • burn aspies. YAY!

  • scam! this chick's a fake. LAME! SCAM!!! FAKE! EXPOSED! lol. fuck all you aspie fruits. all of you should be put into ovens and burned to death. that would be NEATOH!

  • The maths thing, i never thought about it before but i was really good at maths at school, it was real easy. I also can hear in shapes and colours, it sounds crazy but if i'm playing guitar i think of shapes and play round them while making the colour with the tone of the notes. It makes no sense but it seems real. It's the same with most instruments but not with drums, who knows why?

  • I got diagnosed with AS in 2006. I feel I know me better. Before this I knew I been enduring a "mystery" weakness. Family, teachers, even doctors did not understand why I stood out as a weirdo. Currently I am obsessed with bunnies. I had been obsessed with the ocean, medical field, weight control in the form of eating disorder, I could go on. My anxiety level in interacting with other people varies depending on the person's first impression I get. Nice video, Taks care.

  • i have aspergers and i struggle with communicating with people, when people dont talk to me i try and get them to notice me by acting like an idiot and i try to draw atention to myself. i cannot talk to people i dont know, how can this be helped?

  • Interesting to hear your words on this subject. I think the best way to explain Autism spectrum is the thing about thinking differently. And experienceing the world differently .

  • realy i watch every video of yours they are so great! i fal little in love on u sorry for it ur just normal dont see so manye diferents

  • I have Semantic Pragmatic Disorder. Which is like Aspergers.

  • Very informative, thank you. I have Asperger's syndrome too. I find it hard to socialise and am obsessed with languages.

  • omg ur awsome that 5mins went like 5 secs.....ur so intelligent and soft on the ears. im gonna pm u i hope we can text chat or somethin soon......i love ur accent and voice =)

  • @billgates957 Are you sure you're not trolling?

  • @AspergersGirl dude why would you turn down bill gates? You know he's a billionaire right? Ah I see where you're going with this, your still waiting for me to vacation in New Zealand, or Australia or Tasmania or where in the hell you're from. Back off Bill AS girl is mine!!! I can roll with that, you want me to drees up as Garfield or something? lol : )

  • Great im a cunt and i have AS .. thanks.. xD remind me too tell my doctor hehehe

  • I can become fixated on something very fast, then lose interest with equal speed once it no longer holds my attention. I give up.

  • 1. question: where would you draw the line

    between "sick" and "somewhat odd"?

    2. do you see it as a disability? if yes, mild or severe? "treatable"?

ty so much! all the best !!!

    Mikel

  • My aspergers son who is 10 is very fanatical about cleanliness! He washes his hands constantly, changes his clothes if just a drop of dirt is on them...and loves to bath before bedtime because he says he sleeps better when he is clean.

  • i have to say the appearance with you is wrong..i think you care very much on your appearance, you change your hair color alot, you always look good for the cam, so ..that one was being more modest than truthful huh..your doing great ..Peace

  • Ever since becoming an adult, my parents have decided to throw me into therapy. I'm supposed to be seeing a therapist some time soon. I am going to request my therapist to test me for Asperger's Syndrome and/or Depersonalization Disorder. I don't feel I have Asperger's Syndrom, but than again, I could be wrong. I "know" I have Depersonalization Disorder. No one believes I have either Asperger's or Depersonalization. What should I believe about the two? How do they relate? Do they relate? :\

  • Great video. I'm so glad you make these videos so as to tell people about Asperger's Syndrome, since it's something not a lot of people really, truly know about. I was diagonosed with Asperger's when I was 11, and a lot of what you talked about in the video, I can relate to. I have set patterns in how I do things, and I get irritated if they change . I have obsessions with certain interests. I also have problems with social interaction, anxiety in crowds, and with certain noises and smells.

  • I know people with it. Some diagnosed, some not. Glad to see you making these videos to help others understand more about this. Keep up the good work.

  • Great overview!

My benign Hyperesthesia (senses running on 130-150%) makes me understand some of those experiences.

  • I love this video. Everyone thinks aspergers is just a social issue; we're considered the awkward geeks. However, aspergers are so much more than just social problems. Sensory, anxiety, rigid routines, it's all thrown out the window. And the math thing, some are know to be weaker in math when it comes to reasoning skills. My math is at a 5th grade level. Does it make my disorder any different from anyone else? Yes, and no. People with aspergers are thought to be all the same- we're people too!

  • Asbergers Sydrome is only socially not tolerated. My twelve year old daughter is so bright, so funny. Like you were, my daughter is also obsessed with cats. Also video games andThe SIMS. She can't stand florescent lights or large crowds. She use to follow patterns in floors, along walls etc but has learned to cope with that. Her appearance is not important to her as far as attracting boys but she is very clean and can't atand messes. Her obsessive behavior is organizing and neatness.

  • I don't have aspergers, but I agree with you about what it is, from what I know about it. I have some of those obsessions and about what you said about cats. I used to have ocd, but I overcome it with therapy. This is an excellent video! I will share it with my ex, who has come into a relationship with someone who does have the illness aspergers. Please don't stop making videos about it. Someone may come across you who reallly needs info about it. God bless you dear!!

  • @prisonshadows Thanks :)

  • @AspergersGirl Well, I can't post on your board any more, since Zenemu banned several of my IP addresses. :( But I will keep looking at your videos. BTW I like the one you posted with the dance music and the interracials. I have so much more to say on the subjects of love and emotions but I will have to find somewhere else to put them I guess. But I still believe, the spirit of Jesus being in me, that the interracials hold the key to the future nirvana of the human race. PS I love you xxx

  • I am so glad I found your videos. I have not been diagnosed but I strongly suspect I have it. I do not really see the point in diagnoses, I just need to accept myself for who I am ( a little bit different). i subscribed, thanks :)

  • Awesome vid! Very Accurate too. I was diagnosed with AS when I was 4, now I'm 17. I had loads of issues; I was on medication for years, I don't need it now. I suffered from terrible eating disorders, that's got better; I could never speak to anyone, and that's improved, and I used to get extreme anxiety which has calmed down. So for those who feel their problems with AS never get better, they do, trust me, it takes time yes, but the problems, though they are still with you, get easier.

  • Very interesting and I absolutely love your accent. I could listen to it all day!

  • You have autism? if you do, COOL! i do too!!!!!

  • Thank you Little One, for the wonderful information. My son has Down syndrome, also autism, and it has taken his speech. I feel your words would be his, if he was able to speak. His autism developed into -autistic catatonia" which is also neurological. If the internet were active 30 years ago, education in autism may have helped him achieve higher. Thank you again

  • Hello I am finding how amazing so many young people are using UTube and other mediums to support one another! I need to learn more about how other countries provide/support individuals with programs /experiences. I work with young teens in Art Therapy and seeing how much more creative I am ! continued...ran out of room!

  • Hi there! Do you know this Danish girl called TheAnMish AKA MajaToudal ?

She is one of the best YouTubers I've ever encountered. She is on too. She does not define herself as much as a case, but you may like her ;-)

  • Good video. One thing I believe about my high-functioning autism is that without it, I wouldn't be as creative as I am (see my vids for a taste of it). A lot of people see autism as a disability, but I think of it as the ability to think and see the world differently.

  • @tomhbwc You're very lucky if you're one of the people who does not struggle with it.

  • my aspie son is obsessed with computers and super mario!!! thanks for visiting my channel just for the plain reason that I am really enjoying yours!

  • this sounds so much like my oldest son. He has aspergers. I like to hug him and he gets really upset over it. i try not to do it, but sometimes out of a motherly intinct when he says something cute or silly i reach out to squeeze him. I'm trying to control this because I keep forgetting that his aspergers is so different from my younger sons autism. my younger son begs me to hug him, squeeze him and kiss him. They are like day and night even though aspergers and autism are similiar

  • I didn't know about the hygene stereotype. As far as i can tell, it isn't true at all. I have been reading Thinking in Pictures by Temple Grandin, and although she has a more 'classical' form of autism, much of the neurological implications stay consistent between people with autism like Kanners and people with A.S. It is an interesting book for anyone who is keen on neurology. It also has a section on biochemisty and how general anxiety medications can reduce debilitating autistic symptoms.

  • My son has verbal apraxia. latlely lots of hand gestures to the lips he wants to wipe lips all the time. And now he is sensitive to the smell of foods. tells me to move away from him when im eating.says my food stinks.im really worried hisproblems were always speach and some motor delays. Now he is 4 and seems to be getting sensory issues also getting angry more. have any suggestions or ideas what he could be suffering other than verbal apraxia?/

  • @Goldeneyes24k To me it sounds like he is somewhere on the autistic spectrum. Have you had a professional opinion about this yet?

  • @Goldeneyes24k I'd say he's definitely autistic to at least some degree. He'll probably struggle in school, but perhaps not at first. I personally didn't have any issues until around 4th and 5th grade. He'll also be a pretty unique and interesting kid. He's really going to need you for support, though. Unfortunately, kids are very mean, and many people are very ignorant about autism. Good luck dealing with the school >_<

  • Just a different kind of human being, we think in a different way, that's all.

  • I hate to ask this, as it has nothing to do with the video; but what is your accent?
