He's just a little whiny and weak. But his voice is decent. American Idol just looks for flashy crap, and the only way he could keep up was if he became a gimmick.

Not really. His confidence was clearly affected by the constant harsh criticism by the judges and the controversy that followed (VFTW/Howard Stern) w/ the media calling him "tone-deaf". This was a 17 yr old high school kid who was treated with plain cruelty. His crying at the end was a release of the pain he was subjected to and a relief that it was all finally going to end. It was heart-wrenching to see the kid cry. Thank goodness Lakisha was there like a mother to hold him.

He said that he is shy, he probably did really good here because its people he knows!On American Idol he was singing in front of millions of people and everyone was making fun of him! Thats why! If people werent making fun of him then he probably wouldve done AWSOMELY! I LOVE U SANJAYA!

Oh my god, he's soooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much better than in Idol! And, he was really good in Idol, too. I know not many people agree, but... I thought he sang reallllllly good in Idol, especially Waiting on the World to Change, Bathwater, and Besame Mucho. But, yeah... THIS (AND EVERYTHING ELSE HE DOES) IS AMAZING!

Exactly. It's mind-boggling... I just don't get it.
A beautiful voice from a beautiful soul. I guess some people just operate on different wavelengths and some people are just not evolved to receive the higher registers. (The Sanjaya Universe not for everyone???)
