OK those things are tottally awesome on road or off few years back I saw one lay down 6 inches of foam on a runway to assist a crippled RAAF fighter aircraft make a safe belly landing I have also seen one attack a rubbish tip fire it simply blew the fire away with it's monitor
Ha! you fire guys are just as crazy/stupid now as you were back when I was up there (SupCen and Airsta)!
Of course, when I was at the Airsta, some of us bronwshoes decided it'd be cool to do donuts on the ice of the (then new) ramp. It was cool until they flipped the fuel truck on its side...
thanks dusty for posting the picts of old #5.you'll be happy to know we made it to valdez with her and she is sitting in our backyard along with the deuce. we have the business almost already for fire season. we are just waiting for the state to send me the updated paperwork. but the trucks are just about ready to make us some money. people ask me "what is your husband going to do with that firetruck?" you shuold see thier faces when i tell them it's mine.
OMG! Mr.Raisley is this you? Sorry but I live in Kodiak and I seem to recall my old teacher filming this, and it sounds liks his voice. This you raisley?

i hope crews practice off-road driving - if a plane crash happens in Alaska, chances are it won't usually be near a road or ballpen.
