I was at this game when I was a kid. I was down at the dugout with my dad. I wanted an autograph from Griffey. He said "Sure kid, after the game come back down". Ya well, see what happend.
I was at the game and I remember Kevin Bass being the hitter. I remembered when he hit the ball, I thought that it was gone and I was as surprised over Griffey catching it as I was over it not clearing the fence and I couldn't believe how amazing the play was.
I'm really glad that you made this video because it really tells the whole story, much more than a 30 second highlight clip of "The Double" could have ever hoped to have done (though, that moment sums it up perfectly for those who were invested in that moment - I was watching on TV and cheered so hard with my parents!). All that being said a few video clips of the lead up to The Double, and that clip itself would have been great to mix it up :)
Great video. You know your stuff. I remember that Wild Card Series. I was in New Jersey at the time. I listened to most of those games on the radio. John Sterling and Michael Kay (Yankee annoucers with the call). Edgar's grandslam in game 4 was the loudest I ever heard a stadium. I miss the Kingdome!!!
