Well, in all honesty it was on street organs before it got into the theatre organs. Carl Frei replaced all of them with Bourdons because the Vox Humana tended to go out of tune. It was an invention of the Limonaire company if I'm not mistaken. It's also the reason for this particular organ's name (the goat) as it sounds more like a goat than a human voice!

That registration at 1:07 took me completely by surprise. It sounds like it was lifted straight out of a theatre organ!

That is the sound of the "Vox Humana" register. You've probably already heard of it, but this is one of the few organs that actually still has it.
