@nepO235 no, if this is what should be on the radio, everyone would be depressed.. haha. its amazing hiphop but its impossible a lyrical genius like illogic to get on the radio because thats not what producers and mainstream idea crave
I think more people should listen to songs like this that have more substance to them. Also, I don't really look at this so much as a depressing song. More like a song that shows how good can come from bad situations and that there's light at the end of the tunnel.
I found out about my aborted baby this Sunday.... Iv been out of it all week... The emotional pain becomes physical whenever I watch fathers and their children happy and smiling... As for the mom... She shows no sympathy... She walked away and told used the abortion as a message..... She has to be feeling some pain... I want to believe she's not that demented..... But it was My first baby and I couldnt even hold him or her in my arms... I just turned 19 yesterday...
Why isn't rap like this popular? Or is it? I don't know; I only have Top 40, Classic Rock, and Country. And, it'll be a cold day in Hell before I pay for satellite radio.
@agent00redneck Uh...maybe? I don't know why popular music is bad. It's a weird phenomenon; and I'm not being a hipster. Maybe people like that they know the same songs as others and don't care if it sucks. Maybe they'd rather hear Ke$ha than traffic. Maybe record companies are like the corporations in Armored Core and the charts are like the cake in Portal and our radios are like the TVs in A Clockwork Orange.
@agent00redneck of course, when it comes down to it, its still and always good music. it sucks great songs like this will never be on the radio, but i'd never know it since i dont turn that garbage on
@alucardisdumb would you prefer he be rapping about unicorns and pixie dust? i'm confused..the reason that i personally listen to music is to identify some emotional connection, regardless of the "simplicity" of the subject matter. this song is not one of those simple pleasures..its complexity seemingly blew way over your head. do you see everything in life so black and white? if so, that's unfortunate and i feel sorry for you. (also it's pretty clear that you've never been in such a situation.)
@jobeyrm i would prefer people rapping about something other than the same old subject matter.
and as a matter of fact no i've never been in any situation like this song because i've made it a point to never put myself in a situation like that in life.
illogic is a good artist and decent writer if he would just get past all the drama party shit.
@alucardisdumb to each his own...i still don't know what you mean though because you haven't cited any examples. this could happen to anybody that has sex by the way; condoms aren't 100% and pulling out as you said below definitely has no benefit whatsoever. my guess is, though, that illogic isn't going to change his style anytime soon...he stays true to himself. if you don't dig it, maybe anticon might be more up your alley. i'm also a fan of them.
@alucardisdumb i dunno if you've heard enough of illogic's work. All his music is not drama party shit. Aesop rock said it best, "I find that interesting style can often out weight the subject, so when the disc changer goes from guns to space, it is not an attempt to fake credibility to the public" Illogic is a profound writer, far beyond "decent"
If u know anything abt Illogic, a lot of his work is based on personal experience. This is real life, not a contrived attempt at a random topic. Others who have or are dealing with this situation I'm sure can relate, and even if not in your experience if u are real u shld be able to understand how painful this situation must be. If u are real.
@whisperperfectlies oh ok so its a troll if you say the subject matter in this video is petty and mainly pertains to poor white trash/black trash people?
bluh bluh bluh relationship blo blo blo.
sebutones do this shit better with less baww involved.
@alucardisdumb situations like this transcend social status and skin color, and you're foolish and naive to think otherwise, not to mention clearly bigoted and provincial.
@whisperperfectlies all it is is bawwing over relationships and unwed baby momma drama because the said person was too stupid to prevent/fix the problem.
how many other countless songs deal with the same subject?
This happened to me, its fucking weird how line for line everything happened the same. i played a show with illogic and told him about it... cool ass dude.
