Just want to say, I've been watching many of your videos and I like them a whole lot. I used to travel quite a bit (usually along the East Coast) and to see these videos means a lot to me. Brings back the travelling vibe in me! Thank you so much!!!! :D
When was the Eads Bridge reopened to vehicle traffic? As long as I lived in St. Louis, it was Metrolink and pedestrian only. (It's been a while since I've been up there. Sept 2001). Great video as always, Jim! Makes me homesick for St. Louis!
I just loved watching that video. St. Louis is historic in so many ways including the bridges it has. The Eads Bridge was a milestone back in 1874 as Andrew Carnegie's Keystone Bridge Company completed it. James Buchanan Eads designed it.
Great work on the video! One thing Ive always wondered is why the MLK Bridge was built so close to the Eads Bridge. Its a great structure but it seems a little redundant. The Mac Arthur Bridge on the other hand would be a great if they ever rebuilt the road deck.
This rates right up there with your Cable bridges ofth south great music and video will add it to favorites to watch GREAT JOB.And thank you for the great video of our country and cities.
Loved every bridge in this tour! That new I-70 bridge looks like it will be quite a sight when it is finished. Thanks for putting something like this together. I enjoy looking at the architecture of bridges; they all kind of have their own character and personality in a way.
Great job with the video! I really enjoyed watching how the Eads Bridge shows a nice view of St Louis as you drive over the Mississippi River into the city.
As a St. Louisan, I drove each & every one of those bridges. Thanks for driving through my hometown, @Freewayjim. You're welcome to visit "the Lou" anytime.
MoDOT and IDOT had to place a concrete barrier on the MLK Bridge. Before, it was a two lane in either direction bridge but after fatal accidents on the bridge, a concrete barrier divided the bridge.
Fantastic! I think my favorite out of this group is the Clark Bridge. Had no idea it existed in the Greater St. Louis metro. Thanks for also including the pictures and information about I-70 Mississippi River Bridge; I was wondering what that was all about.
