  • Im also surprised that NO ONE and I mean NO ONE has not parodied this famous dance scene on Youtube!!

  • The leading actor who is dancing with miss Jamie Lee died of aids/hiv. Was he gay or did he get a bad blood transfusion ? What is the real story? Im a homo myself and Id think he would dance a little better than that. He looks like he is is struggling. Just an observation! Then again..not all homo's can dance.

  • Just love this scene!

  • I was howling with laughter at this scene the first time I watched this movie. I know it's a classic, but man it's funny! Thought Jamie Lee's date was going to give himself whiplash from 1:50 - 1:56.

  • Jamie Lee rocked this one - how awesome - If I were Wendy I would have been extremely jealous - Rock it out for Halloween 2011 Jamie - For me this never gets old. Eric in Burton Michigan USA.

  • This is such an upbeat and happy song. Goes great with this happy and family friendly movie about a group of kids having fun on prom night and not getting brutally killed.

  • This movie has all of the elements of the popular movies of its times...a combination of "Saturday Night Fever" "Halloween" and "Carrie" ..and Jamie Lee Curtis.

  • my VHS co isn't that good of quality, and its an origional! Where you find this?

  • Jamie is an excellent dancer!

  • Go Jamie!!!

  • these "high-schoolers" look so old

  • lets show her what we can do. ..yeah dance badley that'll show em'.

  • I'm guessing that Jaime Lee Curtis is far and away the best thing in this movie.

  • DISCO RULES, ROCK PULLS!!!!!!!

  • Jamie Lee stole the show - she really knows how to dance - so come on Jamie we saw you on DWTS last season. I think you should be on Dancing With The Stars. You could kick some royal Prom Bootie :)

  • this is amazing, so cheesey, its great!

  • For those who are interested in downloading (illegally) the song, check 4shared.com and search for Prom Night (1980). That's where I found it.

  • @UnclesBeans I doubt it's illegal because it's a rare soundtrack and the copyright probably expired. So enjoy!

  • @cheapcape Copyrights don't expire unless the work in question is REALLY old -- far older than 1980. So technically yes, it IS illegal because somebody still owns the copyrights to these songs and may, in the future, choose to release them again on a CD. But it's more accepted to share songs that are currently unavailable.

  • @egglady I think the solution is to finally release it on CD!

  • man i love the way proms look in classic horror cinma.

  • Is it me but does the guy who is dancing with Jamie look like he has never danced before?

He looks like he is struggling a little bit

  • @astrofiasco - You are right! In fact, I read somewhere (an interview with the actor?) that he lied about his ability to dance when he got the job, and had to learn the day they shot the scene.

  • @egglady

Oddly enough, he was gay in real life. Id would think he would at least know how to have some rythym. Im a homo myself but jeez.. Sadly, he died sadly of AIDS from what I read in blogs.

  • @astrofiasco Actually, I'm reading a book that was recently published called Jamie Lee Curtis: Scream Queen. It covers the making of Prom Night and has an interview with a close friend of the actor Casey Stevens. He claims that Casey was NOT gay, but it is unknown how he contracted AIDS. I suppose he could have had a gay tryst that went horribly wrong. Any way you look at it, it's sad.

  • @egglady Indeed it is.

  • @egglady so what did happen to casey stevens... im curious to know.

  • Comment removed

  • @strykertool - He passed away from AIDS in 1987.

  • @astrofiasco disco was designed for people who didnt know how to dance. In fact, very few people know how to dance. Nowadays your avarage "dance" club just has people grinding on each other and / or drinking some drink and kind of bouncing around. Very few people know how to dance. I give the actiors in Prom night respect because at least they got some lessons and made some passable attempts.

  • whats the name of the song playing?

  • @timmenewman "Prom Night"

  • @timmenewman The one playing when Wendy and the gang walk in is "Love Me Till I Die"; the one from the epic dance scene is "Prom Night (Part 2)". Interestingly, the former song is not the album mix [where the singer says "Love Me/Oh baby, please don't go].

I just love the acoustics of the music at the prom! Everything is thumping.

  • Jamie Lee would totally kick ass on "Dancing With The Stars" based on her moves here and her genuine nice body.

  • @weirdscience85 Ah ok.

  • Awesome movie and soundtrack!!

  • @weirdscience85 That's not funny.

  • she should have kicked wendy in the face while doing that kicking move

  • @ciarau12 lol!

  • is this a real song?

  • Awesome song, awesome vid, and that blonde mean chick was HAWT!!!

    Thanks for the upload!

  • Ya know, Nick is kinda cute in an Art Garfunkel sorta way.

  • This is a really good quality video! Does anyone else notice the heavy thumping in the song from 2:17 to 2:40? Feels like I'm there... (^_^)

I wish I had a prom at this time; I wasn't even born until a year after this movie. I don't think the event has the same feeling now as it did back then!

  • My favourite part of the film (besides the kills lol) I just bought this soundtrack i can't wait!!

  • @weirdscience85 that's a bummer.

  • why she dancing with Barry Manilow?

  • @2009Denisem Oh yeah! Jamie really gets down here!

  • The original Prom Night is the best and i love the disco music score!

  • Work it, Jamie! WORK IT! Show them that you refuse to be typecasted!

  • ICONIC DANCE NUMBER!

  • i love this song. i sing it all the time. jamie looks like a drag queen in this though

  • CABIN FEVER 2:: Spring Fever this song is in it too!!! It says it's called TONIGHT IT'S PROM NIGHT, ALL NIGHT by PAUL ZAZA & CARL ZITTRER I can't find it anywhere though!!!!!!

  • @shawn1428 I have the MP3 if ya want it lol.

  • @interim81 I want it!

  • does anyone know the name of the singer who sings this

    ?

  • LOVE this dance scene !!! JLC is juste wonderful ! And song is so good...

Don't you dance in your living room ? =P

  • whats the name of the song?

  • I LOVED the way Wendy and her crew walked in LOL. I was hoping that the camera did more cut aways of her reaction. She came off as royality lol.

  • NICE

  • This and the dance scene in House at the Edge of the Park could cheer me up out of a nuclear Holocaust.

  • hahahaha - your comment has to be one of the funniest og coolest I have read on youtube for a long while - and I agree with you ;-)))))

  • awesome scene

  • My love for this scene knows no bounds. Reeks of pure awesome. Second only to the fantastic chase/fight sequence with Wendy - A most AWESOME Queen Bee Bitch.

*SIGH* If only more slasher films had a disco dance sequence.

  • woo hoo! go jamie lee curtis! i luv this movie and this is my favorite part. i wish i could find this song. does anybody know where i can find it?

  • wow.the quilty of this is much better and more clear then my vhs verson.

  • this version of LOVE ME TIL I DIE is different than the album version. does anyone have this version????

  • i love the song that is being played first in this clip-LOVE ME TIL I DIE.

  • I always loved this part best! XD

  • The Actor who played Nick did not know how to dance, so he took dance lessons. The Director was unaware, as The Actor landed the role as Nick, because he Said he could dance. :]

  • All the problems we have now started to form in this decade. Most of the problems we have today are because people from the 70's n 80's are fighting to much. Which is why we kids today can't enjoy our childhood.

  • Someone give them some water!

I remember spending the night at my friend's house and this came on television. We thouroughly enjoyed it, and this has to be my favorite part.

Jamie Lee Curtis was foxy in this sequence!

  • It would have been funny if Kim and Nick challenged Wendy and Lou to a dance off. LOL

  • you showed her! lol (p.s. prom is so overrated lol)

  • Love n miss disco, great times...

  • I think this is the best scene of Prom night.

  • AGREED :D @Sauron90

  • Disco was cool - a time when we didn't have to worrry about AIDS and all of the problems we have now - the 70s were great Baby!

  • this song quickly became an inside joke between my friend and i. its great.

  • Look out for Elena Markus!

  • What movie is that from? Elena Markus??

  • Suspiria!!! :)

  • You know the only thing more terrifying than the last twelve minutes of Suspiria, right?

  • Hey, Jessluvsjonas, I totally agree with you that the remake totally missed the mark. It could have really been a great movie if they had stuck to many of the original elements of the 1980 film. And the music is just enthralling in the original. I guess it's just too bad that the films both have the same name, but at least the new one sort of created a revival of interest in the original PROM NIGHT! :-)

  • I want this song! I think this version of prom night is better than the 2008 version dont yall think? too bad they didnt follow up with a update story in prom night 2 about kim and nick

  • I fully agree

  • @jessluvsjonas That would have been awesome, but sadly Nick is dead now.

  • @Suspiria316 omgosh!!! noooo thats soo sad! thanks for tellin me it wouldve been awesome if there was to be a followup...:/

  • @jessluvsjonas i liked heollo mary lou. can't follow up on this one because te killer kinda dies, you know.

  • @Themaniacnextdoor I agree! i do like hello mary lou too can i add you?!

  • @jessluvsjonas sure. none of my friends care for these types of movies.

  • I think at 2:41 to 2:51 Titanic(1997) took this scene. Lol. ;)

  • I always loved this scene in the movie - makes me laugh every time.

  • names song?

  • Love this! I watch it at least once every week. Wish I could go back in time and dance with Jamie :)

The lead guy I believe was Casey Stephens from Canada - he died of AIDS I believe later on a few years after this movie was released........

  • Oh, that breaks my heart! I wish he would be my date to the Prom!!! lol.

  • love it, where can i get the song???

  • awesome song

  • The original scream queen!

  • great movie!

    better then halloween!!!

  • the song and the movie is actually hot!!!

  • Jamie Lee had some cool dance moves - she could really boogie - ah the good ole days - I would love to go back to 1980 - I would have been 10 years old. Jamie still rocks - she looks great in True Lies also but she really should color her hair now as it is gray in the Activia yogurt commercial.

  • LMAO

  • If this was my prom, I'd go on a killing spree too. This scene is fucking hilarious.

Let's show 'em what we can do...Prom Night - Evrything is All Right.

Nothing mixes better than slasher films and the disco sub-genre??????

  • I loved this movie, scared me when I was a kid especially the opening scenes. The dancing is hysterical. I bet the crew laughed their asses off behind the scenes. Isn't the Dad, the cop from Naked Gun?

  • Yep, that's Leslie Nielsen aka Frank Drebin of "Police Squad" and "Naked Gun".

  • i really want to know what the song is called lol

    i really liek it.

if anyone knows what its called and who it is by tell me PLEASE :D

  • hot dance moves! go jamie lee!

  • Jamie Lee Curtis Rocks and she still looks good for her age. I just wish in those yogurt commercials she didn't have grey hair.

  • Why?It just goes to show that Jamie Lee is a real woman who happens to not conform to the hollywood standards of beauty, she,s aging the way anyone should instead of bleaching her hair and botoxing up her face, only to look like a plastic clown face she rather age gracefully and real.Mature female celebs such as Angela Bassett,Diane Keaton,Sigourney Weaver ,Meryl Streep are a perfect example and they all still look great.

  • I was about to post this, but now I'm not gonna. I'm going to watch your video several times and continue laughing!

  • too bad someone did a remake. i hate remakes. my grandmother has a bunch of old movies that have been or is going to be remaked. no offense but i think film makers don't have any great ideas for new coming movies. they're just all remakes. why remake a movie that's old and that someone owns. it's pointless. it's the same with musicians today also. nothing but remakes or remixes. they can't make up their own and be original.

  • The remake of Prom Night is "new"; in this original, the escaped serial killer is a red herring. In the remake, the serial killer is the killer. Unfortunately, the remake sucks hardcore, let's never mention it again.

As for music; you're listening to the wrong genre. Rock is always original, unless they pay tribute by covering someone else. Remixes are all techno and Rap, and that music sucks anyways. Go buy a NIN album.

  • The songs in the movie were composed by Paul Zaza using session musicians. The soundtrack was only released in Japan with less than 2,000 copies pressed. Needless to say it would be VERY difficult to find! I have a DJ friend in NYC and when he plays this song the crowd goes nuts!

  • Your dj friend rules!

  • any chance he can send you a copy of the song he plays and forward it along? would be great!

  • such a disco classic..if only i could get it..sigh..

  • i love old b movies!

  • i wanna dance on this at my wedding, gonna learn all those moves

  • OMG you ROCK!!! You and your new husband will blow away your guests if you can pull it off. PLEASE, videotape your routine and post it!

  • love this scene, so good, best disco music ever in a film

  • that reminds me.i want to watch this movie tonight! :)

  • Its not ABBA, there's no way a low budget 1980horror film from Canada could afford them, I'm a Canuck I should know! Love this scene and music! Ah, Jamie Lee Curtis: fighting masked lunatics or disco dancing is there nothing she can't do? She looks so hot here. She rules! I'll bet this scene is better than anything in the remake. Thanks for posting!

  • is the song prom night by abba cause it sounds like it is?

  • she looks great..los pasos se le ven mejor a ella q a el

  • PROM NIGHT features some of the best damn disco music ever recorded!!

  • JLC is sexy

  • This song blows me away. I know that I can always trust the Hollywood editors and executives of the late seventies to filter out a sound that embodies a style, or time period, with incredible accuraccy. Oddly, however, the song itself would probably be dismissed as derivative and uninspiring movie music. Rather, I would proport that "Prom Night" captured the "sound on the streets" & in the average disco clubs during the months in which it was written and produced in '79. Excellent history!

  • great post!

  • I cant find the song!!!

  • EWGTY4Q5EJUH

  • What song is it? please respond thanks :)

  • the first song is called "love me til i die" the one they dance to is called "PROM NIGHT"

  • I really love this song!!!Jamie is hot,and she is the best scream queen,I love her xD.

  • hahaha this is gay as hell

  • I like this song. It has a slight creepiness to it, and still makes you want to get down.

  • best dance sequnce in history mann.. Jamie lee curtis rocked and still do. Orignal scream queen. That girl can dance! (no one dances like that i may add)

  • Wow! who dances like that now, but good movie and good clip =(

  • This scene and the song are both very exciting.

  • GROOOVVYYY!!!

  • this song is cool but zany

  • man i whis this dance part was n the new moive

  • im going to see this movie i like it

  • Enjoy. There are parts of the movie that drag, but also many scenes that are extremely effective and the ending is probably the most affecting that you could hope to have in a movie like this.

  • kk it was a good movie

  • im going to see this movie i like it

  • it seems like there remaking everything now.

  • its because people have realized that they can't be original and make a good movie at the same time (there are exceptions of course), so they have given up and started remaking everything (badly might i add)

  • hey

  • sorry!!! nvmd i clicked on the wrong clip!!

  • Does the new Prom Night have this scene? No? Then I don't want to fucking see it.

  • new prom night sucks. what a pointless remake

  • that was awesome

  • that was awesome

  • where are the jonas brothers?

  • wtc?!

  • LMFAO.

  • Yes how do i get the mp3

  • anyone need the mp3?

  • I WISH I COULD DANCE LIKE THAT

  • My favorite horror slasher film of the early 80's...1980 to be exact! Jamie Lee was in rare form and that cheap dance is the campiest piece of trash...I love it. It always makes me smile and reminds me of how bad our high school dances were...

How said that the actor who played Nick, Jamie Lee's boyfriend, died of AIDS.

  • This is pretty awesome because they filmed this at my old high school, DMCI!

  • hey whats the song called when wendy gets in

lu´s car with the two other guys??

  • awesome awesome song and awesome awesome jamie lee :))))) she absolutely kicks ass

  • this Prom night song is so awesome.

  • This is easily the best part of this "film". I thought I'd end up killing someone before the movie finally ended.

  • What's great about this scene is that right after the dance number is when the killer starts killing everyone. I guess this is what put him over the edge lol.

  • Schlock at it's finest!
