One of the best KSO reviews I have seen, considering that you explain all the things you have done with your KSO's; really shows the shoe's true colors vs. the simple out-of-the-box "review" that many people did with these shoes on youtube.
Use BIKILA LS: Five Fingers version with boot laces and better (imo) waterproofement ;-) One year of daily usage, still no damage. Against the smell: Use a good shoedeodorant, from the first day on and toe socks...every few weeks: wash it with A FEW drops (too much could ruin the material) of essential oils (fabric conditioner cell), or just with normal sport washing gel. Have fun XD
@andrewfitz agreed, I went to Europe (7 different countries) on a ambassador trip and I loved every minute of it, if I had the money I would do it again
I love the shoes, they work great. A little of the glue that connected the rubber came off but I put it back together with a little industrial strength glue :) it hurt a little when I first used em but after a month and a half they felt so good and natural. The only problem is that people give me a lotta crap about them.
i just got a pair of the kso's and went on a run today to try them out and now it feels like my middle toes on my left foot were smashed by a hammer! Did your feet feel like that after you ran in them the first couple of times?
@jstrick114 No, they didn't sorry. I wear a lot of flipflops, so maybe my toes are used to being used? No idea why yours feel like that, maybe your body just needs to get used to it. If it persists after a week of use, you might want to ask a doctor.
@jstrick114 Yeah I weigh 185lbs at 5'10 but I did my first leg work out in these, and wow a little painfull but I am sure my feet have to adjust, the bone's in our feet have to adjust to using the shoes so while they are setting into place it is probably not best to have high impact until our bones have adjusted to the change in shoe's
although so far I am very happy with my new shoes, I am currently on day 3 of wearing them lol it is a bit painfull but still see more positive's
@Arrowstottle i'm just a tad bigger than you, 320lbs at 6'3, but they have gotten better since. i have a 3 mile trail i run and i've been using them for as long as i can and when i feel like i can't go anymore, i switch to my nike 5.0s for the rest of the run. most of it is just toughing it out though but after wearing them running and around the house, they don't hurt near as much and neither do i.
@jstrick114 lol ye a tad bigger than me I have been doing the same, go as far as I can in them then switching back, so far I have noticed my knee and lower back don't hurt as bad, yesterday sure was a beating though but it was to be expected I was repping 300lb squat's and 700lb leg presses so I know what your going through it felt like my bones were fused together before and now are how they are supposed to be each individual knuckle moves.
idk if you feel the same but I see a positive in them
@Arrowstottle I tried something different today and instead of running on the trail I usually do, I ran around the parking lot of my apartment complex using that couch to 5k thing to get used to the shoes and I felt great. The only thing that hurts are my calves and I have a small blister on the end of my big toe. Other than that, I felt a lot better running on asphalt than on dirt! Weird I know but I'm going to keep doing that until I finish the program without pain.
good posts man, think all of your 'build quality' related complaints are due to how you cleaned them. glue def would pull lose if u tumbledry these kinds of things. good luck! :)
Just got mine (same kind). I like them but they are pretty tight, especially around my big toe. Did the shoe as a whole loosen up for you over time and become more loose and easier to put on? Also, the back part is scratching the HELL out of my achilles!
@bodine1231 It really didn't loosen up much TBH. It did because easier to put on after wearing it in a bit and stretching the sole a tad, but if it's too tight now, it's not going to get much looser. Yeah, I got some blisters there if I don't wear socks.
@c0nsci0usness A lot of them spoke broken english, and I learned some turkish for Turkey, but in Thailand and Malaysia, most spoke some English in the cities, so us native English speakers have it lucky.
I had my Nike Free for over a year and I walk at least an hour a day. I have the same problem with the glue. I can still wear them. I might try the Vibram's
sweet! i just bought some thinking to use them to gradually replace my huge backpacking boots. sounds like they worked out great, huh?!! what type of Injinji socks did you use? i was thinking their thin wool would be best particularly for backpacking.
Great reviews dude. I just ordered my vff's and I'm waiting to give them a go soon. You talked about the smell they could get...so is it better to wear them with socks or bare feet would be fine?
@dapm10 I don't think it matters either or, maybe using socks would be less, but they still will smell. Your best bet is to just wash them every so often, Fabreeze works wonders!
@ShaneConlan Thanks for that insight! I'm not a serious runner, so they last a bit longer for me. If I get at least a years worth out of them, I'm happy.
i like how your mouth doesnt match your voice... that realy shows how much effort you put int othe video... lol you should prob fix... (maybe a better backdrop?)
@Lukapoo13 I like how you don't bother to capitalize, use full words or spell check... that really shows how much effort you put into your comment ;) Playing aside, thanks for the suggestion, I do plan on re-recording a video while I'm back in CA, I didn't have time to redo a whole 10 minute talk then.
@andrewfitz I hope they where able to see your review! :) I was thinking about buying the tequila running shoes....Maybe not such a good idea after listening.

Running shoes need to be replaced often because of support and cushion break down. Since the Vibram has neither, this does not apply.
