Oh yes! I was there watching this new upcoming band called His Infernal Majesty. Me and my friend saw Ville after the gig who was just cruising amongst the crowd. We asked about the encore and how the hell they come up with that because it was so horrible and Ville didn´t even remember the words..? The encore was Autiotalo by the Finnish band called Dingo! Anyway, the gig was awesome and I have been following HIM for ever since...

Holy crap, his voice was so much higher back then! None of the rough, gravelly tone he has nowadays... I definitely think his voice matured in a very good way.

He says he'd decided never to attend a Fnnish summer festival unless he performed there, and it worked.

I was there too, saw the HIM gig and still remember it quite well. Main acts for the festival were Bad Religion (they can be seen in the vid), and Megadeth starting their Cryptic Writings tour there.

It was the second Finnish festival for me, so I was a bit more experienced than Ville :D

Too long ago to remember exactly, but it was mostly first album material, although it wasn't released yet. Wicked Game, For You, Your sweet 666 and so on. There could've been songs from "666 Ways To Love" EP also.

yeah, he actually got a lot better I think, people say he was at his best in the beginning but his technique wasn't actually all that great, he's at his best now in my opinion, range wise too

@specialness16 I definitely agree. His control and vocal capability have improved greatly since the early days, and I prefer the simple tone of his voice the way it has been more recently as well.

@Erikofdarkness yeah, tbh though I liked the quality of his voice from 2005 and also, ate 2006 after his voice recovered from tonsillitis - Pukkelpop sounded great i think :)
