I had read a lot about the ripper case and Kelly has always been at top in my list of potential suspects with William Henry Bury and Nathan Kominsky ("Leather Apron"). I really don't like all the sensationalism and the way these documentaries are made but I must admit I find Ed Norris' investigation very interesting and it pretty much confirms my theory about Jack The Ripper's real identity. Thanks for sharing this documentary.
@Bitteulze But I'm wondering where he find that supposed "contemporary sketch" of Jack The Ripper... To me it doesn't seem very likely that such a precise sketch of the Ripper's face could have been made at the time, judging by most witnesses claims.
@Bitteulze As have I. But I side with a former head of F.B.I profilng in his research of the case. People forget that the police standed down right after the last murder. With the extreme pressure from the public to catch the guy they never would have done that UNLESS they had a very good idea who it was. Throw out leather apron and all these other guys cause the police knew that 2 jewish immigrants, Kosminski and Cohen were institutionalized and the murders stopped after they were.
Like another commentator, I tend to go with Kosminski as the most likely of the named suspects. He fits the profile the best. In reality though, he was probably someone who has never been named...a poor local "nobody" that we have not heard of at this point.
Good Documentary - But I doubt that he was jack the ripper, in that case It could have be Francis Tumblety, he was in america at the time and he travelled around. we all have our Pet theories.
@mus139 again, Tumblety didn't fit the profile and Kelley certainly did. Killed his wife by stabbing her and it wasn't until Mary Kelley was killed that he freaked (was avidly suspected) and fled to stateside, not to mention being accounted for in every city where there were killings. I've heard a lot of men associated with being Jack the Ripper, but none of them have fit the profile more than James Kelley. It "feels" right.
it seems they got him finally. but there are still many doubts about it all. Only God and the devil know who this killer was. however, whomever he was and wherever he was, it does not matter anymore, the real killer is dead and for sure, in hell. He escaped human's justice, but he did not escape from God's hands. Nobody does.
@laurids2007 I think it matters some... to understand the psyche and if anything, to show that no matter how much time has passed or how much mystery confounds, there are ways to detect, discover, learn and understand.
What is this show called? I stayed in a resort with the bf and it was on there. We became totally hooked and then had to leave haha. Great upload!

It is bizarre that there were murder-mutilations of women in (apparently) all of the cities Kelly traveled through.

A fun documentary, but unlikely.

Several top investigators have closed the case and it was Aaron Kosminski. Here is my placement of murderers from most likely to least likely:
1.Kosminski 2.Tumblety 3.Kelly 4.Druitt 5.G. Chapman 6.Prince Victor 7.Levy 8.D'Onston 9.Royal Conspiracy 10. Cream 11. Sickert.
