got the same problem in French, we call them boxes (boîtes) too as we should use the official "frame" (conteneurs) instead. As for pannels, we use three different names (panneaux, palettes, fenêtres) it's the jungle in there!!
Help!!! I'm trying to create a merge for a wedding seating plan. I want to have 6 tables on a page with 6 people per table making 36 names per page. I think I could work out how to make an evenly spaced merge but I'd like to group them in 6's after which I can apply simple 'table artwork' to distinguish individual table. I may be overcomplicating my attempts so far but I am just failing epically
what method was used to get the pictures into the excel document? I know an application that will embed them on a PC but am unable to make it work on the mac. every time I export into any one of the formats the entire image column is blank.
@inkxel You type "@" in front of the word "photo" in the first row in the text document. The following rows in that column have the photo name in it (the file name). Then you place the text document in the same folder as the photos. When you chose the document as source in InDesign it recognizes the @ and places the photos. You can see the little icon in the data merge panel change from a character symbol to a picture symbol - it took me a few minutes to figure that out. Hope this helps.
@jvsut I'm trying to do this as well, but whenever I type in @photo in the header, it tells me that function isn't valid. I already have the photo names typed in- what am I doing wrong?
@ammmburrido You type the column names (the "first name", "last name" and "@photo") into the TOP row, it does not go into the header of the document. If you did this, then maybe it has to do with your version of Excel? Hope this helps.
To troll other designers, you should ALWAYS use Comic Sans for examples :)

Question: how do you write the address that has a comma? coz I tried putting " (quotation marks) still doesn't show the whole address.
example: " unit 123, pizza bldg., dough residence, flour city " when i click preview all it shows is " unit 123 and that's about it..
I'm using notepad. any advice?

@ammmburrido you have to put in a single apostrophe in front of the @ so it spells out like:
'@image

I love this guy! I call 'em 'boxes' too! Imagine yelling out "Frames!" in a crowded room. Indesign elitist audience member.
