  • "Oh the humanity!"

  • Stupid Nazi's. They ever hear of Helium? 1s1 < 1s2 in terms of what I want in my blimp.

  • @dreamboat04 You know, its unknown if it was a accident or an attack.

Hitler had many enemies, but that dont stopped him to paint some flylots on the Zeppelin.

    Sorry for my bad english.

  • @dreamboat04 well one of the theories about the cause of the accident is because of an american embargo they had to fill it up with hydrogen instead of helium.

  • @JulyArises They didn't "have" to, they could've realized it was a horrible idea.

  • @dreamboat04 not having tsunami detectors or whatever in the indian ocean til the tsunami struck was an horrible idea, yet there was none so, learn by mistakes. But as I said, its just one of the theories since the cause of the accident is not known for sure.

  • @dreamboat04 1s2 < 1s9 :D

  • lol they died

  • OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

  • .....and people survived that?

  • @MrSqueevoot Amazing isn't it?

  • And here, folks, we have what happens when you mix hydrogen balloons with coatings of iron-oxide and aluminum weather sealants.

    Eeeewwww.

  • @RyanB2112 Gee, is that why they're not building these anymore? LOL!

  • Mythbusters Brought me here

  • @RandomManiac99 me too !

  • @RandomManiac99 same here mate

  • @RandomManiac99 Ghost Hunters Brought me here.

  • never got what's the big deal with it. it was a nazi zeppelin, good riddance.

  • @DaRksHaDoW7686 - This was before the knowledge of what happened in Germany became widely known. The Hindenburg crashed in Lakehurst, New Jersey, meaning that the US allowed it to come over. You may wish to read a bit of history, you may find it interesting. And, of course, hindsight IS 20/20.

  • oh...

    悲しい事故だな

  • God this is so sad, but yet one of those things where you really want ot learn more about, like, uh.....well you get it.

  • Man... that sucks.

  • i never noticed but the camera catches the name hindenberg on the side of the ship as it burns away almost like a movie its tragic

  • This is perfect with 1911 on.

  • Thank you for posting this incredible marriage of film and radio broadcast. the commentary is famous and makes the film all the more horrifying and tragic! What a terrible lossof those innocent passengers and the future to Airship travel! Herbert Morrison is saying "OH THE HUMANITY, and all the passengers screaming around here!" I;m so........I cant even talk to people.....their friends are on there!!!! Its, its, itsa Augh!!! :(

  • No, to all you 13 yr olds just now tuning in, he DOES NOT drop the F*bomb at 1:06. It's just so nice to hear today's TV and Video Game youth hearing all those "dirty words" mommy and daddy taught them not to say in everything nowadays...

Exact quote from 1:00 - 1:14: "Ah! I–I can't talk, ladies and gentlemen. Honest, it's just laying there, a mass of smoking wreckage."

  • @MegaChiaPet My father was on too.

He died when he was wanking in the toilet.

    So sad

  • Oh gott man sieht einige leute unter der hindenburg hervorrennen .. oag .. und traurig

  • on second thought he does say something that sounds like "fucking" at 1:06 lol

  • I'm amazed how formal the announcer stays. Doesn't even swear...

  • thats crazy!

  • Ghost hunters

  • 観察者<わああああ、逃げろおおおお。

  • @DedicatedGamerz Wow really? I always thought he was saying "Oh the humanity". Huh, the more you know. =D

  • this is almost like a foreshadowing of the nazi empire

  • RIP ALL WHO DIED FROM THIS TRADEGY

  • The chemical used to seal the craft was extremely flammable even after it dried. Whether it was due to static buildup or treachery it was horrific to say the least.

  • Is he saying fucking tragic at 1:05 ?

  • @espenkristiansen I think so he did rofl

  • I have heard a rumor that in one of the hindenburg videos it actually shows a rocket hitting the hindenburg. Can anyone help me find the video

  • Wait, don't tell me. Some knucklehead put explosive gas in that balloon.

  • @jeffbw it was the explosive rocket fuel paint on the outside that caused it.

  • DINKLEBURG! oops! ahem! HINDENBURG!

  • 0:35 - 0:44 the hindenburg logo. terrible tragedy. beautiful piece of videography.

  • You can see a person running right next the the fire @ 45 seconds. looks like he runs into it... yup, you can see the person stumbling @ 52 seconds in. Intense is an understatement.

  • goddamnit!!

  • Was he crying??

  • I laughed at "OH TEH HUMANITY!" am i going to hell?

  • does he say mass of fucking wreckage?

  • @tinymrman Mass of smoking wreckage.

  • sounds like he says "fucking russians!" 1:06-1:08 at the end lol. ya I blame them too.

  • OH, THE HUGE MANATEE!

  • This is the way it was meant to be.

  • imagine reporters doing that now... it'd just be rolling coverage of weeping journalists

  • 0:49 There was a guy who has the right Burle =P

  • Should have done a barrel roll...

  • el kabong!

  • hooray for hydrogen!

  • @swimr4life5 lol hyrdrogen

  • there is a cut, isnt it?

  • krass

  • EPIC FAIL!

  • FANTÁSTICO DOCUMENTO!!!

  • Man thats terrible. The thing was on the ground burning in seconds

  • Ah, it blows up. I wanted to pop it xd

  • This is fucking real, saw it on a history show lol

  • When Weather Changed History on The Weather Channel

  • Hindenberg=teabaggers....

    LOL

  • burg (cough)

  • this really is real i saw it on the history channel they were talking about it and showed this exact video

  • why do you think its fake??

it happened and there where cameras...

  • @RevivetheFlowerPower I guess the cameras wanted to welcome the Hindenburg it was very shocking. that it crashed =(

  • Nope! :)

It's a pretty significant event in history, especially to conspiracy theorists.

  • it's real

  • @RE4central: exactly how could this be fake?

  • holy crap...

    germany rocks!!

and may god bless the united states of america

  • Honestly do you even know what the fuck is going on in this video? Or were you just trying to post the most irrelevant and ignorant comment?

  • Hebert Morrison The Announcer

It's practically standing still now. They've dropped ropes out of the nose of the ship, and they've been taken a hold of down on the field by a number of men. It's starting to rain again; it's—the rain had slacked up a little bit. The back motors of the ship are just holding it just, just enough to keep it from — It burst into flames! It burst into flames, and it's falling,

  • O THE HUMANITY!!

  • that thing burned in like 5 seconds..literally!

  • does he drop an F bomb at the end?

  • He says smoking, not f-ing.

  • @DanielThomasDTR ---- No but it does sound that way. He says "smoking wreckage" not ...Fing wreckage

  • ah yeah, i can hear it better now.

  • my teacher told us we should look this up, that was amazing.. it was like 'its so amazing' then a second afterward 'oh my god! RUN!'

    that was really fast!

  • This always gives me chills. The news reporter just sounds so horrified it almost makes me cry D:>

  • @hinatathecookiedemon me to i hope u r ok

  • I notice there are a couple of other camera angles... like, at the start of the video. You have a camera on the starboard side of the ship, maybe. But during the actual crash, you only see the ship from the port side.

Is it possible that there is more than one angle of this? Maybe the tapes were destroyed, or maybe just undiscovered?

  • Yes there is more than one angle, one more tape of this taken by a Japanese camera crew that has survived.

  • @frankp7400

Wow... you know where I can find it? Is it available to the public?

  • Where is this video now?

  • I saw it on TV long long ago...I don't know if it is online. Going to do a search for it though. I'll let you know if I find it.

  • :-( garnicht gut .....

  • led zeppelin's 1969 album has a picture of that!!

  • It looks like someone shot at it. At 0:15, there's like a ripple in it that just popped

  • Lol bullets would not pop that balloon. Do you have any idea just how big it was?

  • this crash is ok because you see obama ,,, obama obama obama .. O .o Excuse me ,, i had a bit of media throw up , obama good george bush bad neither perfect ,, me go shop now to buy many things .. many things ...many things .. .. need many things ..

  • @MadaraUchihaAkat WHY IN THE NAME OF GRAVY WOULD YOU LAUGH AT THIS? YOU SICK TWISTED JERKWAD!

  • What is about the cuts between 14 and 20 seconds???????

  • Who's great idea was it to fly in a giant ballon full of explosive gases? Why don't you just go in a boat full of Artillery Shells...

  • oh the huge manatee!

  • Sooooo not okay; but I thumbs'd up anyway. xD

  • Thank you amerika, that you have not selling us helium. This was the biggest object where ever fly.

  • That ship should not have made the flight but instead should have gotten much needed maintenance. The steel wires used for structural purposes was badly corroded from regular flights over the Atlantic. At least it held up better than the R101.

  • booooom

  • if anyone can find the slightest relation between this accident and the Nazi or George Bush they are insane

  • This is before we were even in the war

  • I read somewhere that if this would have landed, there is an extremely high chance that through Nazi connections in America, Germany would have built the first atomic bomb. Imagine how that would've gone.

  • Hope you're not serious.

Keep on reading "somewhere", and then let's imagine where that will go....

I see an extremely high chance that you'll be posting more nonsense like that in the future.

    Atomic Bomb 1937 ?????

Would be like me asking today "where is hybrid car which fuels on dog poo".....

  • Sorry, just noticed you are only 13 years old. Accept my heartfelt apologies and keep on reading....

    Probably a different book though...

  • It was Bush's fault.

  • @neneshubby no it not he wasn't even born

  • That's one of the most heartbreaking news reports ever , it carries with it all the tragedy of this event ... and 50 years later, for another disaster : the Challenger Space Shuttle Crash , there were absolutely no emotion, not a single word from the journalists who let our eyes witness such a tragic event with sadness and frustration

  • how old are u anyway. this is an american reporting and the nazis were peaceful at this time. ignorant americans

  • what did I say? wtf im so confused all I did was quote a line he said in a funny way. nazis peaceful wtf i didnt say anything about nazi

  • and why the hell re you so protective of the nazis?

  • He's one of them!

  • Peaceful nazis ??? In 1937, the prepared the war !!!

  • Stupid Nazis? This happened in the US, not far from where I live in New Jersey...

  • Jersey Represent Sussex county lol ..aside from that yeh this video is terrible i feel bad for the guy who saw it all . you know that had to suck to witness that ..

  • he said at 1:05 what a fucking rockets?

  • mass of smoking wreckage

  • Do you know how 62 (i think) of the passengers could get out of this ALIVE ?? This must be a miracle..

  • It was 61 people which surived of 96 .

  • OH THE HUMANITY!

  • @MASTACHIEFPWN

I just had an argument about whether or not "Oh the humanity." was a real phrase. This just proves it.

  • So sad...

  • He actually says "massive smoking wreckage."

  • at 1:06 i think he says "massive f***ing wreckage".

  • what actually cause the Hindenburg to crash and burn like that

  • Electrical discharge in the clouds created a spark. The fuel, hydrogen, paint, a bunch of stuff was flammable.

  • Someone was lighting their own farts.

  • they never found out people think lighting hit it and others think that the material it was made out of caused it to catch idk...

  • They ran faster than Ussein Bolt :)

  • Usain ;)

  • OH, THE HUGE MANITEE!!

  • Imagine what this guy would be like at 9/11.

  • That kind of gas doesn't take long to combust.

  • very very quick fire storm! ;-0

Question : Starts the reporter crying at 0:40 ? I think so.

  • Their dies 26 People

  • omg, that must have been terrifying to those people!

  • i love the commentators voice hes one of the best

  • Theres a very hard cut at 0:15 ...

  • At the time of the disaster, when the flames first burst out, all filming had cameras set on the people trying to pull the Hindenburg in. When the flames started they panned up, hence the hard cut. It's like a before-and-after.

  • The were bigger catastrophes with airships, "only" 36 of the 97 people on board died.

btw the Germans ordered helium from America to fill the Hindenburg, but the Americans didnt want to deliver, so the Germans had to use hydrogen.

  • couldnt have used helium, its double the weight of hydrogen so theyd have to double the gas capacity of the ship.

  • hasnt anyone noticed this big cut???

everything is allright and then suddenly its its a flaming fireball???strange no?

  • Responding to you too, at the time when the fire burst out all those who were filming had cameras set on the ground crew, and only after the fire began did they pan up to record it, hence the hard cut. You can also see the camera pan up.

  • @Ultralucker no.

  • Isn't this guy's voice a little high?

  • Comment removed

  • Actually Herbert Morrison had a rather deep voice. On the day of the crash, his sound engineers recorder was running slow, so on playback Morrisons voice sounds higher than it should.

Type in ... Hindenburg Crash - How It Really Sounded ... to listen with the voice restored.

  • @ichthyo he is sad/scared so he's trying not to cry

  • wow,it burned so fast,a miracle anyone survived...

  • OH THE HUMANITY!

  • I think he said smoking

  • lol if i saw that,,,i would say more then just fucking lol

  • did anyone hear him say fucking? listen to 1:05-1:08

  • "I can't talk honestly it's a massive f**king wreckage!"

    Yep, so did I.

He probs said burning, but I heard f**king to.

  • he does i am going to see if there is a video with subs and see if he says that

  • someone "subbed" it above, but this footage is from 1937, so any sub or closecaptioned version u find is just someone listening to it and typing what they hear like above, so really, their is no way to tell, i dont think they said "fuck" alot back then, but it sure does sound like it.

  • I read somewhere that it's "smoking wreckage"

  • "massive smoking wreckage"

  • wat a fail.....

  • this was the badest day in life befor 11th september ! :(

  • PLAY THEM OFF KEYBOARD CAT!!!

  • Lesson to be learned: FIRE and HYDROGEN don't mix.

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder how anyone could survive this Oo

  • That was waaay back when reporters were allowed to have emotion.

  • tomorrow is the day the hindenburg crashed
