in 2 days i went through all you guys' Gunpla TV episodes. I have just oredered some beginner kits and i'm allready making a list of all the ones i want to build. Thanks Syd and Ryan. Hope to see more and more episodes.
Hey guys just wondering if HLJ will stock the RG FX-550 Skygrasper for the RG Aile Strike? Coz I could'nt find it on the HLJ site.. Thx Ryan and Syd~ :)
hi syd and ryan, can you guys review to us about mospeada model kits from wave when it releses? i'm very curious about eta legios kit from wave. thank you.
Can you show us some examples of a beginner/intermediate/advanced entries? Also, if we win, could we get something that's not a kit? For example, I might want to have 1 MG kit, 1 SD kit, and then a gundam marker set. Would that be ok if its still within the money cap or is it strictly just model kits?
Question for Syd, you said in one of the previous eps that you could not get into the Gundam shows with old animation and that Unicorn is your favorite because its new and has high quality animation. But what about Gundam 00? Have you even watched it?
hi syd, hi ryan, thanks again for a great show. by the way can you guys improve the audio a bit, it's a bit low compared to the other hobbylink shows. I have the Gunbuster and Dancougar D-Style and yeah for the price point its nice to have them painted though the plastic that Kotobukiya use is a bit more fragile compared to the ones Bandai use. Just an observation. looking forward to the next episode.
I just got my PG 1/60 Wing Zero and MG 1/100 Shin Musha Sengoku no Jin in the mail and I am so excited to start. Finding your company was one of the greatest events ever and I am really gaining from your tips about building and painting. Question about painting: How do I find the colors that are designated in order to paint my models properly? I sadly cannot read Japanese and I want to make sure I get as close to exact as possible. What do you guys suggest?
It is good to have you guys back! I used to download the podcast from iTunes so I could watch the latest episode from my phone during lunch breaks etc. After a while I started getting errors and wasn't able to download the episodes.
Looking forward to seeing the Falcon getting put together. The kit bashing stuff sounds fun too! Keep up the good work!
Hi Guys, big fan of the show. This coupled with the release of the RG RX-78 sucked me back in to building Gunpla. Anyway I have a question: I heard from friends that when spraying metalics, its best to use gloss black as a primer and then do the coat of metalics, this is with allclad paints, does this apply to Tamiya spray paints as well ? I ask cause those cans are my main source of painting. Ps: Thank you Sid for the replacement canopy for my core booster for my RG -78 Gundam.
Hey Syd and Ryan! I love the show and watch it every week. I have a question for Syd: Since Bandai is focusing on Seed MG kits this year, does this mean we won't be seeing MG remakes of Shenlong Custom, Sandrock Custom and Heavyarms Custom? They went and did the Deathscythe Hell but why stop now? Also I'd like to see a review on the kotobukiya 1/72 Arbalest(if possible). Anyway keep on doing what you do best. And Ryan; good luck with the Millennium Falcon! Can't wait to see the WIP sections.
Ryan, I've heard that Millennium Falcon is a very intricate kit with tons of small parts - but there's no reason you can't do a good job with it if you take your time. The paint scheme is pretty simple, and if you have no airbrush, you could use pastel powders for the weathering.
As for the question of whether to assemble or paint first: it's always tricky. Assembling first can make painting harder and vice versa. The usual answer is to assemble what you can without making the painting too hard.
I honestly can't stand AGE. This is coming from someone who like G Gundam, the goofiest gundam spinoff of them all ( though much of it is nostalgia factor). On that note, I would love to see more HGFC kits, specifically the maxter and dragon gundams. The new Wing EW MGs look amazing! So does the Banshee!
its annoying how kotobukiya puts prepainted details on their d-style kits...its good for beginners who dont paint but its annoying because it looks so good out of the box that you almost dont want to paint it. and guys WHAT ABOUT THE D-STYLE GAOGAIGAR!!!!! you should definitely show it next episode.
Hah. Its funny that you refrain from commenting on Kotobukiya plastic. I love the HMM Zoids line, but i HATE the plastic. Bandai plastic quality wins hands down.
Im still holding out bandai will make more of the Grunts from gundam seed in to high grades, and a HGUC Galbaldy beta kit. I think the grunts from seed have a good chance since they finaly did the lagoowe and the remastering.
Gundam Age is not that bad it's getting better with the new season oh and try watching the first episode of gundam age before watching episode 16 thats wear the new season starts.
Hello Syd and Ryan, thanks for always doing the Gunpla tv, i never miss a single episode, and i do miss the 'tutorial' segment of the show, which has been gone in the latest episode, though i still enjoy the review and preview. I have a question for both of you, as a foreigner in Japan, what's the thing that you missed the most from your country now? And Ryan, who's your favorite star wars character?
hi syd and ryan! could you tell us what is the difference between the upcoming MG Gundam Unicorn Banshee OVA and MG Gundam Unicorn Banshee Ver Ka (Final Battle version)? Thanks!
The simplest description for Gundam Extreme Vs. is that it is 2v2 3rd person fighting game. Similar to Virtua On if you have ever played that. I'd buy the game if I could afford the $90 for an import copy.
Also, many of the newer SD/BB Gundam kits offer the same amount of detail and articulation as the D-Style kits except of course that none of the parts come pre-painted so they still come with big foil sticker sheets.
Extreme VS. is somewhat most Gundam fans are looking at. It's even highly rated than Musou and the game's considered as easy to pick up, but difficult to master everything :)
I would love seeing you guys revisit spray painting especially, for the Millennium Falcon.
I have a question regarding spray paint/air brushing and removing seem lines. I want to custom paint a kit of mine, but I also want to remove the seem lines. The problem is that is I paint the pieces first then remove the seem lines I am afraid that I will remove the paint. But if I glue the pieces together first and remove the seem lines and then paint, how will I put the part back on the frame?
Extreme Vs. is fairly different from Gundam Musou; it's more like a beat 'em up, except with guns, and 2 on 2 battles. Not a very good explanation, but a YouTube search is all it takes to get an idea of the gameplay.
Also, it's great having the videos back; was checking HobbyLinkTV quite a bit near the middle of January in hopes of an update.
They need to make a MG for all the EW versions period. Why stop at onlyTalgeese? So far the only EW versions that have both designs are Wing and Deathsythe.
@hobbylink I think we're gonna see the MG Sandrock Kai, MG Heavyarms Kai, and MG Nataku soon. But I really hope that we get a MG Exia Repair 2 since I feel like that kit would make the MG 00 series complete. A MG 0 Gundam would be amazing too. If you can, please give those suggestions to Bandai... Please! =D
won't they be releasing any gw ova versions anymore?
