Hopefully this will work for you (I read this tip from someone on Amazon's reviews - thank U, George O!):
Make sure your power adapter is plugged in to your macbook and that you are logged in. Turn the macbook over and take the battery out. Insert battery in again. I did not put the mac to sleep or anything like that. It seems to be working for me. Good luck!! P.S. I also have the battery update 1.4 installed & running 10.5 Leopard because 10.6 makes the fan run louder & drains battery faster.
Is there anyway to charge a macbook without a charger? Like with an iphone or something? plz help i have no charger and i dont want to buy another one.
Do not leave your computer plugged in all day. Once its green, unplug it... If you don't you will kill the battery cells and will loose the abiblity to hold a charge for a long perioud of time. I suggest, taking out the battery, and use the computer with out the battery plugged in and plugging in a mouse, keyboard, and externial speakers and getting a Mini DVI to VGA adapter for a external moniter to use it as a desk top and give your battery a break
Well, when I got my MacBook my battery was not charging at all. I tried getting new batteries, chargers everything. I then thought, whats the point. I sit on my laptop all day with my charger in anyway. But today, my charger light went orange and started charging, I'm not sure what happened, I was watching a film and it just started charging, I had it for about four days when that happened. I think if you just keep your charger in and maybe it might start charging, good luck. Hope this helps?
i had the same problem. Apple botched that, So they came up with an update which i missed. Someone at apple told me after 600 cycles its just finished. But it worked, from time to time, Truth was, the macbook didnt recognize the battery anymore, Apple should have just admitted to it. But they didnt
you have to push Fn+contr +shift +power button and when you hear sound of your butting system you have to push alt/option too, after your system boot you have to turn of computer and do smc restet and thats all
@swaydizzsillymj try putting it on your fridge and hen let it take normal heat then try connecting it to your mac andif i revives go download coconut battery pm stats take battery out and waitor my response
my computer has the same exact problem it has an x in it but sometimes also has a 0 percent sign but always a green light on the power adapter and when I unplug it it shuts down
@TheMinegarde Yeah. Okay. But the battery shouldn't be drained after 200 cycles. Apple's batteries are supposed to last at least 4 years, or 1,00 cycles.
i have a problem where it says that its completley charged but it says not charging then when i take the charger out it shuts down. Then i went on google and it said unplug the charger press the power button down for 5 secs i did that and the fan went which(which never happend before) and it started up right away (which never happened before) but now it says that i have no battery and it has a x
Did you ever figure it out? My roomie's MacBook 15" does not show that it is charging and the message on it's desktop says 'Replace the Battery'...sounds like a plan but I was just wondering what you decided about your machine...thanks.

An x in the battery can be caused by a bad connection where the battery connector plugs into the logic board

I solved some of the problem by pressing my charger really hard into my MacBook pro. Then the green light lights up and it charges the battery.
