hey does anyone have a better video of the opening love to see it. i agree the green backdrops kind of boring. they should redo it and make it into like an arena show/cirque du solei show but keep the music. i bet that would sell.
Looks like the dutch version is much, much better. It's playing 2 years now, and sold out almost every day. Weird it didn't sell in Broadway.. I liked it sooooooooo much! It was fantastic!
i agree with your pirate queen statement fully. i loved that show. But Tarzan we kind of a differrent show to grasp. because during a scene someone would fly in and say "Oh hey" tarzan while they were taking off the harnest. and it would be distracting. The lights and sets and costumes were cool but the story wasn't there
Actually I believe we run a little over a year, the show may have closed earlier but the producers were in the Netherlands putting their version together.
The Dutch Tarzan is more spectacular. Because in the Fortis Circus Theater(Dutch theatre) they have more space and room for the setting. They also used the two sides wich is 4 metre each, extra setting! And the monkey's almost jump into the audience. Tarzan also comes out of the audience, at some points, with his 'bungeejumprope'. He almost flies down from the seiling. It's fun to see the difference.
i haaaaaaaaate the fact that they have him singing that!! hello! hes just a baby!! grr! i mean i know hes not supposta be himself yet, but common people!! get some like lead singer gorrilla (kinda like a rafiki character) to sing all that stuff!!
yeas im! youre right its the opening song! but someone have to sing the opening song isn't? and who? the grow-up-tarzan, i've seen it backstage on tv,
Tarzan the musical is only on Broadway and in a Dutch theatre (Fortis CircusTheater Scheveningen)...
BTW: dutch opening was way more spectaculair.. Our gorillas flew trough the audience xD Fortis CircusTheater is more capable to do more flying stuff etc...
WoW...the stage is pretty small. Its much bigger in Hamburg/Germany...and the Gorrilas are everywhere in the theatre

That was the original plan, but they had to settle for this theatre because none other were available.

@elphabasfriend001 The staging was TERRIBLE!!!!! When it's redone, differently, it will totally take off. It's got potential.

At first you're not supposed to know that it is the grown-up Tarzan singing that... It's just the opening song..

yeas its the opening, but all the music in the musical is live! soo the grow up tarzan is singing it backstage

Dahh.. Didn't I say that then??
Quote: "it is the grown-up Tarzan singing that".
I was just saying that you're not supposed to know that when the opening song starts, 'cause you haven't met the Big-Tarzan in the musical yet..
