@KiddJetix Really. Way! I can personally vouch for some of the things written in John Gorman's book "The Buzzard". I saw them happen. Gorman was a true leader at 'MMS in its heyday and I have a lot of respect for the guy.
Someday I'll discuss the 1978 Meatloaf concert at the old Cleveland Agora (now CSU property) and how a very overweight Meatloaf had to go offstage every other song to suck on oxygen...
@KiddJetix Just supporting what you said, and adding a little color commentary. I miss the old WMMS. I got to party with a bunch of them at the Statler Office Tower in the late 70's and early 80's. Those were great times.
@KiddJetix Yes, that is Jeff doing the voiceover. He was there before Flash. The two were a great team. Now you have assholes like Maxwell. The station sucks. Thank God they retired the buzzard - it was with the previous generation, not today's group of idiots.
I am 45 I am glad I was part of Cleveland rock radio history..The crap and smut on 100.7 is a disgrace to my generation and the many generations who were raised on rock n roll...Rover and Maxwell should pray to Len Goldberg for tips on knowing music and being djs,,,not Stern wannabees....
Well sadly the only way to bring in the younger demographic is dick jokes and strippers. Then again if you hear some of the new rock out there, no wonder they don't focus on the music.
Remember the days when MMS used to stuff the ballot box to win Rolling Stone's station of the year? Good times.
