I miss the original 24/7 Cartoon Network format. Back in the day, when Cartoon Network had a mix of classic cartoons like Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, Jetsons, and Flintstones, and contemporary ones like Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, PPG, and many others. Now, its not the case today. I mentioned this during my broadcasting class presentation since it was about Turner Broadcasting. I also mentioned that original fans either switched to Boomerang or stopped watching altogether.

I liked Cartoon Network prior to 1998. The bumpers and promos were creative and the shows were awesome. After 1998, they took off all of their old shows and moved them to Boomerang (I didn't get Boomerang until 2007). I never liked any of the Cartoon Cartoons and I'm probably one of the few who thought Adult Swim wasn't really for adults but for high school and college kids.

IIRC, that was the interstitial the network signed on the air with on Oct. 1, 1992. I don't recall when we stopped using it in the US.

We used it on the Latin America feed (translated into Spanish) as late as 2000.

Yup, that's the common consensus amongst those who grew up with '90's Cartoon Network. Indeed, many channels have long lost their original meaning and goals. It's bound to happen whether we like it or not. It's the only way the channels can stay afloat. Look at "Boomerang", CN's sister station. Steadily becoming a "Cartoon Network Too", airing CN's leftovers from 2-3 years ago.
