for some reason I always pictured a GSD with this song.....we lost our GSD Ryder about 8 months ago, he was 12 or 13 though, he had a good life with us, too bad the two or three years before that weren't so good.

I use to have a shepard exactly like this named jake when i was a little kid , he had cancer so we put him down , he was one of the greatest dogs any one could ever have , he was always by your side and would never hurt a fly , and for this video i thank you alot. :)
I have two sheperds that go to work with me everyday and sleep by my bed at night. They are my best friends without a doubt. I feel for you. I have lost two over the course of my life, but i see pieces of them in the two i have now. Time will heal your wounds and good times will be what you remember. Jake will be there waiting for you!

Thank you for this tribute. In the past 6 weeks we have lost both of our male Shepherds, and ironically enough, our Jake and Bogart could have been the parents of your Jake... Your Jake looks like the perfect combination of our two. This tribute really struck a chord because our Jake passed last night at 11 years old.
When I was growing up I had a toy collie, I called Scout. I named him that 'cause I was in love with the "Lone Ranger" series. Named him after Tonto's horse Scout who didn't get as much press as Silver did I left home and don't even know where Scout is burried. I miss him and wish I could make up to him what I lost

the 3 people that dis like this have never lost a dog and gone through the pain that ive gone through. my dog jake, was a german sheperd black lab. he loved jumping. well one day we improved his cage and put a banndana on him and his sister he jumped out and his bannda got cuaght on the fence and his sister had to listen to him struggle to breath. so this song is really touching to me.

I just had to put my chocolate lab down yeasterday morning. I had him for 12 years. I feel lost without him being with me. We were never apart for more than a day. I know how all of you feel. He showed me the true meaning of unconditional love and loyalty.
My Shepherd died when I was 12 in my arms. He had just turned 12. I wish I had been a little older so that I could have taken more pictures and videos of him. I have gone through a few home videos and found short clips of him on there. He died in 07 and I still have hard time with it. I have a tattoo in memory of him. One tat I will NEVER regret getting. He was the best dog ever. I never thought I would love another dog ever again. But I have two dogs now. Not sheps, I'll get another soon

Reminds me of my german shepherd, jake, ur's evn kinda looks like him......i guess all that we can do is just be glad they are havin fun still with all the other dogs in heaven.....
i had germen shepherd and have chow he was the best dog i had i miss him i had to move and couldnt take him so i gave him to a real good friend and i told her if she cant keep him tell me but she didnt she just throw him out like he was nothing but he was he was a good dog he loved the kids he would walk with them to the store and wait for them and he would come back to i miss him

This is the most touching thing I have seen in a while. I've lost many pets that I, just like you mourned over the loss of them. sad. i know its about dogs but my cat has a small hole in his heart. please pray. he was born may 12 2010 and is young. hes a sweet tiny black cat. he has a brother and sister. one of his sibblings died in birth. it took me a few days for me to get the courage to burry the kitten. i dont want to burry another one. pray
I have one dog almost 12 and I can't face the day he will go. Even with another here. I still miss a dog we had to give up on at his age of 10, becuse we were homeless and the shelter wouln't let us keep him there no more. My son won't forgve us. He agreed to give the dog a good home & we found one. But he's an adult now & holds it againt us. My eyes tear when I see this lovely tribute. No matter who you loved or what. It has or she has past and this is a wonderful tribute indeed.

jake looks like a bamf. the perfect dog. my lab was looking out the window of my VW one night and a woman asked me if her name was jake.. lol.. I took it as an honour. Jake is what you change your dogs name to when it proves to be one-hell-of-a-dog. jake is the shit!!!
We put our dog Nakita down in May :( I was there with her when it happened, its not easy to watch :'( I miss her so very much, my friend has a puppy also named Nakita and it has parvo they dont think it will survive :( its very sad.

I completely know your pain. My dog has been missing since Friday evening and I just found him. I'm sure going to miss him so much. He was a part of the family and I havent even told my girlfriend and kids yet. Ive spent all day putting flyers up and trying to find him. I'm just glad I was able to find him before Donna and the kids did.
@kingknucklehead69 I know how ya feel man. I best friend had a pit bull and he was 15 years old but they had to finally put him down. I was there when he was born, and for some reason he liked me better than my buddy. lol When ever he heard a loud car that sounded like my camaro he would rush to the window and look outstide to see if it was me I guess. But I guess if I was there and didn't take him anywhere before I left you would howl, and cry. lol I sure am going to miss Blade.

I moved thousands of miles away from my dogs. They were old and would've never lived through the quarantine, so I left them with their "dad". One passed away in October last year and the other gave up on life without his best buddy. Although it's been months, I still miss them so, and I will see them at the Rainbow Bridge some day. I have Kes, a one year old GS and having her, eases the pain. There is no love like that of a devoted pet.

My Bear passed a few months ago. He was GREAT. Today we rescued Jake from the shelter. He is a German Shepherd and about 5 years old. I hope he stays with us for years to come...and I think I am VERY lucky, 'cause it looks like he's great too.

I'm so sorry about Jake. My Mom's bf in highschool died when he was 19, she was 17, but before he died he gave her a dog, GG. She was 3 years, almost 4 years older than me, and my Grandparents had her for years, she was 18 when she died in 2003. My whole life I grew up with her, it was so hard to lose her, she was my best friend from the time I was born, I still miss her so much. This song makes me think of her, and our friend's dog passed away recently, so I've been thinking about her a lot.

i had germen shepherd and have chow he was the best dog i had i miss him i had to move and couldnt take him so i gave him to a real good friend and i told her if she cant keep him tell me but she didnt she just throw him out like he was nothing but he was he was a good dog he loved the kids he would walk with them to the store and wait for them and he would come back to i miss him

This is the most touching thing I have seen in a while. I've lost many pets that I, just like you mourned over the loss of them. I respect this video so much and so glad there are people like yourself in this world. I am sorry for your loss and I hope when it is your time you two will meet up like old times. Who ever the three "dislikes" are, they must not have a heart. He was a adorably handsome Shepherd and appreciate he had an owner such like yourself. Thank you for posting.

sad. i know its about dogs but my cat has a small hole in his heart. please pray. he was born may 12 2010 and is young. hes a sweet tiny black cat. he has a brother and sister. one of his sibblings died in birth. it took me a few days for me to get the courage to burry the kitten. i dont want to burry another one. pray

I have one dog almost 12 and I can't face the day he will go. Even with another here. I still miss a dog we had to give up on at his age of 10, becuse we were homeless and the shelter wouln't let us keep him there no more. My son won't forgve us. He agreed to give the dog a good home & we found one. But he's an adult now & holds it againt us. My eyes tear when I see this lovely tribute. No matter who you loved or what. It has or she has past and this is a wonderful tribute indeed.

We put our dog Nakita down in May :( I was there with her when it happened, its not easy to watch :'( I miss her so very much, my friend has a puppy also named Nakita and it has parvo they dont think it will survive :( its very sad.

I lost my best friend six years ago.
A Golden Retriever at the age of 13, to Arthritis.
This has been his song since we first found the song itself.
Just a week ago he crossed my mind again.
And he hasn't left. This song make me cry, but in a good way.
It reminds me of all the good memories we had together.
And I'm sorry about your dog. Dogs truely are the better side of most, and losing them leaves us in darkness. It's horrible, but knowing we gave them our all is a good feeling.

I completely know your pain. My dog has been missing since Friday evening and I just found him. I'm sure going to miss him so much. He was a part of the family and I havent even told my girlfriend and kids yet. Ive spent all day putting flyers up and trying to find him. I'm just glad I was able to find him before Donna and the kids did.

@kingknucklehead69 I know how ya feel man. I best friend had a pit bull and he was 15 years old but they had to finally put him down. I was there when he was born, and for some reason he liked me better than my buddy. lol When ever he heard a loud car that sounded like my camaro he would rush to the window and look outstide to see if it was me I guess. But I guess if I was there and didn't take him anywhere before I left you would howl, and cry. lol I sure am going to miss Blade.

one of our German Shepherds 'Oscar' died Sunday morning, he was 12yrs. old,
it's been really upsetting cuz he seemed pretty healthy. my husband and I have been crying for days, he was some dog. We loved him so much.

Love the song. Been there done that. Not keen on sheps as been a lab guy all my life. Bonding with a dog is fabulous, however their lives are shorter than ours and our tears are for a family friend. Never kept any of my many labs outside..they were family! Cheers!

Furry family that you could always count on to be there happy to see you. I miss my shepherd Klauss everyday, he was the best dog in the world and all others I ever have will be unfairly compaired to him. I moved thousands of miles away from my dogs. They were old and would've never lived through the quarantine, so I left them with their "dad". One passed away in October last year and the other gave up on life without his best buddy. Although it's been months, I still miss them so, and I will see them at the Rainbow Bridge some day. I have Kes, a one year old GS and having her, eases the pain. There is no love like that of a devoted pet.

i lost a chow that i was blessed to have for 17 years 2 years ago and there isn't a day goes by i dont think about her and the fun she always was. Her name was "spooky". All dogs are good dogs...a rare few are great. If you are VERY lucky, you will have one once in your life.
My Bear passed a few months ago. He was GREAT. Today we rescued Jake from the shelter. He is a German Shepherd and about 5 years old. I hope he stays with us for years to come...and I think I am VERY lucky, 'cause it looks like he's great too.

I'm so sorry about Jake. My Mom's bf in highschool died when he was 19, she was 17, but before he died he gave her a dog, GG. She was 3 years, almost 4 years older than me, and my Grandparents had her for years, she was 18 when she died in 2003. My whole life I grew up with her, it was so hard to lose her, she was my best friend from the time I was born, I still miss her so much. This song makes me think of her, and our friend's dog passed away recently, so I've been thinking about her a lot.

What a sad song! I haven't heard it in years. My dog is a tri-colored border collie mix and she is so friendly . . . but she's going to be 13. We've had her for 10 years and I hope we have her for a little while longer. She used to live next door to us but thank God their neglectful owners moved and they gave her to us. This is a very nice tribute to your dog, I'm dreading the day it happens to my dog. :(

Such wonderful, loving dogs. Sorry for your loss. We lost our GSD "ipo" last June, she was 10. As much as it hurt to lose her, I am getting another GSD in two weeks. And you know what??? When the time comes for my new dog to leave, I will grieve for her, and will most certainly have more GSDs in my life. I love these dogs!
