  • oh man the ending is ALSO awesome

  • don't get so phony. we all know dmb is a band composed of many musicians and they know what they're doing.

now lets listen to Boyd Tinsley. (and his unexpected vocal stuff) ;-)

  • why would you come watch this and say the lyrics a terrible and the song is bad? it's boyd not only playing but singing a song that he composed... you might never see that again... he could be singing verses out of the koran while carter pounds on a trashcan and it would still be fuckin cool

  • I LOVE CORNY!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG! BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER UP DATE OF IT, CUZ I CANT FIND ON IN 2010 OR 11 BUT IT'S GREAT! WOOWHOO!

  • tinsley wrote this like 17 years ago

  • i had never heard boyd even talk, let alone sing.........i like it

  • Boyd Tinsley, when you look into a mirror, I like whats looking at you..... You make me cream my pants.

  • Haha this sucks. It sounds good (of coarse, it's DMB), but the lyrics are terrible, well not terrible, but corny, and I'm not feeling this at all

  • Great song to up lift a brotha or sista that is not knowing which direction to go on there path...... yesss

  • If I am not mistaken, this is from the 6.26.03 show at Starlake. Amazing quality... and I there too :)

  • @chromium73 Correct, it is from that show! ;-)

  • @lebronsmyboy6 "find some inspiration. It's down deep inside of you."

I feel it is a wast of time and energy to "hate."

  • boyd tinsley, u are SO underrated

  • @Connorchaos oh hell yeah he most defiantly, he's freakin' awesome, such talent, google his name, enjoy...

  • butch. bah

  • Well you cant listen to music so one sided lyrics are not everything people forget about the music behind the lyrics. Although I feel the lyrics are awsome so positive this world is full of death and negativity. This world needs more things that make you feel positive and I feel that the Dave Matthews Band and his musicians bring that to the table like no one else ever EVER have.

  • @nlittlejohn24 I agree, BUT please don't forget that this is NOT "Dave Matthews and his musicians"... It's a band, which is called Dave Matthews Band ;-)

  • @nlittlejohn24 yesss Brotha he is positive for the world to see and hear!

  • @nlittlejohn24 This isn't a DMB song - it's a cover of a Boyd Tinsley song

  • i love dmb but i hate this song

  • @lebronsmyboy6

It's just not very good. The music is decent, the lyrics are terrible.

  • Lyrics to live by :) LOVE DMB!!!

  • GREAT SONG LIVE :)

  • butch taylor ladies and gentlemen.

  • holy shit is it just me or is stefan blowing doors down!..... fucking bass players are like linemen(am. football)... no credit, but make the show possible... bassline makes this song rock

  • leave the singing to dave lol.

  • Not a bad song, but i would not like to hear it at a Dave show, If i was going to a D&F w/ Boyd i guess, or a Boyd Tinsley concert i would love to hear this song....So dont get my wrong, good song, but @ a DMB concert i would rather not hear this...IMO.

  • Beautiful

  • kings of groove ^_^ love them!

  • He flips his hat off of his head in the middle of his solo (2:56)

  • just look at his face when he starts playing the violin. he's so amazing!!!!

  • BRING IT BACK BOYD 2010 TOUR BABY!!!

  • wow never new this was boyd tinsley. Didnt even know he could sing. Damn that makes this songs just that much cooler

  • Anyone else see it? The slide/hammer thing that Dave does....sounds like Jimi Thing eh???

  • Thank you for sharing this. Very awesome.

  • This is so cool!!!

  • no one in this band should go solo, they co-exist in harmony in every song. Although i will definitely support Boyd Tinsley if he cuts an album =D

  • He did go solo his album was called "true reflections" even though it didn't as many copies as Dave's solo cd did. But cumon who in the band would out sell dave goin solo.....Even though they're all great musicans is their own degree. Dave is the glue that holds them all together. Without the frontman you have nothing. RIP Leroi

  • was this supposed to be released on dvd or something because its amaing pro shot quality.

  • say what you want, you can't deny that when Boyd gets behind that fiddle, magic happens

  • 8=======D~~

  • it was so cool watching him go into solo (boyd tinsley) =D

  • damn hes good at singin

  • all the non talents are critics. You can't even muster up the bits to attempt this feat,or even come close to the artistry displayed here. People really need to gain an existence besides dissin levels of life of which you have zero knowledge. Bugs the heck out of me. write positive, keep the negative to yourself

  • Comment removed

  • carters gloveless

  • hehe... leroi had to finish boyd's solo cuz boyd couldn't hear himself or his violin anymore after his beanie came off with his in-ear monitor. From the stage set up, looks like all you'll hear on stage on those volume levels are carter's drumming and stefan's bass since everyone is using IEMs...

  • how much do i love this tune, sick

  • :DD

  • does anybody know what the chord is that dave plays during the second jam?

  • i think its Am F

  • TRUE REFLECTION!

anyone can relate to this number, thanks for uploading it bruh!

  • what fell off of boyd that the tech. guy had to fix?

  • his hat

  • not having a monitor on stage makes it really hard to have a balanced sound of everyone playing... really hard to play together if you can't hear each other well...

  • the tech removed the in-ear monitor from the hat.

  • Boyd Rules!!

    Rocks at vocals and violin

    SICK!!!!

  • i love this song i was surprised at his voice

  • hes not tht bad but yea i think he should stick to the violin

  • his vocals on listener supported is much better, but it's a great song IMO

  • i was a little skeptical when i saw boyd released his own cd.... but not bad, i like him better as a violinist

  • This song needs a comeback

  • let dave stick to the lyrics!

  • i hope that someday they start playing this song again

  • thanks for this man!

  • this is no doubt a classic. I bet boyd could belt it out now a days

  • Love this song. Sad it's a dead song now.

  • What's the source of this video? The quality is great. Is the full show available like this?

  • this song and this exact version is on the Listeners Supported CD

  • false. listener supported is from 99. this is an 03 show

  • As someone stated earlier in the comments, then this most likely is from 6.27.03, at Post Gazette Pavilion

  • @archbah replying to that comment, its been a year but it is from post gazette 6/27 we were there that year and i can remember this only thanx to you tho, really preciate the upload, bringn back memories tanks

  • nope, sorry

  • its from 6.27 because he's wearing a Pittsburgh Pirates jersey.

  • when you look into a mirror... do you like whats looking at you... now you've seen your true reflections... what on earth are you gonna do?

fucking fantastic line... music is garbage in this song, but lyrics are great

  • awful awful song...like something that i'd expect to see on reading rainbow

  • Maybe it's awful for you, for others it's not ;-)

  • i agree completely

  • You are out of your damn mind... this song has one of the bands best lyrical verses

  • this song has some of the worst lyrics of all time dude.

  • @mikepugliese Moron

  • @proudestmikey No one is a moron on here, as you are entitled to have your individual opinion about the music... So keep the language nice ;-)

  • thats good

  • I´m a drummer and once upon a time i sing in my church and when i start the first song i screw up to, but then just follow my rhythm and my soul of musician and everything was just not bad, so, GO BOYD, `cause i know what is sing with a lot of nervous

  • English...?

  • He probably means that Boyd is not the natural born singer, but that he does it well enough.

and I agree - Boyd isn't the best singer, and he shows some nervousness (not least in the beginning)... But he gets better throughout the number; and the music in this number is just great (IMHO)

  • Yeah, I know, I was just being an ass lol

but I 100% agree with everything you both said

  • I like how Boyd starts getting into the second verse more after he gets done with his solo. Its like at first he was a little nervous, but once he got to bust out his violin he came out of his shell. Yay Boyd!

  • awesome stuff, thanks man!

  • this is from 6.27.03 at Post Gazette Pavilion.

  • Thanks my friend - The place I got the source file from only stated that it was from the 2003 tour.

    So thanks!!

  • boyd cant sing....

  • No he's not the best singer, but it's not about that - it's about if you have what it takes on stage, and Boyd have! and he can play the violin... this is a very good number.

  • Yeah... can you sing???

  • thats not really the point, they are professional musicians...and boyd should leave the singing to dave. i do like most earlier versions of this song where boyd's voice sounds much better...this is just painful

  • Might be painful for you - might not for others; like me ;-)

  • to each his own

  • thanks for posting this.
