although MK2 has more power, it's heavier as well, that's the reason we couldn't see much difference between them... And I agree with holianl, Shell all the way!!!
@telhacerta No, the mk1 has an air filter on and the mk2 has puma 1.7 manifold, duratec 2.0 throttle body, miltek exhaust manifold and handmade exhaust.
mk 2 will win anyway because its the newer car i have a zetec s 09 plate 1.6 and its well quicker then the 1.8 mk2 i had befor
if anyone is looking for a bit more power in ure petrol or desal got to a shell garage and get the v power its more money but you will now the difrence after a couple of fill ups
@holianl 1.8 Mk2 has a different engine than Mk1 1.8. Also consider the different emission regulations between Mk1 & Mk2, as well as the fact that the certain Mk2 has 19" wheels on!
