That's a similar posture us Christians use while praising God. But men and women alike. It is very deep what you can achieve in your interior once you let go of all that surrounds you and concentrate. Because we are all spirits inside. And we need not to lose that but embrace and feed it.

I think its a matter of taking what you can apply to your own beliefs.

For example I practice Yoga, at home. Being a Christian I often get questioned about it. But I like it, and makes me relax so much. What I do is that I meditate and think about God while I'm at it. And it helps... some may approve, others might not. But I feel peace inside. I guess this might be an example of it. So don't worry :-)

Well my personal belief is that an almighty God couldn't possibly be so angry over little things like yoga etc. At worst, wouldn't they just be mildy annoyed or something, because they can see inside you to your intentions. If your intentions are good, surely that would count for something?

I wonder if that posture is used to symbolise the receptivity of the Bride (ie the church attendees - taking a Biblical reference) to God? Just my heathen ponderings LOL :D

your correct, "clothes do not a man or woman make" ahh, meditation,,the LOCK to all things good. meditation is used by all religions, there fore it is universal. the key is education, you are helping to educate people, and there fore will help them to open the lock. you go girl!

Thanks RJ :) I want to make sure I am very specific cos I have read the Bible and it says all these horrible things will happen to you, even if you perhaps had your tarot cards read. I wouldn't want someone to do something I advised them to do and then be worried their deity would reject them. It could cause them some severe distress.

I agree meditation is universal, prayer is a form of meditation; meditation on a goal. Very similar techniques are used in ritual, it's just a bit more elaborate.
