  • "Got heeeeem!"

  • Got heeeeeeeeeeeeeemm!!!

  • Imagine how he'll feel when he finds out he threw from his knees lol

  • get fucking gunned son

  • Wow haha

  • They're running in and there is only 1 out?

  • @aelmiami

the batter struck out and bryce harper threw the other guy out at second. so it was a double play. 3 outs

  • this about the most bad ass thing i have ever seen in baseball

  • WTF?????

  • Is it me or did the guy stealing get sniped...theres no way that was a dive

  • GODDAMN the crazy ass strength he has in his arm and the confidence to throw from the knees!

  • i beleive the word for this situation is.... hosedddd

  • he is pro yet?

  • @SkateShoeReviewer He is in the Washington Nationals organization. He plays in AA with the Harrisburg Senators. So pretty much a pro.

  • @TheJmassey4 he plays outfield now so you can cross off him being the best catcher of all time

  • Never even jumped to his feet.....amazing arm!

  • Omg that Kidd is a Fucken beaaast!!!

  • @TheJmassey4 this isn't against pro players dumshit. once he proves that he can play at the professional level then people won't be so skeptical.

  • @TheJmassey4 im not hating him but that is a huge assumption and the kid hasn't even been called u yet.

  • bryce harper is unbelievably talented within the game of baseball and when your as good as him and have the potential he has, i think you can try and rock some baseball swag, part of the game these days

  • i did tht once but my shortstop couldn't catch tht cause he caant catch anythang

  • bryce harper is still a very good ball player for real who do you see throwing runners out from there knees its much better than having to fucking get up and do it and its simple and looks cooler

  • Sick

  • First of all the eye black just for look.. And it does look legit.. Maybe if u were good u maybe could.

  • if the base runner knew how to fucking slide he might have made it, that was painful to watch.

and yeah harpers a douche big time. I see major off the field issues in his career

  • Don't hate cause you ain't

  • :15

  • dudes a beast. he can be gay or wutever else u haters say but he hands down has mopre talent in his hands than any of u have in ur whole body... hes a baseball all star no matter which way u look aT it... he is going places...

  • That was frickin awesome

  • The slide in slow mo was cooler than the throw in slow mo

  • Look at the runner at 0:42 he can do weird stuff with his knees too.

  • Can you say gunned?

  • HE DOVE A LITLE EARLY..

  • Chuck Norris wouldn't run on Harp.

  • fucking awesome!

  • holy fuck

  • Even a lot...of bad catchers....can do that....lol....I'm glad that there is no chance of that being confused with anything but sarcasm, lol! I love it Lake90wood...and for any moron who is unsure, ask any pitcher, if any catcher can throw runners out. "Any" would include the great, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Eli Wallach ain't throwing anybody out, standing or otherwise! lol. A great arm and quick accurate release behind the plate is 2nd only to a great SS-2B combo for a pitcher.

  • @MegaForgetful1 Ask any pitcher that? I am a pitcher. The running game isn't based solely on the catcher..your catcher doesn't even have to have a great arm if the pitcher is good enough to switch up looks and timing to the plate and with a good slide step, it's gonna make it tough on the runner.. Alot of catchers are capable of doing that. Is harper gonna throw out every runner when he goes from his knees? no. Fundamentals wins games. Maybe he's just not quick enough to throw it from his feet.

  • @Lake90Wood Not following you Lake. Perhaps you can clarify. Do you mean any "pro" catcher when you say even a lot of BAD catchers...? Please define a BAD catcher, keeping in mind it means that a coach or manager has decided he is a starter. I took it to literally mean he was bad. Now, since I have played with and against pitchers up through Double A ball, managed several of them, was a pitcher myself, I took your comment to mean down into the teen levels (where this vid came from). Next...

  • @Lake90Wood Our team in youth ball (15 max age) had a catcher (questionable) that by the end of the year we had him just throw to the pitcher who then would try to nail the runner on a relay, because the catcher was so weak. He even missed (didn't catch) a called strike three in the corner in a game - BUT he was a starter! ZThe team sucked of course. But I guess I'll blame the pitcher for a poor slide step.

  • bitch nobody runs on bryce harper!!!

  • @shadowhawk72 he wont be a catcher in the bigs ..they r settin him up for OF or 1B

  • Any good catcher can throw runners out from their knee's.... that's why they're catchers right? Even alot of bad catchers can do that....

  • Comment removed

  • @mterps190 apparently you've never watched baseball... at any level

  • @Lake90Wood search conde throwing from knees....

  • @Lake90Wood no

  • @quesoesbien Watch a little bit of baseball....

  • @Lake90Wood If you watched any baseball, you'd see that almost every catcher throws to second base from their feet. Throwing from your knees is obviously quicker because you don't have to stand up, so then why don't all catchers do it? It is because they don't have the arm strength. They need the power from their legs to make a good throw. Nice try though.

  • @quesoesbien I don't watch any baseball, I just play. All catchers don't throw from their knees because they're quick enough to throw from their feet. If you don't have the arm strength to get the ball to second base from your knees then you probably shouldn't be catching... at least anywhere outside of little league.

  • @Lake90Wood I don't know what to say other than that you're wrong. I catch on high school varsity, and I can't throw anyone out from my knees. I can reach second from my knees, but it would be a crappy throw. Harper's arm strength is ridiculous, because he can make a good throw from his knees.

  • @quesoesbien I'm not saying he doesn't have a good arm... I'm just sayin that throwing someone out from their knees isn't THAT impressive... If you don't have the arm strength to have a solid throw to second from your knees then you're gonna have a hard time getting to a good university unless you have other tools to work with...

  • @Lake90Wood uh. you are a god damn fool. throwing someone out from your knees isnt impressive? throwing out someone from your feet is a damn good play. from your knees is fucking unreal. ive never seen anyone do it. obviously youve never played elite baseball.

  • @Lake90Wood I see what you're saying, but I think you're underestimating the impressiveness of a throw to second from the knees.

  • @quesoesbien Possibly... just saying alot of people can do it... it's still impressive... not taking anything away from harper's talent... He is impressive as a player... but the catching part of his game is not the best... or his best..

  • Comment removed

  • @quesoesbien naahhh.... I've just seen it done alot... but he's not even a catcher anymore so it's whatever.

  • and the 3rd dislike must have been the third base coach

  • He takes huge loads on his knees too!

  • Fake

  • Holy shit

  • sick!

  • you cant get better than that

  • i was there for my tryouts!!!!!!!

  • Real reason he threw from his knees was because it was a pitch low and away and he was crouched too low to get up quickly... With an arm like his it didn't matter anyways. Haha. And I saw this live btw

  • How do you tell the kid who got gunned that he threw it from his knees?

  • no tag?

  • @TheWISHforHOPE The runner slid into the tag.

  • the 2nd dislike must be the batter who swung and missed

  • The one dislike was the runner who got thrown out lol

  • lol hahaha 100 likes 1 dislike that dislike must have been the person he got out

  • Good God

  • This kid never stops amazing me.

  • the reason why he threw from his knees is because its a faster way to get the ball down to second then it is for him to pop up to his feet and then throw. obviously the guy was fast so thats why he did it. and plus hes got a fucking cannon for an arm so he can just throw a seed from his knees down to second no problemo

  • @sportsandstuff if you were really a catcher you would be giving your pitcher signs so you know what pitch is coming that wasn't the reason he went to his knees

  • Good Lord

  • ay if he can hit the crap out of the ball and throw out guys from his knees when he is only 16, he can do watever he wants with his eye black.

  • Comment removed

  • Hosed.

  • great throw yes, but why was he on his knees anyway? the pitch wasn't in the dirt and there was a runner on base

  • @2012498 sometimes, you get crossed up as a catcher and think the pitch is a curve when its really a heater so you have no time to pop up and throw that guys got a cannon of an arm tho :P

  • JESUS CHRIST

  • 1 dude was caught steeling

  • Comment removed

  • @:40.... BYAAAH!!!!

  • Awesome arm and great catch and tag by the second baseman. Can't wait to see Bryce in the majors.

  • Harper is good, but he is an absolute jerk.

  • @Poneutria

    whys that?

  • @Poneutria lol not true i met him at the power showcase hes anything but a jerk

  • @AthecrashA

I met him, he's a good guy. There's no doubt he's cocky as shit though. It comes across as douchey sometimes.

  • @8USMNT17 Never met the guy..but just his eye black has me convinced that he's a douche bag

  • @Linester25 i HATE THat eye black look. When i was pitching to sierra valley high school i hit their #4 hitter right on his back because of that eyeblack

  • @TheOriginalMinty I'm not a pitcher but I totally would hit someone for wearing ridiculous eye black. Seriously, i've played some kids that looked like they were fresh out of a KISS concert.

  • @Linester25 he is not......

  • @uclaballer100 I'm sure he isn't....He's an amazing ball player...i just CAN"T STAND the eye black look.... It serves absolutely no purpose to put it on like that other than to draw attention to yourself. This guy needs nothing but his unreal talent to speak for him....get rid of the "cocky-look-at-me-bullshit-fashion-statement eyeblack"..

  • @Linester25 bro your just jealous you cant do shit like that, and not make any wheres, i give props to Bryce, he might seem over rated, but he sure as hell backs it up...

  • @BaseballKid920

that still doesn't mean he isn't a douchebag

  • @BaseballKid920 At what point did I bash him on his talent???? I SAID I HATE THE EYE BLACK!!!!!!........This is the best player i have ever seen at his age.....I don't think he is over rated at all.....Baseball is the toughest sport to succeed in...you're right, I can't do the things he's done....You won't believe me, but I played AA ball and didn't have SHIT on this guy and was released...I also have several buddies in MLB and this kid makes them look like T-ball players when they were that age

  • @Linester25

the eye black is intimidating lol...idt he outs it on to try and look like a DB ha, but ight my bad it just seems like u were cuttin on him

  • @Linester25 i met him when he was 13 and he is not a douche

  • @Linester25 So applying what has been baseball tradition for over 50 years, makes you a douche bag?

  • @chronicpk Not even close....there is a difference in one line of eye black under your eyes, and smearing that crap all over your entire face for looks....if he had one line of eye black, I would be cool with that...but he smears it to try to look cool just like some other douches I played with and against....they used to look at themselves in the mirror for 5 minutes before games just to see if it looked cool enough before they'd leave the locker room. That much eye black serves no purpose.

  • @Linester25 well maybe you feel like a fuckin idiot since the douchebags signing bonus was more than you will ever make dumbass

  • @xtremekiwi12 No, I don't feel like an idiot...I believe he is the most talented ball player i've ever seen at his age.....I've said it half a dozen times on this page.....I made an observation that I hate the over dramatic eye black that serves no purpose, and that his unbelievable talent should speak for itself...I'm not a dumbass...Is he your boyfriend? You sure are getting defensive over someone you don't even know.

  • Dangg what else can he do on his knees?

  • @ZziTALiANzZ I KNO!!!!!! :) jk...

  • @ZziTALiANzZ get more money from his signing bonus than u will ever see

  • @MW2awesomeGOD nice username.

  • i know a kid that has been doing this since he was 15. no lie

  • @webee4 is not about who can do it its about how fast you do it

  • @eatorresg alright well ill add he can do it just as good maybe even better.

  • that was the sexiest thing ive seen all day, no homo. hahah

  • Comment removed

  • @ssuperbrad ur homo yes homo

  • amazing from the knees

  • great arm. Hes guna be a good outfielder

  • Maur ain't got shit on that

  • tht was right on the money

  • try hard... haha jk

  • @ninjakiwi17 lmfaoooo

  • THE RUNNER MISSED FIRST BASE

  • @redstrat8 I dont get it...

  • He will get to the majors faster. and will last longer. what a perfect throw though.

  • funny thing is he got signed by washington nationals to play right field.

  • @friar1219 he has the arm and athletiscism to play it though

  • @friar1219 Yea because being a catcher wears out your knees and to be a great hitter it has alot to do with your legs, so if he play right field it will lengthen his tim ein the majors...

  • THE BEST EVER

  • This kid is amazing

  • Wow that was a bad slide

  • that was a terrible slide...just saying.

  • @kjd522 yeah, a hook slide wouldve been more effective but geez...wat a toss from his kness

  • i hope the runner never sees this video. lol.

  • money

  • Absolutely perfect. Flawlessly played. He may not do well his frist year, but i think this kids going to be a monster. He needs to be on the right team. Not sure the Nats are them.

  • @ChiCityPool: Why not? They have the best young pitcher, one of the best young 3B in baseball, and several other bright prospects. I'm not a Nats fan, but I see success in their future. 2013 will probably be the year to get excited about:

C - Norris, 1B - Dunn, SS - Desmond, 3B - Zimmerman, RF - Harper. Pitchers Strasburg and Storen...it could fall apart, but look for the Nats to be successful down the road.

  • @furiousdan u forgot Willingham

  • @Knzrocks

Eh, his age and contract status make me believe he will not be a big part of their future. After 31, power numbers decrease for players who are not elite power hitters. Great player now, though.

  • @furiousdan First of all, that's not true. Second of all, how could you even possibly think he won't be a big part of their future? They took him #1 overall in the draft, and signed him to a huge contract.

  • @furiousdan I was responding to Knzrocks. Feel free to look up the origin of the comments.

But if you don't, the bottomline is that this comment wasn't about Bryce Harper (spoiler alert--he isn't near age 31), it was about Josh Willingham. And it is true that he will begin to see a dip in OPS in the next year or two--which is why they should deal him to best help themselves compete in 2013 and beyond.

  • that kid has a cannon

  • Hey, just cause Pudge didnt hit 40 home runs inna game doesnt mean hes not one of the best, if not the best. Im not saying hes the best, but an amazing hitter doesnt make you an amazing player

  • bryse harper is sick and pudge is not the best ever his nums r only good because he used hgh

  • Benito Santiago

  • yea what he said!!

  • hes not going to be the best catcher that ever played because hes playing outfield now

  • @CriminalMexican13 he is not, he's catching for the Nationals.

  • @kace842 you're wrong. if you listened to the draft and the aftermath they are making him an outfielder because it will take him less time to get to the majors and also he will be less injury prone if he is in the outfield.

  • Comment removed

  • hes not even going to catch...... there putting him as an outfielder because as a catcher theres a alot of things to learn and they wanna get his bat up to the majors plus he has way to much speed to waste at catcher

  • thumbs up if you agree....................... Next Ivan Rodriguez? Only Catcher I know that can put a ball all the way to second, right in front of the runner, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!

  • @kace842 ivan rodrigurz is ok but this guy is an the best utility guy ever and he can hit eextremely well

  • @lilsnidesorioles you're serious? Ivan Rodriguez is THE GREATEST catcher to ever play the game, he put up career numbers when he played for the Rangers, he was averaging a SB% of .10 against him. He hit .325 and averaged 40 homeruns a season.

  • @kace842 YADIER MOLINA OWNS THEM ALL

  • @Beradical23 whatever dude.

  • @Beradical23 Go Cards!

  • @kace842 pudge has never hit 40 hr in a season

  • @jwellman5150 he has too! He averaged 40 a season for three straight years!

  • @kace842 The most he hit was 35 homeruns in 1999.

  • @kace842 you are such a fucking troll

  • @beardownbassist hahahahahahahhahahahahaha

  • @kace842 Look at the stats he's never hit 40 homers

  • @gippyg22 Bryce harper is a fuckin BEAST!

  • Respond to this video... BRYCE HARPER IS A FUCKIN BEAST!!!!!!!

  • @kace842 Trust me pudge isn't the greatest catcher ever, look at Joe Mauer. And he didn't average 40 homeruns a seasone you are crazy, lol.

  • @Whoami225 hahah you just fucking compared Pudge to that shit mauer? Go compare career numbers buddy, stolen bases against. Pudge is THE GREATEST EVER!!! Ask the Experts on MLB Network.

  • BEASTMODE

  • i was in the stands i remember that. that was that week where they had teams from all diff. regions of the country. like midwest, northeast, mid atlantic, etc. and i was face to face w. him at one point at a cage off to the side.

  • I agree with the nats in moving him to OF it'll save his knees (my gf dad played catcher for AA reds) and he have a lot longer career

  • perfect throw

  • Moron woulda been safe if he knew how to slide

  • Comment removed

  • @Ghostinshadows he still would have been out. it was a good throw didnt matter how he slid

  • @Ghostinshadows haha i know. that dive was terrible

  • he makes my arm look like a water gun ):

  • Wow this kid has a cannon

  • It just makes no sense how someone can be so good at such a young age. Hes just..... wow, I dont know what to say
