  • Hehehe.

I got a phone named after me.

    Yay!! lol

  • BoyGenius -- could you comment please: What I read is that SonyEricsson's "Rachel" is essentially a well-developed skin over the android OS beneath it. But that HTC's "SenseUI" is a more extensive integration of a user interface with android, not just a cosmetic skin. PLEASE ADVISE! I want to buy one of these asap! thanks

  • this phone will kick asses, if it runs so smooth like in this video

  • Google's gonna take over all of the computer markets. Android came out about a year ago, and they've already got 2 HTC phones, and this great looking Sony phone on the way. Not to mention the Verizon/Samsung Droid coming out next month with near double the specs of the G1.

I also read that 50% of cell phone users are supposed to have Androids by 2012.

If this is any indication of how Google Chrome OS is going to do, then Apple and Microsoft are fucked.

  • Looks great but as was mentioned, I need to see this on actual hardware. Android is great but laggy at times.

Sense right now is probably the best UI you can get on a smartphone. But the Xperia X3 is due to be revealed next week. If it runs that smooth out of the box as this video. Then Sense may very well get bumped to a number #2 slot in my mind. Price is going to kill it for me though. knowing sony, it won't be cheap.

  • laggy? what phone do you have and its laggy if you have a different rom ported to a different phone android always optimizes the roms to work on the phones smoothly sooo i dont know what you're talking about by laggy...

  • agreed. if priced at something like $700 and no carrier.

  • Android is not laggy... The hardware processors are slow... Xperia has double the mhz as the typical Android phones... on a better chip... so I doubt it will be laggy...

  • it looks really clean and responsive, most likely thanks to the snapdragon chip.

sony was smart to jump on board with google. but i think htc is going to do better in terms of android phone sales. sense ui looks alot more like android than rachael ui.

  • It looks fast because it is running on a mobile device emulator, not actual hardware. I don't know how fast or slow it will be on actual hardware but this is running on a computer. Search 'Android Emulator' on Google.

  • I like it.

  • looks wired ... htc hero < 3

  • Looks great if its legit. Although I hear the screen is pressure and not capacitive? Thats a let down. If it was capactive, if i had to choose now Id take this over the Hero.

i also think its funny that on everyone of these kinds of videos you always have apple hateboys knocking the iphone. apple understands the importance of the user interaction with a device, and thats why the iphone sells. Is it perfect? no, but no other device is either.

  • idk why people thinks resistive technology is bad.... It can tweaked to be as responsible as capacitive.

  • the technology is there, but i haven't really seen it used to its full extent on a phone yet.

  • I don't think Android supports resistive screens. That's what I heard at least.

  • find a more perfect device than a G1 running full sense ui and then we'll talk.

thats literally everything you would need/want in a mobile device.

  • With the exception of battery life, processor speed and size.

  • With the exception of decent screen resolution, camera that's useful, battery life that lasts more than a day, processor that can handle the UI, decent on board storage...

Other than that, it's the perfect phone... ::rolleyes::

  • how would you know that....? have you ever seen one?

  • dont forget the exception of not commenting on old ass posts.

  • Doesn't look remotely like SE to me. I'd expect to see their Xperia panels interface ported to Android

  • Iphone doesnt even have UI that comes close.. it's just a bunch of icons on a home screen...

  • LOL...that's freaking true! Basically, Apple was able to put simple things in a simpler way. That worked for some so-called smartphone users. I like x10 big time and hope its real touchscreen's gonna be fast.

  • I bet we won't see them in the U.S. How come we never get the cool phones first or sometimes not at all.

  • US always get the shitty phones from other companies. for ex. HTc touch pro 2, they all look shitty for t mobile, sprint, verizon.

  • I want this phone, but knowing how when it does come to Canada, it will be Rogers exclusive and robbing me a $80/month.

  • Telus and Bell have a new network bro

  • Yup, I am aware of that now. But I haven't heard anything about them getting Androids.

  • Telus has the HTC Hero, running Android and HTC sense UI. Look into it

  • かっこいい!iPhoneはこれに対してどう動いてくのかな?

  • HTC Hero UI looks better

  • android is open source you dont need a store to install new things, however i believe there is the android marketplace google's equivalent to the app store (Y)

  • face it you cant beat apple. all they need to be is make a new then all the other companies are back to square one. : /

  • really? Apple's 'new' features are barely catching up to even WinMo.

The Hero's going to have full flash support as well.

    You have MMS yet? :-D

  • like i mean thell never win cause of the amout of people who have iphones and want one because theve been brain washed by apple's comercials.

anyways wahts MMS? lol : /

  • GREAT

  • it's better than the iphone :D

    ill buy it

  • so David Wenham is gay in this video? lol. i love this phone now. bye bye iPhone.

  • OOOHhhhh .... apple is shaking in its boots .... another killer wannabee ..

Okay all you apple haters .... let's hear how great this thing is ... before it even hits the market ...

  • THis Sony phone failed

    .....

  • Great job sony ericsson, looking forward to this

  • fuck

  • I don't know what my day would be like if I didn't have to spend minutes looking at all my contacts dance their way onto my screen every time I'm going to make a phone call. They have done some serious good thinking over at Sony Ericsson. That's for certain.

It's also a good thing the different elements on the screen doesn't align in any sort of way. It makes the items harder to read and makes it look very messy which is really cool. Why keep things clean and organized when it can be a mess?!

  • I think it looks better than the iPhone interface

  • APPLE... CATCH UP MAN!!

  • Can't decide to pick this or HTC Hero!!!

  • I´ll buy it !

  • Please,using for DoCoMo!!!

  • i wonder what phone companies this phone is going to be available to. anyone already know?

  • wtf

  • I did notice that her friend was gay but when you look up the name it says that he's a straight actor from the 300 and a couple other movies. Weird

  • anyone else catch that her friend is gay? just mentioning it. 1:03

  • I noticed that too when it said he was eating Hot Pockets

  • I caught that as well. Good for SonyEricsson.

  • i would have to agree

  • Well...looks like! Nice catch.

  • maybe she just has a picture of her bf on the personal photo

  • Ugly? i thought it looked cool for an android Sony ericson phone...PLease make this AT&T!!

  • I hope T-mobile will get a phone like this. All the sexy phones go to AT&T and all the cheap looking phones go to T-mobile :(
