Nikisha, thank you for sharing your detangling routine. I have incorporated finger combing/detangling in my wash process and loving the results for my fine strands... less breakage and split ends caused from brushing. I do have a question: How do you dry/style your hair after rinsing out the deep conditioner? I'm assuming you do some form of wash 'n go/ shingling... do you have techniques to avoid shrinkage or just let it air dry? Thanks!!!
@neeneneema Hi there! When I do a wash n' go I just air dry it and let it shrink up. I get about 50% shrinkage and don't stretch them. But as the days go on they naturally stretch out due to wearing a satin scrunchie every night :). Hope this answers your question!
I tried both the 'dry hair with oil' and the 'wet hair with conditioner' methods for detangling my hair. I found that I didnt experience shrinkage when I detangled my hair with oil while dry, but I experienced more hair loss. When I detangle my hair with conditioner while wet, I experience severe shrinkage but less hair loss so I stick with this method.
@TheEbonyDiaries Yes we love showcasing different methods of detangling because if it doesn't work for you it will definitely work for someone else :D Thank you so much for watching ;DDD
I love you guys!!! I'm really glad you made this video. Nikisha, my daughter's hair is closer to your hair type, but I believe she is too small (1 yr old) to sit still long enough for me to finger detangle her hair. I try to keep it moisturized, but she is having a little bit of breakage. I use the Shea Moisture products on her hair because her hair responds well, so I'm attributing the breakage to a method I may be using. What would you suggest?
@MissLoe8908 let me first say thank you for the love and support :-*. I have to say that my hair seemed to start breaking more when I started using the Shea moisture products, so it might be that. You might want to try Curls Curl Souffle Cream and then seal it with extra virgin olive oil or jojoba oil. Also try conditioners with great slip, such as Say Yes to Carrots. Maybe you can spritz her hair with water, add the conditioner ,and detangle while she is asleep.I hope this helps :)
@UrbanBushBabes Thank you so much! I'm just sad because I just went and bought a bottle of the Style Milk and the Coconut and Hibiscus shampoo :(. I guess I'll just have to add those to the "Donation Hair Products" box lol. I've braided her hair up and oiled it really well so after I take the braids out next week, I'll try washing her hair with Say Yes to Carrots Shampoo and follow up with the condish and EVOO. Thanx again for your help!!!
Just saw Cip's commercial. Cool, girl. I still think you should be featured in a SNL skit. PS: Wish they would have taken your hair down in the last clip you appeared in : )....
@1wellinglover the best thing to do is listen to your hair. But I personally won't detangle or deep treat more than once in a week. Detangling is manipulating the hair, so every time you manipulate it, you can cause extra breakage. Also if you notice your hair gets dry within a week its ok to deep treat because it adds moisture back into the hair. I also recommend deep treating for naturals who use shampoo. :)
@mzpatriciakeller Thank you so much!!! We will have many more videos coming soon and there is a recent video uploaded with Cipriana wearing her hair down :D

Thanks for the more moisture tip! i always wondered why so much hair would come out. You have a simple but great detangling process, just what i like lol I'll be trying it tonight :) I look forward to seeing more videos from you ladies. By far the best explained natural hair vids on the tube. Btw, you both are naturally gorgeous with BEAUTIFUL hair :) God bless
This chan is such a great idea. To get information from type 4 and type 3C is so helpful. because it's a one stop shop !! I have three textures 4a/4b and 3c. So, I can relate to both of you. Because I notice with my 3c hair in the nape and temple areas are SO easy to detangle wet, with condish, no breakage? But My type 4 hair. NO Maams, it's not a smooth process, I always feel like I'm breaking my hair, and my ends feel rougher, even though I moisturize and seal them like crazy.
@godsflame2 Wow, thank you for this comment. I never thought of this info as helping people with more than one texture. This is so awesome to hear! I really hope you can find something here that can help you . xoxox
@UrbanBushBabes Yes it really is. (I know you don't care for hair typing, but its kinda of all we have right not to sort of relate to each other without being able to touch and feel! : ) But yes, I love this new channel and look forward to more videos.
first off love your videos. but ya'll do a videos on difference hair style ya'll do everyday and mayde Cipriana can have her hair out in one of the videos
@bapscherry86 Thank you for watching ;DDD Yes we have plenty more videos in the works where we will be doing just what you mentioned but for now there is a recent upload of Cipriana wearing her hair down :D
@AlinaBrown93 Your welcome love!I have had this length before I damaged it with heat and chemicals. But after the damage it was shoulder length, so it takes about 9 months to go from shoulder to mid back if I take care of it :). I hope this helps.
Detangling is such a huge issue for us naturals so I appreciate yall sharing your tips and info. Thanx!
