How dare they? The nerve! I work six nights a week for 6euros an hour, i cant always buy food the week before pay day. The big 3 also failed to look outside the SUV investment box and ignored the car market. They refused to focus on fuel efficiency and when $5.60 gas hit the bay area, many sold, traded, burned, or just let the bank repo their SUVs. Even if they don't declare bankruptcy, the general consumer has been treating the big 3 as if it has happened. This can be realised at your local dealerships. On a side note, VW shut down their line and can easily close the Mexico factory to keep Wolfsburg alive.

The US Commerce dept was ok with permitting advanced semiconductors being offshored. This effectively killed the industry in the US. The current administration gave away the tech industry to China all in the name of saving a $. So if they were ok with giving away the tech industry, why not the auto industry. After a crapy product, my last new GM purchase was 9 years ago. I'll stick with the imports. The laws of economics will kill off the big 3.

This time it is GM that failed to adapt to the market and refused to pay attention to the customer expectations. It takes 3 years from a car to go from design to the road due to the contracts since they don't make their own parts.
