I first saw this movie when I was 4 on a video caset that was bigger then the actual video player and it was really thin. and I am now 32 and this has always been my favorite movie of all times. I used to pretend I was Judy and sing to my whole family. When it shows on tv everyone in my family calls me to put it on.
I grew up in St. Louis. My father was a motorman on the very streetcar line in the book and film (the Hodiamont line). The barber shop we went to was about five minutes from the Smith home on Kensington Avenue. This is my favorite film for obvious reasons. But what is amazing is how M-G-M captured St. Louis. An advance team visited the city and did a lot of research, and so the film is both historically correct and understands the city we are meeting in the story.
How can you watch a film on such a tiny little screen, most films are about two hours long, it must take you ages to adjust your eyes. I prefer a 42inch plasma.
I don't know. It actually does hurt my eyes and kinda gives me a headache but I try to watch it on my laptop as much as possible. But if I'm on the go, my iPod's closest. :)
I have the single disc DVD and this is on there too, along with a documentary of the making of the film and the commentary by John Fricke, love this film and Judy Garland!
