The cage is not a prison for them unless you make it into a prison by not giving them toys inside the cage, or by not socializing with them when they are in the cage. My cockatiel loves sitting on my arm when I'm by the computer, but my orange-winged amazon parrot doesn't want to go out from his cage, he prefers climbing around in it rather than fly.

Just be patient and DO NOT walk away from his cage when he starts to bite then tell a gentile and yet firm no. :) If you walk away every time he does that he will think that he is scaring you away.

Yes! That is normal because he thinks that you and your human family are his flock. :) My Cockatiel Woodstock does the same thing when my Mom and Dad come home from work. She is called a lutino which is what these white and yellow birds are called. I once owned a lutino parakeet. Lutinos have red eyes like albinos, and they are as cute as ever. :)
My tiels heard this and tried to copy Sonny. He talks a lot better than mine. I have five. Three are rescues. Also, I have an African Grey. He is a rescue from an abusive home.
Sonny is Beautiful! My partner and I have a cockatiel named Johnny Cash, he likes to say "Morning Johnny" and "Good Boy" and lots of other stuff, he likes to imitate the phone ringing. Arnt Cockatiels the most beautiful birds? So clever and cute!
my friend has the exact same bird that looks just like yours and its name is sonny nammed after there dead sonny, but his can only laugh and wolf whistle its pretty funny
