  • man your tricks and tips have really helped me out and made a good name and rep for myself as a custom painter locally, youre awesome bro!! keep the tips comin!!

  • THIS IS COOL, BUT KINDA LOOKS LIKE LOTS OF OVERSPRAY ON EACH RIVET. MAYBE TRY TO SHADE WITH A LIL RUST COLOR INSTEAD AND IT WILL LOOK LIKE RUST BLEEDING OUT.

  • or you could put real rivets

  • a close up of the finished product would have been good

  • yes, indeed

  • Great Thank you again! :D

  • wat type of air brush should a new comer to the art use and paint and other items?

  • you should use a g22 master airbrush

  • I highly recommend investing in a duel-action (meaning that you push the trigger down for air and pull back to release paint or water...) airbrush.

Personally I like Iwata-brand airbrushes (Iwata Eclipse is a great beginner and general-purpose brush) with gravity-fed paint (generally easier to clean).

The type of airbrush (and paint) that will best suit you depends upon what you would like to do.

  • About Paint:

Avoid thicker paints until you have a need to use them.

(For example, Createx works on fabric/other surfaces but it is very thick...you don't want to try to learn how to airbrush while also learning how to manage thicker paint...)

ComArt is thin enough, but seems to have a clotting problem.

Personally I recommend Golden-brand airbrush paint (on almost any paper) because it doesn't clot as much as other brands...it is great for practicing techniques, illustrations, etc...

  • Other items:

    *Compresser and hose.

*Airbrush cleaning kit -Medea Airbrush Cleaner (I recommend Medea brand b/c it doesn't stink...)

-pipe-cleaner-like brushes -bowl or tray for occasions when you need to take apart your airbrush

    *Paper Towels

    *Frisket and tape

    ...that should get you started.

Personally I suggest practicing on paper, then branch out to other surfaces/techniques later as you learn.

    Hope that helps.. :-)

  • Oh, and you'll probably want a water/moisture trap (a small chamber that sits between the compresser and hose and/or your hose and your airbrush to collect moisture/water and prevent it from ruining your artwork...this is especially important in moist climates and/or when working on metal or other surfaces where a burst of water could ruin your hard work...)...

  • @360gear

Umm a g22 master is a very nice airbrush but budget is a big part of it. I would start with cretex paints to start then auto air and for PRO level projects, Kustom shop paints

  • hey, what is the main airbrush that you use?

  • thanks for the help, I did this on a helmet for my custom refinishing class that I did along with the metal panel effect, for my auto body and collision repair course. The instructor was very impressed with how it turned out. he said they looked better than how he ussually have done them, so I taught him something new.

  • awsome video thanks for the help dude

  • that sucked

  • what kind of airbrush gun do you use?

  • thanks for sharing

  • tanks man you rock it's buty

  • rivits arnt resesed???/

  • No, but they create a shadow and an area where dirt collect. So he was creating the shadow of the rivet and the natural weathered look.

  • what are your panels made of

  • Please can somebody make a video..How to pait chrome...(chrome effect)... Please..can´t get it right..

  • this dude has a chrome video.

  • Yes real chrome Im looking for chrome style..... and Ed have shown how to do with the Beveling Edges vid but thanx
