  • asians would so own xD they are like 30 cm smaler xD

  • and eat a lot healthier, so lighter and smaller, but I've never heard of an asian who flies XD

  • I think there is one ... yoshihide Muroya from japan

    but he sucks xD

  • ivanoff ftw san diego 2009!!!! :D!!!!

  • LOL i was the 666th view

  • lol

  • why there aren't jet plans in the race?

  • Well, I for one wouldn't care to see it if there were. . .they simply aren't maneuverable enough to fly a very tight or interesting course.

  • almost what he said, because also those jets would never be able to manuever through those pylons, and also, if they hit one, since they're going faster it would be worse.

  • jets have to move faster to stay airborne as they have very little lift so at lose speeds they are not as manuverable.

however, at higher speeds, speeds that these planes could never reach even if they had the power, a jet is much more agile. these planes, due to their design could not handle much higher speeds than they are currently capable of.

they are two different beast, one a low speed acrobat, the other a high speed monster.

  • thank you for the answer.

is it possible to create a jet-plane race?

    (with longer course)

  • there are plans to do that. More like rocket planes than jets though. It was in a popular science magazine and also in a show on Discovery Channel. It plans to use electronic gates (shown through a HUD in each plane). It is being created by the founder of NASCAR i believe.

  • not so entertaining for the people watching... :D... or... na hjust forget it xD (every1 gets a hud was in my mind lol)

  • It's not as practical. Also with the jets and faster airplanes high "g" maneuvers are more dangerous considering the pilots could easily black out

  • the light airplanes of redbull airrace achieve geforces over 12G, which is over limit of any jet today - even the most agile fighters like Su37 and Mig29OVT are limited to 10G

  • Kinda doubt it. I bet fighters can achieve g forces much higher than that. The pilot wouldn't be able to handle it. The machines themselves can pull a lot more than you think

  • you're right:as the SU27 had it first testflights, the pilot had to pull completely on the stick to determine G on some speed: the result was that he was ripped unconscious immideately by the g-force and the plane crashed. After that a computer has been build in, which limits G-force to human-friendly value. You just can't survive 12G flying that long as you have in the fighter-youd need frequent breakes.

However, still those little machines are way more agile andhave more power for less weight

  • yo uwould neet allot more space... lots of space xD maybe texas .... :P

  • matt hall,, go you legend

  • Aussie Aussie Aussie! :D

  • I love the Red Bull Air Race!

  • What sort of restrictions are there on the aircraft modifications? Surely you can't just take off/add on anything you like...

  • i'm pretty sure there is none, which would explain the different weights between all the planes flying in the race. either way these planes are like buying a formula 1 car, there isn't really much that can be done to them except like change the cg and what not..
