Hey everybody if you want to try to get a free iTunes card then go to:
h t t p : / / t u n e s g e n e r a t o r . c o m / ? r = 6 4 7 8 0
You have to delete the spaces because for some reason you can't put links in comments no YouTube. Anyway you don't have to play games or anything but you have to send the link to 5 people and they have to actually click on it or copy and paste it or whatever. But its real and its legal.
Split keyboard on the iPad, eh? Exactly the same as the one shown in the Windows 8 preview video about a week ago, huh?
Proof if proof were needed that all this animosity & competition is all smoke & the Apple & Microsoft developers are all sharing ideas to keep up the pretence of "competition"...
@MrDavidHarrison So true...just look at all the Windows updates over the years and then take a look at the version of Mac OS X that was out before it.
@iJonny015 - Exactly. I don't mean to sound like a conspiracy nut, but it really does seem like the Windows & OSX development teams come-up with these features together, & Apple only releases them first as they only need to optimise them for one system.
Then Microsoft & Apple play their fans off each-other; Apple says "Original & best, do not accept imitations", to which Microsoft retorts "Never rushed, finely tuned".
The fact of the matter being that both systems are fundamentally the same...
Apple is late to the party with a lot of these features, but the way they're implemented is by far the best in the market in my opinion. So it was a bittersweet conference, with emphasis on the sweet.
i think WWDC was a must-do from apple, they updated the things which where necessary, BUT nothing really special, no revolutionary thing, which made me a bit sad...
i think will enjoy the ICloud app and ITunes in icloud ,i am not impressed with downloading OS X lion 60GB some of us are still in Third world countries were speed is a problem when it comes to downloading huge files.
pcs and android devices have been doing all of those things for many years. especially pcs with the window switching and androids with the notifications bar/feature. apple is always constantly catching up with pcs and androids. and whenever they do catch up by releasing a new product or software update, they just make it look pretty and call it "innovation". androids are better and faster than iphones and pcs are better and faster than macs. ill get aloy of comments saying that macs dont have v
7:00 Finally there'll be a reason for buing a MagicTrackpad. I think They're thinking at Apple this way
7:30 In my opinion they're working hard on some kind of OS XI, the next major release. And Snow Leopard and Lion are just preparing customers for what's coming - and making a nice fat budget for the resarch
7:35 I have to agree. It's a DEVELOPER conference so what is the reasoning behind showing people what they've been allready allowed to see?
2:28 I wonder if there'll be some kind of help for people without fast enough internet connectiong so they could get the Lion upgrade without spending whole day or 2 on downloading the thing
4:23 I wonder if there would be some kind of third party software for other platforms to use the iMessage. For example having a conversation between Android and iOS device, or between OS X and iOS device. It would be awesome
0:55 You have the option to turn on the old way of viewing widgets - like on Snow Leopard for example - where widgest shows up over Your desktop
2:05 I wonder if there's some kind of a "right-click/seccondary-click" menu command with something like "send via AirDrop" or would it be possible to make on Your own with Automator
0:36 Mac has this feature for a long time but just for some specific apps - they've talked about it durring the keynote. This fullscreen mode is nothing like we've seen on Mac or a Windows PC's before - on windows You have to exit fullscreen to get to the desktop, or at least You don't have ability to swipe through the fullscreen apps like know on Lion.
0:30 There are no scrollbars even wneh You're using MagicMouse or even some other mouse. It's pesistent through all the system - i think You can turn them on in preferences, but I'm not quite sure.
I love my Mac, but Windows is starting to look more and more enticing. The Mac just doesn't seem to be evolving at all ... We don't want iOS on our computer -_-
@PurpleCliff1 Have you used Lion? I'm a windows fan and Lion is such an improvement over Snow Leopard. Once you use it you will appreciate the updates.
OS X Lion isn't much of a refresh..... Snow Leopard is still really good. But I hate all of this cloud stuff, Mac OS X doesn't need iOS integration it's a separate OS designed for computers! Keep it simple!
As much as Android has ripped off Apple I think its justified Apple finally steal 1 or 2 of Androids few good ideas. Too bad there is still no way to kill all running apps at once.
I agree, the OS X Lion updates were okay... but nothing revolutionary. Am I the only one confused by the number of names Apple is calling all of their new features? We had expose, now we have launch pad, mission control, multiple spaces, switching between desktop and full screen apps. Honestly, I don't know what my next multi-touch gesture is going to throw me into. They are more interested in silly looking animations than real functionality it seems.
i honestly could care less about ios and all this cloud shit! i dont have an iphone or ipod! i want a MAC and that is ALL i care about! Apple is soon to because a mobile products company and NOT a computer company. when that happens i wont give a rats ass about them!
So basically this all these updates are just going to baby os x users more so and put everything in the "cloud" so our content is licensed to us and not owned. Wow apple so innovative to with the update notifications, android rip off or what.
Also, you people do realize that the App Store is EXACTLY THE SAME AS LINUX REPOSITORIES, which have been around for over 10 years. In fact, repositories are much, much better. Copycats and thieves; Apple.
@Roflcopter4b Except Linux repositories are filled with garbage. I'm not defending Apple, as these stores should have been around for the past decade on ALL operating systems, but Linux software is absolutely horrendous, unless it's a developer utility, or a multi-platform app.
@PoliticalHell How is it horrendous? Its free, and has massive support. I use open source whenever possible. You can get anything you want on linux by using a command line, and it's been like that for a while. AND, now Apple is ripping off Android. Hypocrites.
@Roflcopter4b I've had my fair share of horror stories with open source. Almost nothing ever works the way it should unless you're programming skills are advanced enough to fix it yourself. Basics maybe, like email, web and chat etc. (even though most of those are cross-platform). But try doing anything more advanced, and you're screwed.
@PoliticalHell I've never had a problem. All you really need to do in something easy like Debian or Ubuntu, or even openSUSE is install from a repository. Worst case scenario, compile it yourself. Not that hard.
Lion looks awesome. Glad it's so cheap. All of the features made me excited, even though I can live without them. !@#$ CDs. I want the next gen. Macbooks to have no optical drive. Waste of space and it's '90s tech.
I don't care about iOS.
iCloud is amazing, a bit disappointing that iTunes sync is a payed service, but all of the features are something that should have been on every computer 5 years ago. Glad Apple finally took charge.
I'm confused with this new 'iCloud' thing... it's going to take me a while to get use to it.
I'd like to know more about how it's going to replace Mobile Me.
Although, I do like the idea of removing the scroll bar for track pads. I'm probably the only person who likes the track pad, and prefer it over the mouse.
have you had a chance to run developers preview 3 of lion yet . i'm running it and think its awesome except that there is no powerpc support through rosetta. whats your opinion ???
@wretchedstare Yes, well it comes yo how much do you trust apple, and I'd trust them a lot more than google. I have no reason not to. Apple have always been reliable and I fully expect them to stay like that for years to come.
