love it played fast. hate the album version... it just never resonated with me... but this version does. thanks for speeding it up and revisiting it in this manner.
These videos rock my sox and melt my face. BTW (not expecting an answer but decided, what the hell) Where do you order the Fano Satellite guitars? those things are sooo cool, particularly the tobacco burst
Keep Rockin' Ed! I think I might like the recorded version a bit better, but it's nice to hear some different stuff! We're all still waiting for When I Fall.
I love how this series is making me go back over the whole BNL back catalogue and listen to stuff I haven't heard for a long time. Great version of this song!!
I've always preferred the pre-album version of this song so this is a very nice treat! Although I also enjoyed the symmetry of the least verse being in the "General Store". Never understood why the album version breaks away from the whole "store" motif. Then again, I'm not a rock star. ;-) LOVING the Bathroom Sessions!
The extra verse is from the pre-album version. They may have cut it down for BOaPS, or had a change of heart (I'm not sure what the story is), but there is a live version of the song (it was originaly titled "Right Now,") which has these verses, and the Joe Jackson refrence in it.
I always liked the fast version of this song - thanks for the Ed Unplugged sessions. This is just another example why Ed Robertson is the coolest guy in rock music. Barenaked Ladies are Meritocratic!
WOW! I'm SOOOOO HAPPY to have a NEW version of the fast version of Same Thing! Ed, you rock so much for doing these bathroom sessions. These are wonderful!!
This is such a better version of the song. I really hope that they release this version on an album. Heck, I'd love a Bathroom Sessions album.

Definitely MUCH better than the album version! This version just seems to fit in better with the rest of their repetoire.

This is really cool - I love the extra lyrics
"I'm in a jewelry store
Looking at a ring the size of 3 or 4 paychecks
In walks the girl next door
And I say "I do"... funny how fast things change
Must have been the same thing mom and dad went through"
Also liked the Joe Jackson quote at the end - "pretty women out walkin' with gorillas down my street"! Random, but cool.

A song recorded in the bathroom? Ed, you're on a "roll", or at least sitting next to one. Thanks, Ed, that was fun. - Josh G.
