  • Hey guys, just because you have a cute anecdotal response to this guy doesn't take away his credentials. Yeah his brain-size statement is not a law of nature but saying something to the effect of "My grandpa smokes 2 packs a day and isn't dead yet... therefore smoking ISN'T bad for you" doesn't discredit the fact that most geniuses do have larger brains.

  • He said larger heads are smarter how about dinosaurs they weren't smarter than men and they have huge heads.

  • Expert troll not genius.

  • I can't even get past the first minute, holy shit. Brain size influences intelligence? Yup, blue whales have higher IQs than human beings alright.

  • LOL this motherfucker is so dumb....

  • He doesn't seem anywhere close to the world's smartest man. For one, elephants have much larger brains than humans yet they are nowhere near as intelligent. What accounts for our superior intelligence is the increased amount of folds in the cerebral cortex. Einstein's brain weight was slightly less than average but because he had increased sized and increased folds in regions of his brain, he was a mathematical and spatial genius.

  • Militarism, foreign governments?

    Look at your own numbnuts.

  • so many jealous retards commenting.. i just wish birth control will come soon to eradicate such parasites

  • He's probably a smart guy, but his work is trash and he seems like a massive media-whore

  • @anomaly19851: Your "litmus test for lifetime success measurement" rates deeply flawed & foolishly obviates eg, "dispositional genetics"; these: non-conformists | anarchists | hermits | unimpressed and/or those whom eschew avarice: fore-or-aft bourgeois predilections, urgencies, values, environment et cetera. Chris Langan appears a) intelligent, b) none-too-familiar with accrued scholarship legacies, c) conflicted as to his "marginalized worldly bid status": Fungibility Rejection

  • Stone cold... I like him.

  • so what about a whale head?? or an apes head...it doesn't correlate psycho.

  • i wonder wat happened if he didnt lose that piece of paper? and who took it? did the terminator take it? haha

  • Comment removed

  • honestly, Langan gives me the creeps! He pauses after his rants and just stares, blankly at the camera. He's in favor of dictatorship! We're in big trouble if this type of person ever manages to wrest control of the power structures. In fact, history has shown that personalities like Langan bring a tremendous amount of pain to the world. The dude should stop being such a pussy, a lot of people have had hard times, but not everyone ends up hating the entire world for it. Scumbag.

  • @SteveSlaughter1 We're in big trouble. Look around.

  • yeah, this dude is a psycho lol

  • This is my type of guy. I feel better about my self now. Other are out there. Realistic.

  • This guy is really condescending, that's probably why he's never ascended to anything. He'll say it's 'cause he's too smart and other people are threatened by it; no they're rubbed the wrong way by his condescension.

And he's wrong about society being run by stupid people; he's just externalizing his shitty circumstances. Even George Bush, the dumbest of leaders, is estimated to have an IQ in the 120s. Average people are generally not in above average positions.

  • Hello Chris. I just wanted to let you know if your own some type of revolution act or anything just let me know I will do what I can to help.

  • Also, I stole Langan's paper on artifical intelligence and published it.

  • @ClamCrunchy So it wasn't so bad-after all it had to go through peer review process. :-)

I hope Langan will appreciate it.

  • Volumetric displacement would require that you take into account the volume of your hair - and how would you do that?

  • @ClamCrunchy By shaving them off, throwing them into the water container and voila. More difficult is determining the volume of the scalp, skull muscles, ears, eyes, meninges, CSF, blood etc.

  • His logic at 1:00 is that brain size makes things smart. And that is why we are ruled by our elephant overlords.

  • @atmhso Do you know the size of an average Elephant's brain? No? For all you know it's the same size as a rat's.

  • @oR3LENTLE55o I found out before I posted the comment; it's around 3 times the size of ours. But nice of you to be an idiot about it anyway :)

  • @atmhso There will always be an anomaly in statistics. The fact that you choose to ignore that proves you to be more of an "idiot" than me.

  • pretty interesting, that one of the smarteest men in the world works as a bouncer, construction worker, and farm owner. only in america...

i guess its better than putting him on wall street to make the rich richer.

thats where all americas smarties go.

  • elephents have big heads...

  • If head size has something to do with intelligence why are we not ruled by elephants ? o_O

  • Believe head size matter for intelligence is too simplistic. Einstein was a genius with a IQ of 160, but his brain was smaller than average!

  • around of 12 ga 00 buck has 9 pellets in it. to get 11 pellets you would have to be shot twice.

  • using chrises inference regarding head size and intelligence, elephants and chastity bono should be really smart.

  • i think the question about why do u want to do this line of work was, for me, not about the violence issue specifically, but why not a career in science or engineering or something that uses more brain power? That aside, I do agree with him on the system being set up for idiots to reign in power. Look at the republican debates.... Seriously, our culture hails the best hustlers, not the brightest people or largest societal contributors. Some Americans think "intellectual" is a slander.

  • I discovered the method for time travel... but jersey shore came on and I forgot it..

  • his abusive step father turned him into a sociopath.

  • @CitizenTyrant What makes you think he's a sociopath? He doesn't seem like onw. You have to understand, that there are many intelligent people who are also humane and friendly.

  • Looking a youtube comments in here just made Langan theory proven further. Its hard to deal with the normal people. Whatever a genius say can be categorized or be perceived as arrogance while Lagan has only just stating a Fact.

This is why I hate normal people. They are boring, and get jealous very easily because of their own dumbasseness can't do anything to prove they are smarter than Genius people like Langan. Shove your social emo down to the garbage.

  • IQ is as worthless as everyday horoscopes.Success and high IQ don't necessarily coincide.

  • @straightupmenace Yes they do. Discounting the impact of IQ is just plain insane.

  • to me this shows what a load of bullshit IQ tests are. This arrogant pain in the neck is a really shallow thinker and very selfish. His answers are a joke.

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder if he'd consent to a buccal swab. I'd love to compare his DNA to mine. That would be a fun science fair project.

  • Fuck all u dirtbags who are talking like this mans some sort of a deadbeat cos he is a bouncer .. That very same deadbeat may save your life when some fucking lunatic is trying to cut your throat with a Peanut tray..now talk it up see if any of u cock smoking windbags have the balls to throw your own skin on the line for some one u don't know and take the brunt

  • The thing about head size still holds, even with animals like whales and elephants. It's a correlation, you're going to have things outside of the norm, the key is finding a relationship and there is. They're pretty smart anyway, compared to the animal kingdom.

More accurately, it's about head size to body size ratio which humans dominate.

  • @lapianista555 Who said it's logical to have an ego? No wait, you're probably correct, I kneel before you, facing the ground, and my right hand on my chest. Mediocrity, or a heart attack, I'll lay dead too. Bahaha my iq is over 160 fu&k that

  • @Cschive Please. You're the one who started this by making some irrelevant comment about something I wrote, and so I responded....what did you expect?

  • i thought that paper was a napkin, sorry mankind

  • Looks like a lot of jealous people here lmao. Don't hide your jealousy with some bullshit story about slighting Darwin, you're jealous. He's got a few screws loose for whatever reason, and you're going to berate him because he isn't perfect, fucking losers.

  • @Unicron6 Besides his IQ, there's honestly not much to be jealous about. He hasn't really done much with his life but acts all bitter about it, which is more irritating than anything else. No one is berating other accomplished geniuses like Einstein, who clearly has so much more to envy.

  • @lapianista555 Ok, well I seriously doubt he'd be catching as much flack if he was "normal" asshole who was abused as a child. We'd all just say yeah he's an asshole, but he was an abused child you have to cut em some slack for that. Not blowing his Darwin comment out of proportion and ragging like decrepit old windbags.

  • @Unicron6 The drawn-out Darwin debate was in response to a poster who apparently thought Langan was honoring Darwin by mentioning him....in any case it's clear that every other comment Langan makes is some form of self-aggrandizement.

  • @Unicron6 If he were a "normal" asshole, it'd be the opposite for me. He'd have absolutely nothing to back up his delusions, so I'd consider him even more irritating.

Yeah Langan was abused and that's unfortunate, but so are many other people who ultimately overcome it whereas he seems to be using it as an excuse. Regardless of intelligence or background, at the end of the day no one likes an arrogant douchebag.

  • His theory of size and smartness is absurd and ridiculous. Is he going to tell me an elephant is smarter than a human being? A whale? This mans IQ cannot prove anything and I honestly do not consider this man a genius.

  • This guy is definitely not a genius. Proof: His comment about head size most likely being correlated to intelligence. So, by this logic I could make the rough conclusion that a sperm whale is more intelligent than this faker....right? This guy is either a complete fraud. Or, like many charlatans, just smart enough to fake his intelligence by orders of magnitude.

  • @EJNewbury

Just because the correlation isnt perfect does NOT mean there is no correlation. If you took a statistics class you would know that. Correlation can be measure from -1 (perfect negative correlation) to 0 (no correlation) to 1 (postive correlation). Data often fits somewhere in between those metrics. Let me leave you with a few words of wisdom from langan himself "the stupid person thinks he is as smart or smarter than the smart person... and therein lies his stupidity".

  • @wittenberg5 You're a ridiculous hippocrite. You sit here and insult me, patronize me and then you leave some "wisdom" about me thinking I'm smarter? After my comment was about how intelligence can't be quantified? That's your evidence of my hubris? You know, the only problem with tearing your argument to pieces is that you wouldn't even realize that it just happened. You didn't even tackle the argument I made. I called his "theory" out by saying that if brain size was - (cont)

  • Comment removed

  • @wittenberg5 You're just some asshole that trolls people. I just looked at your shit. Everyone that talks to you calls you an idiot. Guess what that means? YOU"RE A FUCKING IDIOT. Now, I'm done bothering with you. GO AWAY!

  • @EJNewbury

lol you clearly cant refute my arguments. You know i was right about statistics and super iq tests, so you moan like a little bitch instead of tackling the substance of what i said. Typical loser. Oh and again you are wrong. Just because a couple people on my page who are morons like you think i am dumb, does not mean everyone i have talked to thinks i am dumb. You must have cheated your way through middle school! LOL

  • @wittenberg5 Lol, really? That's how you treat people? I'm gunna go ahead and guess you're a good catholic. Cause, you know, that's how they roll. Taken after Jesus with the loving your fellow man thing. I'm sorry, Witten, I think this just needs to end. I'm sorry for whatever misunderstanding happened here, but, we're through. Have a nice day. And good luck. Now, I'm asking you to NOT message me again. Period.

  • @wittenberg5 (cont2) had even enough correlation to play into intelligence then the sperm whale would be the smartest animal on the planet. So, obviously, he's over estimating just weighing out someones brain. Lastly, that comment in itself is ridiculous. So, how do we determine who the "smart people" are - by an IQ score? How convienient. Then, by his comment, you can NEVER critique anyone ever again, if they deem themselves smarter. (Cont3)

  • @wittenberg5 (cont3) So, in that case, I now declare myself smarter then you, ergo, you can no longer argue with me without you automatically being the idiot. I WIN!! You're right, this method is AWESOME. What a cheap charlatan trick. You know the real tragedy of you, is that you've bought into him so much that you really WOULDN'T question him - even if you wanted to. You literally now will accept anything he says, I suppose unless it didn't appeal to your bias...What am I doing? Wasting my time

  • @EJNewbury Thanks, Witten, for reminding me of this video so I could trash this guy some more: I love in the start of this interview when he says that there was an advertisment for a "difficult IQ test." Wouldn't it defeat the purpose of an IQ test to have there be an Easy, Medium and Hard version. Then you'd have to compare scorings based on which group you're in instead of just standardizing it.

  • @EJNewbury

Jesus you are a moron. Let me clear up a couple points of confusion.

    1. I did tackle your argument, you just aren't smart enough to see it. I was pointing out that just because something doesn't hold absolutely doesn't mean their is no correlation. So just because whales have bigger heads than humans, and are dumber, does NOT mean that their is no relationship between headsize and intelligence since in most other cases creatures with larger heads are smarter. got it

    (cont)

  • F.R.A.U.D.

  • Well, I guess Dinosaurs create some sort of exception to the "Bigger Head, Larger Intelligence" as no records of Reptilian Sentience exist.

  • @JoeBlabbah Fuck me. Let's take a wooly mammoth and sit its ass down in a nuclear reactor and see if it doesn't blow half the earth to hell.

The bigger the smarter... haha. Langan is a disgrace.

  • Yes, saying Darwin is "way down in the toilet," is a bit harsh and irrational (yes, even for you Mr. Langan). Having an abnormally high IQ is a very large advantage, but what you do with it, generally constitutes your success. 135 is about 35% better than the average (100), but Darwin made such monumental advances in the Sciences, that we ignore the IQ, but look at the results.

  • yeah school etc sucks

  • Notice the contradiction in your statement: you criticize me for judging him as unsuccessful, and yet by the same token you judge me for (by pure assumption on your end) not being as successful as him. Hmm....

"i understand words good, goddamn, and well."

Is English your second language? Also, how does he spurn only certain parts of academia? Now it's your turn.

  • It's not an issue of how successful or unsuccessful he is; it's fine by me if a brilliant guy happily settled for a janitorial job (not to reference any movies or anything). The issue is that deep down he actually desires fame and recognition, but like I've said a million times before, he rationalizes his own earlier lack of motivation/decisions by demeaning everyone to deflect blame from himself. That is the problem. His attitude.

  • LOL...the sea is becoming a desert AND the polar icecaps are melting. FAIL

  • then take a really large head like a whale, and you can see why the Japanese fishing fleets always come home with nothing and why whales rule the world.

  • It's about him being the "smartest man in the world", but they revolve around details of his life relatively common to any layman's. So at this point,I'm watching this, waiting to be impress by his superior intelligence, but for now I'm just hearing personnal anecdotes of fights and his perception of other people that he came across in his academic parcours - leaving me still wandering why am I even caring.

my comment is more against the realisation of the docco then an opinion against the man.

  • He said that a centipede is not very smart but how do we know that??

  • Water displacement gives the volume of your head, not your brain....although he is correct in that one's brain is inside their head.

  • apparently the smartest man in the world....shit memory though. Fag.

  • He seems very annoyed by all of this...

  • hes so full of himself lol

  • still don't get so many people are offended by this guy.

  • This guy would make the perfect Haggar if there was a Metro City movie.

  • He's wrong my head is probably bigger than his but i'm not a genius. Well i'm smart and an overachiever in school but I wouldn't call myself a genius.

  • @perfectshot77 No dude, he says there is "some" kind of correlation.

  • And now he deals with the fact that others who are less intelligent than he is are also more successful than he is by using his high IQ as a vehicle of achievement, saying that Darwin is "way down in the toilet" because of his 135 IQ. He spurns academia while desperately wanting to be a part of it by working on his theories on the side. Of course he has the potential to do great things etc, but the thing is, he hasn't. And you have to earn your accolades.

  • @lapianista555 how does it appear that he is "dealing" with it. What do you really mean to say? Does this look like a man in conflict or does he appear overall calm? Keep in mind this is an interview, clown, so these people are asking for his input regarding that matter. He has created a theory, so how can you even say he hasn't done anything great? he is also being interviewed here, not you, "hey jealousy". Show us all where your opinions are sought or shut up. Academia refers to a school dum

  • @rexrubensteinstudios Lol...you need to calm down. Here's why I'm irritated with this guy: he wasted his genius by dropping out of college, and years later, he finally regrets it. However, he also denies that his own decisions led to his unremarkable life, blaming instead the school, academic community, and society. On top of all that, he demeans others who have accomplished and contributed to society infinitely more than he has. He's the one with jealousy issues, not me.

  • @lapianista555 exactly how much do you know about this man? what are your sources? how does it appear that he is frustrated/ dealing with something? i still feel like you are misusing the word academia, which popularly associated with universities and Academies, does not apply.

  • @rexrubensteinstudios I know as much as he reveals about his attitude and life in these videos, plus some extra reading online and in Malcolm Gladwell's book. Yes, he's calm in the sense that he's not throwing a tantrum or anything, but it's still obvious that he's extremely bitter and frustrated with the world of academia/society in general.

"I still feel like you are misusing the word academia." I'm not.

  • @lapianista555 evidenced by what? just cuz you say its so doesnt make it true.

did you go to college? i can tell you arent argument paper material! cuz i can tell you arent completely addressing me :P because ive already asked you how he appears to be dealing with it like twice bef

right but neither am i misusing the word, pi pi!

  • @rexrubensteinstudios Lol...I answered you every single time; it's not my fault you don't understand plain English. He deals with his life situation by putting down accomplished people, by saying that Darwin is "way down in the toilet" and insulting academics. I've commented earlier in detail in the thread, so if you truly, desperately want the "sources", go ahead and search the previous pages. I'm a college student, and I'm just telling it how I see it, not writing a research paper.

  • @lapianista555

What are you brainwashed? Look at you believing Darwin is important because someone sat you in a desk and taught you so :)

    So cute

  • @Cschive What's your point? I'd like to hear your argument that Darwin is an unimportant figure, considering that he set the stage for modern evolutionary theory. And yes, I learned this in a classroom. Is there a reason to believe this is untrue? But my original point in using Darwin was to compare with Langan. Darwin did something meaningful. Langan didn't but acts like he did, and even slights Darwin. It doesn't take someone sitting me in a desk to realize this. But nice try.

  • @lapianista555

If we go back to what Langan said, he was comparing IQ scores, not achievement,

In essence IQ does not equal "Academic" achievement.

Anyways, I'm not going to get suckered into your question about Darwin as an unimportant figure, that is irrelevant to me, and please for the love of god don't take me seriously, life is too important

  • @Cschive Yes but Langan makes it seem as if IQ score equals achievement, as if having a higher IQ score placed you above anyone else with a lower score, regardless of any tangible achievements. Hence his condescension. Whatever, man, you brought up the issue in the first place:)

  • @lapianista555

Hey now wait hehe, the interviewer said 210 was high, so I think Chris innocently conquered with his statement and provided examples of other IQs, however he doesn't have people with higher IQs to compare with

  • @Cschive If he was innocently comparing IQs with other academics as you say, then he would not have later bashed those at the top of the academia pyramid as being full of dunces. (nor would he have used the "toilet" phrase) And he would not have said that the world should be in the hands of the high-IQ community rather than academia, as if the two are mutually exclusive (which they're clearly not).

  • @rexrubensteinstudios "right but neither am i misusing the word, pi pi!"

    1. Did you go to college?

    2. Well, since you said academia is a school, you actually are misusing it...

All right, enough. No more feeding a troll...

  • @lapianista555 thats right pi pi.... i know words good, goddamn and well. as you are aware there are multiple definitions. so, you, you arrogant prick assume that your defintion is the ONLY definition. you better be careful when you come into my court of law. What'd you say, "...academia as a school is in misuse?" Is that the exact quote here? if you're going to dispute this featured humans intelligence, why dont you pick a real challenge. you're player hating fromt he sidelines

  • @rexrubensteinstudios Never disputed his intelligence, just his attitude and choices. Yes that's an exact quote. I never said that mine is the only definition; I just said that yours is wrong. Academia is not a distinct university/college/school; at the most, it's an association with or the scholarly interests of a school, not the school itself. So yes, you really are misusing it.

  • @lapianista555 but its NOT HIS DEFINITION. he uses the word academia here, we're bound by his definition. thats where were missing each other. he spurns academia in his own words. THOSE ARE HIS WORDS. ACADEMIA=COLLEGE/SCHOOL. does that make sense to you NOW? im 28 and i dont mind the dizzy quality of internet debates. so who are you, what is your relevance, do you have some expert relationship to academia or the HIQ community? still how is he dealing with it when he simply recalls opinions?

  • @rexrubensteinstudios He's not referring specifically to his college when he says "academia stinks..it's a cold, heartless bureaucracy"; he's referring to the general academic world, which goes far beyond simply a college. And he never said specifically that academia is a college/school. In his article "The State of the HIQ World" he refers to its broader connotation.

  • @rexrubensteinstudios "i can tell you aren't argument paper material!" "thats right pi pi"

It's funny you say that because every time you comment you have to resort to childish name-calling instead of actual reasoning to back up your arguments. Never mind the college bit: are you really 28?

  • @rexrubensteinstudios Sorry to interfere, but I don't see what's wrong with Lapianista's message. I wonder (rhetorically of course) what would we know about Langan, if IQ tests were never invented, ceteris paribus.

Calmness on the interview isn't exactly what I'd be giving too much relevance. I rather focus on the meaning of his statements. "Academia"-generally you both are half-right, but you can see what Langan means with it in his article "The State of the HIQ World", which has some points.

  • @lapianista555 is this you: 1@DarkHoodsProductions Hahah see use an internet gangsta faggot ass nigga. Blocking niggas and shit, muthfucka use a big old pussy. Beat sucks hard dick...

posted 2 months ago by Pomaori

@DarkHoodsProductions Na use a fake ass nigga, quit with the internet gangsta routine. Your ass aint doing shit that niggas aint been doin fo ages. Send...

posted 3 months ago by Pomaori

cuz you look REALLY stupid if thats you....

  • @rexrubensteinstudios Did you seriously just paste random racist comments and try to pass them off as mine just to make me look bad? Because if you did, then you're the one who looks extraordinarily stupid. LOL

  • @lapianista555 ha ha thats right folks just click on his name and you can see allt he comments he has left....

  • @rexrubensteinstudios What makes you think I'm a guy?

Instead of admitting you're wrong (and you know you are), you pathetically try to cover for your idiocy by associating me with offensive comments you probably just made up. I seriously hope you're a troll, because I can't fathom such an extreme case of arrested development in anyone who claims to be 28. Ridiculous.

  • @lapianista555 Recognize u judge him to not be successful by your standards. Hes on a game show, hes being interviewed (youre not successful as he so far by my judgement) and by appearances, he has a higher IQ than you, so what makes you so great to sit and judge him? You say he uses his IQ as a vehicle... so, he produced this video? FAIL In comparison, isnt it true that Darwin is lower than him and so it's fair to use a figure of speech ( i.e. toilet)? He spurns only certain parts of academia.

  • @rexrubensteinstudios He clearly considers Darwin inferior to him; otherwise he wouldn't have used a phrase with such a negative connotation. He would have simply said that Darwin had a 135 IQ if he were just stating a fact. Even then, just by mentioning that Darwin has a lower IQ score, he's already placing himself above one of the greatest legends in science. How can you not see his arrogance? Lol

  • @lapianista555 im not convinced he's extremely frustrated with society of any kind. i know YOU cant prove he "deals" with anything. who cares about college. did you go? bet u "followed" that beaten path (how remarkable) yawn. what is so great about darwin anyways? theory of evolution (yawn) Langan recognizes him here (darwin should be honored). you sound like someone (a no name as you appear) to be obsessed with bringing him to your miserable level, where two and possibly three's company.

  • @rexrubensteinstudios "what's so great about darwin anyways?" What's so great about Langan? It's not my job to convince you of anything. Read the other comments: no one agrees with you or takes you seriously, and yet you still blow off empty steam that you're losing by the tankful. I already told you I'm a college student, and I can assure you that what I'm aiming for is extremely fulfilling to me. But I'm curious, what path did you follow, rex? I doubt you'll answer that.

  • @lapianista555 I am tearing into your argument and you back away from it like its nothing. YOU SAY that he's a great. Isn't it your JOB to have a decent argument, as you promote him earlier, substantiate him why dont you? yawn. Langan is here, promoting intelligence, moderation, saying things such as "...leave room for nature", etc. you're a -hater-. i'm in sales, network marketing and a performing stand up comedian. and you're food. and what are you aiming for (lets hear the cogent position).

  • @rexrubensteinstudios How exactly are you tearing into my argument? Lol, I think it's the other way around, rex. I gave you numerous examples of his condescension and proved your use of "academia" wrong, and yet you still rant nonsensically like a five-year-old, even though you say you're 28. Not my fault you refuse to listen to reason. You're the one who's promoting him, not me. Langan is here because he was born with an astronomical IQ.That's it. It's practically like winning the lottery.

  • @rexrubensteinstudios "I'm in network marketing". LOL! If that's true, you should probably develop more effective ways to attract customers than swearing at them and calling them names, as you do in all your comments. You should probably also learn how to use proper grammar and you know, develop arguments that make sense. Do you work at home? I'm aiming for consulting and going to either grad school, business school, or both. And entering music competitions/performing on the side.

  • @lapianista555 im in network marketing. i read and swim at home. do you know any good debt collectors yet?

  • @rexrubensteinstudios Don't have to worry about that.

  • @lapianista555 oh really why not?

  • Comment removed

  • @rexrubensteinstudios Yes, he's written a theory, but one that has yet to be published, or even read by others. Who knows, maybe it'll be revolutionary (and I actually hope so) but maybe it won't because he doesn't have as much education or experience as current published academics. What is clear though, is that his accomplishments so far completely understate his abilities and can hardly be considered great.

And academia refers to the community of scholarly research, not a school...XD

  • @lapianista555 I agree with you, however I wouldn't even call his ideas a "theory" (in the scientific sense). It's not even a hypothesis, since hypotheses need to be testable. In this case, you cannot test for God. I would just call it an "idea".

  • @803T Fair enough. I was using the term in a generic way, but you're right--"ideas" would be more suitable.

  • @lapianista555 Exactly.

  • @lapianista555 If he really is as smart as he says he is, and the tests seem to indicate (lets forget about the reliability of such tests), I think that leaves him in the position of completely wasting his intellect. People with far less IQ have done far greater things than this guy. What is the point of a sports car that looks like an average car and never drives past the speed limit? Nothing but a shameful waste. A bouncer at a bar? shameful.

  • same problem...different head

  • I think his smart but has no ambition.Ambition can make a man smart even if his dumb as shit.

  • @VIEW8472

Dude, have you seen this guy's CTMU? There are 34 thousand words to it

I'd be careful on labeling ambition, because on the level of the average person on any foundation does not have that ambition. I respect this man, because he is needless to say, a hard working individual, although I find it a pity society puts him in a position where he is not being used to his full potential, for our full potential

  • I have mixed feelings about this guy. On the one hand, he was born into an unlucky set of circumstances and an abusive environment that pushed him back in life. However, now he uses his high IQ to obtain an unfounded sense of accomplishment and superiority over everyone else, even Einstein and Darwin! Yes, he may be more intelligent than 99.99% of the population, and hopefully now he will attempt to fulfill his potential...but until he does, he shouldn't be praised for what nature gave him.

  • @lapianista555

You see it's hard to draw that conclusion at that point because on one hand it may not seem he's trying as hard as we'd want him to to fulfill a responsibility as if he's obligated to, which he isn't, or we're missing the point of what it's like to be in his position with a higher level of perception. Lol, he points out that he doesn't want to do hard labor, he could be paid to help cure cancer, develop new technologies, or solve poverty...etc unfortunately IQ isn't considered

  • @Cschive I'm not saying that he must fulfill an obligation to society. (If anything, he seems to be the one who wants to prove himself through attempting to publish his theories) I'm saying that he shouldn't act superior simply because of the lucky hand genetics dealt him. Yes, he had a rough childhood, but ultimately his own decision-making landed him where he is right now. He chose to instigate fights and drop out of college instead of trying to figure out his financial aid situation/adapt.

  • if he is the smartest man in the world, why isn't he changing the world with his ideas? why isn't he a leader, or scientist, or doctor? If he is the smartest man in the world then he surely could find a way out of his job as a bouncer. I.Q. only matters to a certain degree, if evidence for it didn't already exist, this man could prove it

  • @MustHaveRocknRoll Hitler changed the world. Was he among the smartest in the world? Scientists, doctors etc. (you imply they're smart) changed the world all right. Did they change it for the better? (rhetorical) Think (that is, first look around you) about it.

  • at 0:59 there seems to be a problem with his theory on larger head = smarter, take a fucking elephant or a whale for example... i rest my case lol

  • what a wank, just wants to tell everyone some sob story and get his 15 min if fame. he hasnt actually done anything intelligent except recall infomation that has already been documented... If he's so smart why doesnt he come up with solutions instead of just pointing out problems with what is wrong in the world, which most of us already know! He had a whole other way of looking at A.I. but forgot... wasnt his fault he had to leave school... lol he has a good excuse for everything tho lol

  • @Windle83 "If he's so smart why doesnt he come up with solutions "

I guess the answer to this (rhetorical) question is that he proposed solutions (but in my opinion he mis-named the group of people who'd have to be on the top or utopically everywhere-he'd choose intelligent, I'd choose honest, strong (at least in the sense of self-control) and able), but nobody want to put him in charge. Tough luck!

  • @mujotomi Regarding doing something intelligent as a sign of intelligence I'd pose a little objection, because history shows that many things so called geniuses invented have done more damage than good, so I'd regard one who doesn't do anything of consequence because he knows (or foresees) the consequences as (more) intelligent (or at least moral and honest)...Here I'm not necessarily talking about Langan.

  • dolphin's brain is bigger than humans, dumbass

  • cant pronounce El Stupido correctly.... dumb ass

  • has this guy done anything remotely fun or interesting in his life?

  • If you look away he sounds like Alex Jones. Alex Jones is an idiot too.

  • Academia nuts.

  • Squirrel monkeys have heads smaller than housecats and they're far smarter... Tigers have a head much larger than a housecat and they have relatively the same level of intelligence... Again I say that everything about this guy reeks of bullshit...

  • lol this guy isn't intelligent, not even a bit.

  • I don't have any doubt that his IQ is high. What he lacks is a great deal of knowledge. Even the notoriously stupid YouTube army has accurately refuted his cranial size/intelligence correlation bullshit with ease.

  • He's very cynical and almost sounds like he falls under an Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Dinosaurs had huge head, but puny brains. so wtf

  • he might be intelligent but he is also one of the most boring one!!! how much is his EQ I wonder?!

  • Did he just say that he could measure the volume of his brain with displacement?

Sure, if he opens his skull and removes it, first....

  • @Saerain Sure, he forgot that when you turn your head upside down, you encounter a rush of blood into the head which among other things (skull, muscles, skin mass etc.) add to displacement, but he also didn't know that the volume of the brain can be determined pretty accurately by MRI (even in the days of this interview), but he "must" know now, so it would be nice if someone could ask him if he's prepared to prove he really has such a big brain.

  • @mujotomi In the "Mismeasure of man" we encounter some "noteable" people of phrenology who'd surely be disapointed if they knew their brain were quite insignificant-I suppose they thought they had big brain (judging by their convictions), so I think they had big skulls, but not very full, so Langan could be disappointed (though to me his skull doesn't look as big as he claims to be).

  • at the start when he says that the size of someone or something head is representative of their intelligence is the most unintelligent thing he could have said. is he suggesting that elephants are smarter than us? its a matter of fact that once the size of the brain goes over slightly bigger than the average persons the intelligence begins to deteriorate.

brain size is not representative of intelligence.

sorry smartest guy in the world. you are not that smart.

  • @theUKatheist I'm pretty sure he was talking about the encephalization quotient (brain size in relation to body size), in which case a human's brain is about 4.2 times larger than a whale's and 7 times larger than an elephant's.

  • @Saerain im pretty sure he never mentioned that so we cant assume he meant it that way. all he mentioned was the size of thier heads. not even the brain. just the head lol.

  • @ian55554 i see you removed your comment , maybe think before you type next time when calling people a dumbass, DUMBASS! fail for you!
