While I respect Cowie as a critic, I detest this sort of heavy-handed second-by-second commentary. I wish it wan't superimposed over this great piece of film. It's irritating to hear what you are looking at described, as if the speaker thinks it's his show and his surprises. No breathing space for discovery of the magic of this Bergman moment. Could you repost it without the "explantation"?

Where did you get this? I don't think that I've ever seen this film before; it seems hard to find (Come on Criterion!), and I'd love to see it.

I think that the commentary is presuming that you have already seen the film.

yeah, don't worry- it's a commentary, in which he was asked to comment, not "The Magician by Peter Cowie"
