How can such a well thought out amp have such a horrible option for foot switching? Someone dropped the ball on that one. I mean... 3 separate pedals requiring 3 separate chords? That's annoying and complicated. It will make a mess on the floor on stage.
@SwedishBlouse Well, for one thing, the amp only has one input so to plug a guitar and a mic into this amp you would need a mini mixer. Even if you managed to connect both the guitar and the mic I still don't think it would be advisable. Whatever setting you had on the guitar would also apply to the mic. If you had an over driven 'Mesa Boogie' sound with a phaser on the guitar you would have the same effect on the vocal. When you switch to an AC30 with tremolo the vocal would also have tremolo.
@dieandgoaway Open back has a tighter sound, closed back has better bass, you can get a half closed back, aswell as new amps having a sliding door that allows you to choose the amount of the cab you want to be open
This IS a pro amp! Line 6s are good but not that reliable and expensive to repair. The sounds on the cube are amazing and cus they sound authentic and rich. The problem with some line 6s is the volume jump when you change channel! Amps like line 6s and fenders sound too tinny; they dont have the rich sound of the cube!
no i have a line out of my shittt marshal mg series amp lots do. its not a dream to have a line out because no one uses them. if you look at anyone doing demos of good amps, there is a mic in front of the amp. you just clearly dont know what you are talking about
Actually the cube does. Think about it, just becasue you may have a line 6, the cube still sounds better. Roland work with boss who make the best effects pedals and all the sounds have been incorporated into this amp!
I've been thinking about getting one of these. Problem is my drummer is super loud and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this could deal with that as well as bigger gigs.
I don't know, probably can if you put it a high volumes, I have the 20x version and this thing can scream enough to vibrate my rooms walls, my wood desk, etc.. The 60 is probably enough.
@TheFretDancer I use my cube at band practice and its ok at keeping up with drummer.. not amazing but i wouldnt recommend it for gigs unless really small. Good amp though
@TheFretDancer I use my cube 60 at band practice and its ok at keeping up with drummer.. not amazing but i wouldnt recommend it for gigs unless really small. Good amp though
@TheFretDancer if u want to play in a band or at gigs... u aint gonna need a Roland... it can get loud, but you dont really need those effects if u want to run to your amp in the middle of the gig.. but then u have to buy an footswitch wich costs well... (alot) go for laney, peavey, or even marshall or orange if u have money... always its useful to get a pedal too.. ;)
dont people realise they look a total gack with that janet jackson style microphone hanging over their face, u expect him to start offering you three bottles of knock off designer perfume guv'nah for a score
Anyone got problem with acoustic simulation spot when u hit strings little harder the speaker crunches or somtin like that? I got that problem but nothing in clean channel, only in acoustic simulation:P
i like the 60 its got a deeper sound. idk why but i tried the 30 in a music stor and a 60 (both set the same) and i got a heavier tone, also the clean tone was magnificant on the 60. it was good on the 30...but 60 in my opinion is better. thts why im getting it
It's irresponsible to recommend to beginners to buy a tube amp when they really have no need for it and all the problems associated with maintenance of a boob tube amp
Exactly. Better to get a few really good tones from a tube amp than a zillion tones that are unusable. A cheap okay tube amp would be Peavey Valve King for example
I've got a valve king. I've had no problems so far. and the distortion sounds great but the clean channel could be better, but it is a good amp, though...
dude i have this amp and a line 6 pod, there isn't a sound on earth i can't get it's a truelly great setup the roland cube has been called a super amp because it's so good :P

This comment has received too many negative votes show
This is def not a Pro Amp.
This is for Beginners who are starting off playing Guitar, Because it is Very Cheap and Loud!
I would recomend a Line 6 Spider instead of this because it sounds so much better!
36hunters 2 years ago
:(
You're right in saying that this is not a pro amp.
But recommending the Line 6 spider over this?
Look:
VOX VT for more classic stuff
Peavey vypyr for heavier stuff
Roland cube a bit of both.
Those are great practice amps, even usable to some extent as giggin amps.
Line 6 is just noobish. It gives you too much but nothing really remarkable.
xxxxneoxxxx 2 years ago
Ive tryed all them amps out...
Cube is one of the worst, Vox is a little better but bad.
The Vypyr and Spider are both very good Amps...
Just going off experience!

My guess would be that it could, and if you needed it louder, you could plug it into some bigger speakers or a PA.

for big gigs you will have to mic it anyways.
