from 2008-2011 in My state that is where there noirmally aint likely 2 have tornados but not impossible we've had many tornados/ waterspouts every summa where on tornado watch 2day till 7:45 last week til 8:00
Ah the good old tornado sirens in Frisco. I used to live on Lebanon Rd and there was one right outside my door. They set it off one morning at 1:00am because of straight line winds.
that type of siren would wake the freakin dead let alone anyone up from a deep sleep! The ones we have here are weak twisted ambulance sounds...i miss the old thunderbolts. Wish they would bring them back..or these things on the vid. creeps me out but at least you can hear them.
I am not sure this was the same storm/point in time when the Plano sirens did not go off. If I remember correctly, the Plano sirens failed to activate (because of human inaction) during an overnight storm, not during the day, when this video was taken.
Very nice video of the rain, thunder, and tornado warning sirens... love the sights and sounds.... nice fadings from one segment to another. BTW...this very date in 1974, 4/3..the biggest tornado outbreak EVER... 148 tornadoes in only 16 hours!! Too bad camcorders and YouTube didn't exist back then..being 34 years ago. I do remember the outbreak...but alas..I missed the audiotaping of the Tstorms the following morning.. meanwhile KUTEW..on the videoings here...
Yeah the wind down does sound similar to a Whelen but the actual wail signal sounds the same as the ATIs from a news video I found about Friscos new system.

The tornado sirens there don't seem as creepy as some that I've heard before, still a scary situation though.

Frisco actually has a system with a combination of Whelen 4004s and ATI HPSS32s. I believe the siren primarily heard is an ATI.

That siren I believe is a whelen because of the winddown
