I recently watched this 'movie' and I'll admit, I can see both sides of the arguement. It is offensive and obviously paying heavy homage to the Columbine shootings, but I'll give it props for it's satirical value. In a tasteless way, it does try to shed light on who the killers were, why they did what they did, and some responces to their actions (although this was made before a lot more information on Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold was released).
it's actually a very subtle (but fucking shit) portrayal of how everyone reacted to the shootings. Like the cop standing outside just listening to the gunshots and the news reporter "so exciting, i mean, tragic

It's very disrespectful to the families of those lost. Yeah, in the Polytechnique massacre ONE more person was killed. However 15 died in total which would make the death toll equally matched. 21 were also injured. Which would make the number of injured higher. Therefor making it a somewhat bigger tragedy. Both are horrible imo.
@xXXxFORGETxXXx people make movies about things like this all the time. like a few years ago they made some flick about the world trade centres, only like 3 years after it happened. they even made a movie about the titanic only 3 years after it sank but it is hard to find. there is even movies currently being made about iraq and afghanistan not after the war, but while it is still going on.

My script is more like Columbine meets Taxi Driver, Midnight Cowboy, Apocalypse Now. I'm using some really inventive fading techniques to show the characters distance from reality from all the antidepressant drugs he's on.

I think, with this kind of thing, you either get it or you don't. People watching it expecting to see a purely offensive film may be disappointed; it's satire. I think it's quite clever in places; you just have to know where to look. The media standpoint was just as offensive, I think.
They should never consider calling any movie about a school massacre a "comedy" of a "spoof". I wonder what the parents of the Columbine or Virginia Tech victims think about this.

i think portraying the two shooters as homosexual showed that they "shared a bond" showing that they were gay was another way of showing their closeness and there was a lethal,twisted, and obsessive bond that dylan and eric held with eachother...even though the real life dylan and eric were not romantically invoilved i thought it was an interesting perspective on the writer/directors part.

I work with the guy who made the film. One of the good stories about this film is when it was released. Someone from Columbine saw it and call the authority in New Jersey and got him arrested on bring guns on school grounds.

Reminds me a lot of the style Troma has with a lot of their product, and they are an amazing company in my eyes. Another movie added to the list.
