I couldn t do chins and barely could hang from the bar cause my shoulder would hurt.Got a doorway pull up bar july 2009.Also got a power rack ,barbell, bench, etc. I started cheating with the chins and did a couple jumping ones everytime i passed under the bar which is in the kitchen door. So i progress in the chins and pulls...Two days ago i reached 7 dead hang chins from my power rack...Woman i don t wanna hear you say that you will do them one day ,do them now!!I am a 44 and started at 43.Go !
@goldkitten66 You go! I can actually do a couple of chins and I know it just takes some work to build up and learn just what muscles I need to be using to do them. Thanks for the kick in the but, though! Awesome motivation!
Very nice!!! I have the ball, weights, resistance bands & my gym grade elliptical just arrived today!!! It weighs over 300 lbs so Imma have to have my father in law come over this weekend & help me put it together. Hubs is away for work!!!
Great range of equipment! I would say dumbells are the essential peice, better still if they are adjustable as you can put extra plates on for different exercises rather than having to buy and store a new pair for every exercise! Another useful piece of kit would be a suspension strap system. If you are super-rich, buy the TRX. If not, its very easy and cheap to make one yourself and find hundreds of exercises on YouTube!
I do weight training 4-5 times/week, depending on the split that I'm doing...this takes anywhere from 30-60 min, again depending on the split. I also do cardio most days of the week for 30-45 minutes.
That's great as long as you're not sitting for hours at a time watching TV...there are many exercises you can also do while you are watching the TV. I like to use my Gazelle while I watch a show for 30-45 min.
very nice
