I want to Upgrade from my SX210 but im going to wait and see if Canon will release a 2012 model even if its just got some small refinement from the SX230/220 and i would also like it if they added a Auto Scene for night sky shoots like the Moon and such
@Nicki23q It's the option right above the one for videos on the top dial. Press the FUNC. SET button to bring up the options and there they are, right at the top. I think fish eye is the one that will be enabled by default.
@PaymentGear The face plate itself seems to be plastic, but it doesn't feel cheap at all. The "frame" running around the camera is metal. There are screws all around the sides, so I guess it can be disassembled, but knowing my two left hands I will definitely not try that. ;)
Why doesn't the pictures take up the entire screen while you review the pictures? I don't think the SX210 IS had this issue? It seems like a major drawback that wasn't mentioned in the review. Please help!!
@Villanova24 The SX230 has a wide-format screen - a 16:9 ratio, like an HDTV. Most pictures are standard format - a 4:3 ratio (or 12:9 for comparison) like an old tube TV. So when you view a regular, standard-format photo (like most photos) on the SX230's widescreen, there will be black bars on the sides. HD videos will fill the whole screen (they don't on most cameras) and you can also shoot photos in 16:9 if you prefer. But it's really not a problem at all, was same on SX210.
@raiseyf Thanks for the response. Shows how much I pay attention - I had a SX210, but recently lost it - apparently I didn't mind it back then either - do you own this camera? I loved the SX210 - not too excited about the GPS addition - don't find too much value in it.

Is there anyway, you can demonstrate that camera with a "color accent" picture and in movie mode? Thanks.

Strange question. Is the face plate metal or plastic? Can it be disassembled?

@PaymentGear I'm think it's metal.
