  • @RichardElden

Your planet (whatever it is, or was) has long-since departed. Defend your bold and seemingly nonsensical statement.

  • @RichardElden Pro war?? You fool. A pacifist family of Quakers trying to stay out of a Civil War that threatens them is a pro war film, really? I doubt Cooper hated this great film. He did want to include a scene where the father does join the fight I read. I think it is you that is awful and quite callow..

  • @irish89055 I think his point is that a pacifist family is ultimately forced into supporting the war, thereby seemingly making it pro-war. I'm not sure I agree with either your or his statement, however. I don't see it as being pro- or anti-war. This film is about a family whose ideals and way of life are threatened and challenged by the war.

  • Fantastic movie, one of my all time favorites. Saw it when it first came out in the theater, I was 8 years old and fell in love with it and also Tony Perkins and Pater Mark Richman. Incredible that Tony Perkins went from this role to Norman Bates in Psycho just a few years later.
