I grew up on the far east side of Detroit. I've lived in Charlotte North Carolina for over 20 years. We have poor areas and we have crime too, but...BUT.... There are NO neighborhoods like these in Detroit. None. Detroit was ruined by folks like Coleman Young. Thank God he is dead.

@McOddz313 no, most major cities don't have anything this bad. I understand that not all of Detroit looks like this but the parts that are bad are in complete ruins. These neighborhoods are almost third world living conditions. The Bronx during the 70's didn't even look this bad.

@mattzilla420 Ya i know that most large cities don't have as bad of an appearance as detroit and and not as many vast run down neighborhoods but i still think if your not really doing alot of things you should not be doing your odds of anything happening to you are not that high besides someone breaking into your car or something usually. There is neighborhoods and small towns that may be worse in my opinion,like gary,newark,dc,baltimore is a lil like us,places like flint.

The American people! Cars which there were created in far 70 admire me till now! You need to revive Detroit. Any more it it will not be final such as earlier and the motor industry will not be its prime activity, but it can become economically prospering city at the expense of such resources as tourism, entertainments, the film industry. I trust in the future of Detroit, it is a city with the great past and I hope with great the future.

i live out side of detroit and i am the first to say that it is a pit but there are some nice parts to like near ford field and the baseball field it very nice
but now at least we are getting some movie deals they are making a movie about the hurricane in NO so the are filming it in detroit because NO is already built back up all disaster movies are being made in detroit now because it is a disaster

believe it or not the black unemployment rate is only about 4 percent higher than whites.
and believe it or not the most famous and popular musicians have been black i.e michael jackson mariah carey.
and believe it or not the vast majority of people in detroit worked for the auto industries and when they all collapse selling "kush" may be the only option.
but you dont believe any of that because the only thing you know about blacks comes from hip hop videos right?

I was born in Detroit, and it is hard to believe that this is the city I grew up in. I just hope for all those still there that they can find some way to get out of this mess and rebuild what once was a beautiful city. Great video, and thanks for posting.
