I HATE so much that we're opening the season against Appalachain State., ugh. I never thought we'd actually stoop to the level of scheduling a D1-AA team, but we went and did it. I really, really wish we we're playing a real team (like FSU), which would strengthen both teams' schedules, and likely make for some really good football. I was too young to remember this game, but my dad was there and at the time said it was the worst game he'd ever been to, haha.

I long for the day when FSU and Michigan play again. Almost had it in the 2004 Rose Bowl but overrated Oklahoma had to fuck it up by losing the Big 12 title game. Being from Michigan i remember this game. I've always hated the Wolverines and cheered for FSU just because i wanted Michigan to lose. Been a diehard ever since. Michigan needs to stop hiding behind weak non-conference teams like Appalachian State. Bobby and the Boys will break a contract to play the Wolverines anytime.

jesus i think i like gator fans more than michigan fans. they complain on youtube about a loss they picked up in an era where almost nobody could beat any florida football team in general... then 15 years later, they complain about not playing in the national title game after they LOST to the same team they already played. they didn't even win their conference and their fanbase cried cried and cried about florida taking their place... how do you fools explain the rose bowl this year?

Agreed. The 'Noles are willing to play anyone; just name the time and place. After all, Bobby Bowden's reputation for being "King of the Road" is not without merit. Throughout the years, he has shown time after time again that he is willing to play any school regardless of their football reputation.

I was at that game and as a Wolverine fan and long time Ann Arbor resident, it was horrible. I think Buckley got two picks on Howard. However, when the 'noles tried to take turf things got ugly and none was taken.

Just a little history recap on how that game came to be - Michigan originally had a home and home scheduled with Washington for the 91 & 92 seasons. But at the last second, the huskies dropped us and picked up Nebraska instead. We tried to replace that series with FSU but could only get one game in because FSU's 92 schedule was already full. A coin toss decided where that 91 UM/FSU game would be played.

Thanks for the insight. Like I said in the message I sent you, I only became a Florida State fan after I enrolled. And do mean what I said...we'd love to host the University of Michigan. I'm not scared to play anywhere. I would love to see us play at Doak especially seeing that because FSU pounded us in one game over a decade ago, their fans automatically assume that they would own us EVERY year if we played. GO BLUE!
