It's obvious that the creators of this show are familiar with the philosophy and history of classical liberalism. That is what has become know as libertarian but the ideas expressed in the series are more than causally libertarian. I wouldn't be surprised if they are familiar with the Austrian school of economics.
I loved this show when i was a kid and absolutely gutted when it came to an abrupt end. My views on its termination was like any other excellent series that has been cut short...it always questions authority or the paradigm that we are in... i believe these shows allowed us to think outside of the box ,which " the powers that "be never allow us to see.. WE are slaves to the F****d up system, but we are waking, we just need a "princess" of our own to set the microworkers free.....Get it?
It seems that the really good shows are cancelled before they can catch on to the general public... Does anyone else notice that the closing sequence resembles when The Wizard Of Oz departed in a hot air balloon ??
@spacemouse1 That is a good analysis. Reviewer John Hanauer of UP refered to it as a "Simplified 1984 and a Sinister Wizard of Oz." If he only knew. The unfortunate thing is CBS wanted a family show that would rival Lost in Space and though The Taylor's offered up otherworldly strangeness, some of their stories didn't meet up with CBS' standards and practices of the day for family viewing. So the ones we got were the most family friendly out of the bunch. And it killed the ratings.
Last episode aired, but not the last episode if you believe the other episodes exist and are locked in Cbs vault. Very likely given that this never got an official release.
Even though it was the last episode, this was the best episode of the series IMO, with the exception of Gina's ridiculous "vision" sequence. What were they thinking? That could've been done so much better.
This was a very good show wish it could have been finished i hate when u get into something and it ends with no answers!!!

This series, though interesting and unique, failed to make favorable ratings which is why it was suddenly cancelled. Too bad, I liked it!

I love that old CT scanner against the back wall. Like it's some advanced computer or something.
