@Kapurod You can probably get away with two units by using a high quality mirror at a 45 deg angle at two corners. I would not suggest using this arrangement on wood frame buildings/homes unless the distance is under around 35'. Wood moves especially in damp or dry conditions. Even slight movement will throw the laser off target and activate the lights. Ideally you want concrete/concrete block structures. Make sure the mirrors are securely attached to prevent ANY movement.

I have a query - do you think an array of such a circuit can be used for mapping of a room or a large area...around 30 meters by 50 meters?
Also, what do you reckon is the range of the laser which it travels without diverging?
