@shatteredrift batman didn't "steal" it per se. instead the comic pays homage to Lovecraft's works and their focus on insanity inducing horrors by naming the asylum in Gotham "Arkham," the name of Lovecraft's central city
@shatteredrift on the arkham asylum, Lovecraft wrote until he died several years before the first batman comic was released arkham being a common location or refference, to my knowledge, in his novels
@shatteredrift It's not supposed to be stolen, but a reference. The creator of Batman openly acknowledges that it's the exact same city Lovecraft created :) He's a fan and wanted to boost knowledge of Lovecraft's books.
@shatteredrift I think Lovecraft must have come first. Batman started REALLY early on, earlier than the 40's I think, but Lovecraft was earlier still (20s and even earlier I believe). Awesome names sort of migrate around I guess :)
I thought Zen only watched the first few seconds and stopped after I insulted the Xbox game collection. What's making my commentary weaker in this game?
Yeah, I was a tad worried about that after my test LP with Bioshock. I definitely didn't go onto vary many tangents while playing this: usually right when I started during a given night, since my mind was fresh with other things, and this is the type of game you want to immerse yourself in.
You talk too much.. annoying

Isn't Arkham Asylum the name of the new Batman game coming out soon?
23matto23 2 years ago
I think so. I'm not sure whether Batman stole it from Lovecraft or not.

I gotta agree with Zen and say that so far your commentary on the other LPs was a bit better.

Well, it's more plot in this game so that kind of changes everything. Not so much room for random tangents.
