I had AT&T before switching to Verizon. The people at AT&T are a bunch of assholes who are only interested in getting your money. I went down to AT&T multiple times to change my plan and such but to no avail.

I haven't had any bad experiences with VZW and have actually had a significantly better experience with them already. Until the iPhone branches out to other carriers (it makes perfect business sense to do so) I will not be getting an iPhone nor consider getting one
