  • you are so lovely and talented lady. oh,have you ever try beading and your dress , I see that on some of vogue magazine it's so beauty.Thank you so much for your video.

  • This is a fabulous dress and it allows you to make it your style. love your video's , do you have a link or email that will come out each time you make one? thanks

  • That dress looks so fucking ghetto. It doesn't hug your body at all it looks like a towel. It makes you look like a cylinder or a can of soup. I hope you never wear that outside of your house.

  • Good grief.. how talented are you!

Where did you learn to do this.

    I am ver impressed.

    More please. xx

  • I liked your idea for your dress but I didn't like the sash. I like the belt idea or using around the shoulders. If you had a longer piece of material you could make a train on the back of the dress or or drape it around your neck from the front.

  • I like your idea about making a simple dress & how to do it but I don't like the sash I like the idea of using it as a belt or around the shoulders. If you had a longer piece of material you could put a tail on the back of the dress like a train or drape the material around your neck from the front.

  • I dont know about sewing. but after seeing ur video even i can make my own cloths. Thanks. Ur videos are all informative and money saving.

U r just like my mom who is very talented.

  • Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and supporting The Discount Trendsetter Show. I truly appreciate it.

  • That dress is FABULOUS!

  • love the way u say peace!!!

  • I loved the sash when you put it around your shoulders and tucked it in. It looked very classy. You are very watchable and I love your enthusiasm. I am just learning to sew and am very interested in creating my own dresses as I am a larger size and sick of the matronly clothes the shops want me to buy.

  • i love your personality, you give very good tips! I look forward to your website.

  • Great dress. Clever and creative. I also liked the top you were wearing in part one.

  • Thank you so much. I will be starting a sewing website soon. I will be teaching sewing 101 and so much more. Keep checking in with me to get regular updates. The shirt I had on in the video will be one of my up coming projects.

  • i liked the around the shoulders idea.

  • i loved it when you put it around the shoulders and it looked like big straps kind of well i think you could have cut it and made the straps by sewing the cut ends on the back and front if u don't know what i am talking about look at 2:34.

  • Brilliant! Thanks so much for providing this service to the world.

  • That was a very creative idea to add to the dress. (the flower) The dress looked like it was company made from a store! But, instead of pining the shash and flower to the dress to sew it on because if you are planning on keeping this dress in your wardrobe you are likely going to wash it and in the wash the pins will not stay and ruin the dress. You want it to be secure when you wear it so you need it to be sewed.

  • I liked it much better as a belt. The Sash seems to Pagent-ish.

  • It came out cute with the sash !! I didn't think it'd look great, but it does. I woulda done only a flower though, without the sash.then perhaps added a pair of pink earrings, or a bracelet. the dress is beautiful, though. ! (:

  • I love the flower idea, that's so pretty!

One question though. I couldn't tell how well it was secured to the fabric, and you said it was a bit difficult (w/out sewing it of coarse) but would this work alright in the washer/dryer or would it have to be cleaned specially? I figure the dress would be ok, it's mainly the flower I'd worry about.

  • really love your vid :) not a sewer but you have a good presence

  • For a moment I couldnt see what you were doing. OTher than that, how do u make sleeves? And I live in FL and have no idea where I can get fabric so pretty. I want something kinda "spandexy" too:)

    Love it!

  • Thank you so much for your comment. This was my first youtube DIY project. I think I have come a long ways with the lighting and backdrop. As for as fabric, I just realized some of my favorite fabric stores in L.A. have websites where you can purchase some of the fabrics online. I will be revealing some of the sites in the 2010 DIY videos.

  • That was so creative what you did with the flower!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!

  • DEE!

    Fantastic fortitude!

Keep it coming! You make sewing so accessible!

  • love the video! thanks! this really helps alot. pls could you tell me what fabric you used to make the dress? thanks!

  • I am sorry for the delayed response. I used a stretch knit fabric to make this dress.

  • Hey! I'm in the mood to go make myself a dress... but what if you're a woman more on the larger side, and have wide love handles; as people say lol My waist is thin, but my hips are wide...dresses dont seem to look gd on me cos of my shape... do u have any ideas for a sexy dress for a plus size woman??? thanks xXx

  • In your case, you will need to personally tailor the dress to fit your needs. There are elements you can add to the dress to accommodate your needs. For example, make the dress large enough to fit your hips and then add darts to take in the waist.

  • so awesome .

  • I love these ideas, I would have chosen a different fabric but its so easy to make

  • sooo nice and creative

  • wow your amazingg ,

  • wow. how corny was this video?

  • Woman you are sooo cute! you should come to UK.

  • Hi,

I was wondering if you can make a video

about how to make a prom dress or a

    cocktail dress.

    xx

  • i absoulutely luv your style, your dress is Fantastic!!!!!

  • you get a glimpse of it in the first video-because it is a simple slip dress cut straight there is a bit of a fabric sag above the lower have of the body as the thinner waist was competing between her upper and lower portions-an experienced dress maker would use an upside down v shaped cloth stich to get rid of some of the excess fabric into a small seam

  • what what what???? You are too cute DeeG!

  • I like it when she tucked it in the front

  • i thought she was going to "continue from the last episode" with the dress she was wearing..

  • the dreess is really made well good job. but also you could of showed people how to put on straps..although i hae already guessed how but really good job :)

  • it looks silly with ribbon when u put it like that, like wannabe beauty queen, lol

  • girl, that dress is fly.

i need to get me one!

    holla

  • I really would of liked to see how the back of the dress looks like,

    thank you for posting

  • it looks the same as the front.

  • see the first video..also to dress it up try a transparent cloth remiment in half moon shape sewn to dangle from the top or the mid back along with spagehtti straps...center of flat side of moon sewn in that is rest of fabric drops into place..and straps are two one inch wide scraps at desired length straight stitched inside out after folding each strap in half length wise, then pinned at one end to pull right side out and sewn evenly into place at both ends after pin removal

  • I love that dress! Can you make an A-Line skirt? Thanks.

  • What fabric type is that, do you know?

  • It is a stretch knit.

  • awsum XD

  • your so savvy at saving!

  • At 2:35 you have the pink material as little sleeves on the dress that is..if it was sewed in place. I love that look, because instead of just being a casual dress, the little sleeves now make it a very nice dress to wear.

  • I love this video. Thank you so much for sharing and I love the over the shoulder thing....I might even try to steal that idea for my own dress making experience

  • thankyou soo much for doing this I have wanted to make a dress for a really long time but I didnt know how. I am definatley gonna try.

  • I don't sew, but you make it look so easy I might give it a try. You are a joy to watch and inspiring, thank you!

  • This came out nice. It's actually a tube dress, not A-line. It's very nice nonetheless

  • I LOVE that over the shoulders thing. It looks so cute.

  • i will definitely try this at home :)

i will go for the version when you wraped the fabric around your shoulders!

  • u a hot ,the dress is hot so thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • creative!tks

  • im def gunna try to make my own, this is sooo creative♥

  • The sash thing is so gay... get rid of it...

  • I wish that more schools would bring back home economics. Young ladies need thiese kinds of creative inspirations in their lives. Because young ladies have alot of negative distractions comin' at them, creative sewing, would make for good therepy for the lot of them, I think. Keep 'em comin!

  • typo correction: "these" kinds of creative...

  • Love Love Love the dress! I'm gonna try this! Thanks again!

  • Hi D,

    CUTE and SASSY! Love it.

    Lovely

  • Positive attitude, great style and creativity!! I love it!

    Work it!

  • i believe I am going to try this dress but instead of the sash I am going to make some straps. I really do like this. I have some adorable fabric screaming for this creation.

  • amazing!

  • Nice show and great idea!! Go girl!

  • Hey: Pinkgulf22,

You can make spaghetti straps by taking a small piece of fabric like the example in the video. Instead of using it as a belt or attaching it across the dress, turn your dress inside and out. Then sew one end of the fabric to the front of the dress and the second end of the fabric to the back of the dress. Once you are done, it should look like a strap. Repeat the same steps to create the second strap. I hope this helps. Peace & Blessings

  • Im a little young to wear a strapless dress. How can I make spagetti strings straps?

  • just add straps to the dress.

  • nice personallity

  • Ur great!!I have just recently started sewing I absolutely love your video I am going to try it tomorrow.

  • I made the dress twice. Once with the flower sash and once with the belt both were so cute.

  • Great video D!

  • i really like the idea you had where you wrapped the fabric around your shoulders and tucked it in the dress! great job with the vid! cant wait for next week's episode :D

  • that looks HOT! i think it would look better as a belt just under your breasts, that would look so adorable!!
