hey is there any way you could send me info on getting into operating? im very interested just dont know where to start. would love a job like this. please and thanks. awesome vids!
I was told that an excavator can do virtually all the jobs that a dozer, backhoe, and track loader can do is that true. Do alot of companies use their excavator as the main piece of equipment.
@Smarderthenu Im a driver myself. Operrators think their shit dont stink. I would love to see them try to wheel a 7 axle lowboy in a downtown city. Another thing i have also seen is drivers get out of the truck and get right in the operators face and they back down quick. Alot of them are just talk.
@Smarderthenu Im an operator and a driver and the only thing i can think of is operators expect drivers to follow rediculous hand signals and read their mind all at the same time. However as an operator I can honestly tell you some drivers are brutal cant follow simple instruction, but as a driver operators seem to think theyre the cats meow of the construction site so everyone who isnt an operator including foreman is stupid.
I have done both ends of it and I will say this no matter how much the operator or the driver get pissed you both need each other. If you are dumping for someone else the driver can't read your mind to where you want it dumped. How is a driver supposed to feel when the loader hits the truck, underloads or overloads. It is all about experience there are stupid people doing both jobs. In both situations I learned. Treat the other nicely and things will go well.
@letsdig18 i love your vids but have to say i'm a little offended by your comment. without truck drivers you wouldn't have much of a business. do you drive truck too? operating machines alone doesn't get the clay moved. i'm sure there's plenty drivers that think you operators are "stupid and piss them off". not me because i have no idea what doing your job is like but i'm sure there are some. anyway, keep the vids coming!
@Smarderthenu lmfao..my dad is a dozer operator and when i see him he's always bitchin about how dumb some of those truck drivers can be. I have heard my dad say on the CB go over and dump by the other piles right in front the driver a 1/2 hour later the truck driver is up over the hill and stuck when he shouldn't have been there in the first place..i ran hoe for 2 years and some of them are just plain stupid..1 beep means stop but they just keep on going..i have seen truckers back into the hoe!
@fordct123 He drove truck for 20 years..now he's a dozer operator and no i don't drive truck..i operate different heavy equipment..depends on what the boss wants me in or done
@Knox48x cool. twenty years is a long time. but you'd think he'd be a little more empathetic toward the drivers now that he's an operator, since he knows so well what it's like to do their job, ya know?....
I love your videos. Once I read in one of your post's, you hear a station radiates, with old songs and countri, but not spotted it radiates more on the Internet. You could pass me her name again. By the time he heard it, I liked more. I await your return, Vanier. vanio77@hotmail.com
I just did this for 6 hours today, with a 5' clean out bucket, and found out I can keep up with our Case 871 loader ( 2.75yrd bucket). Also blastin the same tune at one point.
is the music actually on the radio in the cab? if so that sounds like a kick ass system. loud and clear. you get to listen to it that loud while working regularly?
check out this Youtube channel 'TheJamesdoesnt'. He's stolen this video.....Shame on him!. took me a while to work out why it had gone down to 51 views :P
Nice video man. I run a komatsu pc400lc with a 6 foot bucket loading cat 740 articulated trucks and terex 50 ton articulated haulers. That volvo seems pretty fast. I have never ran one. I have only run Cat, John Deere, Komatsu, Hitachi, Daewoo/Doosan, Case/Drott, JCB,Link-Belt and one of my favorites, Kobelco. Well any ways i love your videos, as an oerator myself i enjoy seeing other operators in action. I am a young guy too.
smooth operation, hey i've always wanted to run a volvo, always ran eiter CAT, KOMATSU (WICH ARE A PILE OF CRAP TO SIT IN IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) DEERE, always wonder about how good of a machine a Volvo was
He didnt wanna put too much wait in front makes the load too heavy for the truck and that terrain doesnt look too hard like pavement so on the way out it'll be hard truck might skid.
@letsdig18 lol, u shoulda picked that asshole up with the bucket n dump him in the dumptruck. by the way,wut does it take to become a dumptruck driver?
@poskyflyer u obviously need education to drive a dumptruck!! u can`t just jump into a dumptruck and start driving down the road!! it`s not like that!! it takes education to be able to drive a dumptruck!!!
The volvo Excavators have a nice little storage compartment behind the seat at the top of the cab. All I have to do is wedge the little door open and the camera sits up there just fine.

No rattling, or excessive sway in that arm.

Anyways, thanks for sharing.
