  • Hoooooooomeeeeeer....... Ozzie and the Straw!!

  • Bless You Boys!!! Let's whip them Yankees tonight!

  • Yep, Tiger baseball....saw Kaline break his collarbone at Yankee Stadium....

  • So is it Motor City and not New York City??

  • Baseball will always be the best sport. Why? Because it's so scrappy. There's no replays, no crazy technological 3-d tracking cameras, no do-overs. What happens happens and that's the call. Hopefully it'll stay this way forever. And anyone who disagrees, I challenge you to stay in the batters box while someone throws a 100 mph fastball up near your chin.

  • RIP Harmon Killebrew

the first of just four batters to hit a baseball over the left field roof at Detroit's Tiger Stadium.

    WE lost another true legend.

  • Go Boston Red Sox!

  • I've never watched a Baseball game in my life but this song is great. Got directed here by the Homer at the Bat episode of The Simpsons.

  • @TenWhoWereTaken Same here!

  • Love the song. Hate the Tigers! Go Dodgers!

  • Game 163 best game ever played. espically since the Tigers LOST!!!!!

  • Simpson's Version is Better :D

  • Great Track.

  • you're right

  • 2010. The year of the Tiger.

  • Love them Tigers! Bless those boys. Remember on TV when the Tigers won a game and at the end the Tiger broke the bat in his mouth and roared. When they lost he was all bandaged up and meowed like a cat. Man! Those were the days. Lou, Chet, Trammell, Sparky, Morris, Gibby, Willie, Parrish, what a great team! Still love em!

  • Personally a Rangers fan here, but I love this song, greatness takes you back to a simpler time. Can you believe we're only 2 days away from regular season baseball! I need my baseball fix

  • GOOO TIGERS!!!!!!

  • I'll say it...HANK GREENBERG

  • i remember 68 and 84 vividly, but two strikes later and i couldn't care less about the sport after watching this video it reminds me of how much i USED to love the sport i grew up playing every summer day makes me a little sad actually

  • @bannarino

I could''nt agree with you more.

  • What? No mention of legendary nice guy Ty Cobb?

  • The GEORGIA PEACH?

Right at the start of the song? ;)

  • @obiwanobiwan13

TY COBB was the Georgia Peach!!

  • @RASinger I KNOW THAT!!!

That's why I was responding to the OTHER GUY, Cooman456!

I don't root for the Tigers (I'm a tortured Mets fan, so I don't care about the Tigers either way, really, unless they're on nationally and it looks like a good matchup) but I know who The Georgia Peach is, thank you!

  • @obiwanobiwan13 Haha... and ooooops, mis-read that one! Of COURSE you know who the Georgia Peach was!! Who doesn't! LOL.

I'm not a Tigers fan either, 'cept for the one on my Fantasy Team this season -- GO MIGUEL CABRERA!!

And don't tell ME about YOUR torture.... I'M a lifelong CUBS FAN!! Arrrrgggghhhh! (THE most unrequited love in history!!)

  • @Cooman456

lol first one he mentions Georgia peach please tell me that you knew that was his nickname??????????????????????

  • This sounds like it is from 1984. I would like to see an updated version.

  • Love it. Love it. Love it..... GO TIGERS!!!

  • you could even tell when ernie harwell said welcome to another year of tiger baseball at comerica park. you can tell he was dissappointed. its just not about the park anymore. it was about who payed the most to have the park named after their company. its just not the same not when its called comerica park. please send me a response if you agree.

  • Great comment. There is no place like the old yard. They should have renovated. Add me as a friend. I will be posting a vlog for interactive Tiger's talk starting tonight against Oakland. We just have to sweep these guys if we are serious.

    Great comment.

  • funny. this must be old cus u sing that music today in detroit u jus get shot! now its rap, hiphop, or notin!

  • whatever, we're takin' this city back over

  • At the moment, my favorite player on the Tigers is Carlos Guillen. He has so much fun out there and he's cool, calm and collect!!!

Eat em up Tigers Eat em up!!!

  • BRIGGS STADIUM ALWAYS HAD A HITTING SHOW, to bad they closed it, THE COMERICA CURSE REALLY SUCKS

  • 02:42 - "Chas Gehringer"? Cool....

  • Chas was his nickname only to his close friends. He often signed autographs with his nickname Chas.

  • u will find very few "charles" gerhinger autos. espically as he got older.

  • like u stated before a majority of his autographs u see are Chas Gerhinger. He once stated he signed more autographs after his career then he did when he played ball.

  • Granderson, Polanco, Sheffield, Ordonez, Cabrera, Guillen, Polanco, Pudge, Thames or Jones... Whew!!!! Tigers '08!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Tigers I grew up with, Morris...Parrish, Gibson goosing the Goose in the '84 series.

    RIP Senor Smoke.

  • trivia question:

whatever happened to steve kemp after the tigers traded him to chet lemon?

  • He stuck with them for maybe two years (one year?), then went to the Yankees & the Pirates (teammates with Jason Thompson in PIT), then ended his career in the Rangers' farm system.

  • @rocknroller111 I grew up with them up too. We couldn't get a ticket to the playoff clincher against KC so we stuffed ourselves we hot dogs at a Coney Island in downtown Detroit. It had a small B&W. The place was full for the whole game. When the last out came we could hear the roar all the way down Michigan. When Gibby hit the clinching HR we screamed with delight from our living rooms. No tickets but plenty of joy. One of the best moments of our lives

  • I much prefer the original version of Talkin Baseball, but being a life long Tigers fan that was cool.

  • Great Baseball Song! To think It all started for Terry Cashman in Washinton Heights, NYC With a teenage singing group called The Chevrons, with a national hit(Lullabye) circa 1960 followed with a an album (Sing A Long Rock N' Roll)

Terry keep on Talking musical baseball!

  • Least we have a chance in 2008. You have to come here and relive history. Are things that bad in Cardinal country? You have to come here for entertainment?

  • fugg the cardinals...

being a tiger fan in chicago, it will be so nice to go in person and see the cubs eat the cards like a slice of deep dish pizza...

looks like a good year for 4th for the cards..

enjoy the tigers in the series...

  • How are the Cardinals now? We basically handed you guys the world series that year.

  • We're ALL behind our baseball team: GO GET EM, TIGERS!!!

  • And Keeeenny had pinetar dirt on his hand hey, hey, hmmm, hmmm.

  • man its sad their leavening Tiger Stadium to rot its sad...

  • This is what baseball is all about History and names that will never be forgotten. I feel sorry for the people that don't remember that there was baseball before the homerun era. Thank you for posting this viedo it made my day.

  • hitting homers is the LAST thing baseball is about...

  • Homers? Barry Bnds has how many rings? Zero! Yet little David Eckstein has two!

  • see how many season homer champs in history have ended up on world series winners...HINT: not too many...

  • ruth

    gherigh

    mantle

    maris

    Jackson just from the yankees

  • sorry jackson never did that

  • geez, sure homers aren't that much. (nice to see one once in awhile though, admit it.) but you all don't have to be such snotty babies about it.

  • As much of a jerk as Ty Cobb was, he had it right. Baseball wasn't meant to be overpowered by the likes of Babe Ruth. It was meant to be a thinking man's game...bunt for a hit...hit & run...sacrifice...steal a base...that is what baseball was meant to be.

  • nothing excuses that redneck im sorry.

  • GO GET EM TIGERS!

  • GO CARDINALS!!!2006 WORLD CHAMPS!!

  • shut the f up dude like yestetrday ur team sux

  • fuk u

  • You wrapped up my childhood watching the Tigers thanks! Old Parrish and Lemon, wow this video is incredible. GO TIGERS (and WINGS) 2006!!
