@Chichiri520 Ok, for the people who are not familiar with this story. This is from a famous period in Chinese history called the romance of the three kingdoms which happened around 180 AD to 230 AD. The main dude in the opera has 0 troops left in his city and the enemy has tons of guys just outside the gates. His strategy is to trick them into thinking there is an ambush somewhere. The plan worked and the enemy retreated.
Please, I am by no means an expert of Chinese history...but I thought that the general had very few troops left and he commanded most to hide in the homes and the rest to "sweep th streets". All of this occured under the threat of instant decapitation.
Im sorry to say this but I think this is so cute! When women in Beijing opera portray men is so adorable. Especially at 5:25 when he plays the Qin instrument.
But y'all have to admit though, they went OD at 1:25 with the Jinghu (京胡) before that and then they just started rapping with it like "UH OH, it's the rap part". But anyway, y'all know straight up they didnt feel like playing the whole piece so they just played it at 90 MPH just to get it over with.
